This question was actually quite easy for Flint to answer. His movements during the play were spontaneous. Regardless of whether he was playing Jonathan or himself, he still asked his best friend to dance with him. He loved the romantic scene Ellen had created; it was so sweet, it made him fall in love even more. He even wanted to reenact the sweet scene as himself in real life.
"Ellen, I–"
drrrt…drrrt…
Suddenly, his phone vibrated in his pants pocket. He answered a brief call from his adoptive mother with a blank expression. After a brief pause, he ended the call and tucked his phone back into his pocket.
Ellen wondered what Flint would have said if the phone call hadn't come. However, seeing her friend's listless expression, she was forced to abandon her thoughtless question.
"Ellen, I'm sorry. I can't have dinner with you today," Flint said softly.
"It's okay. I can go to Penelope's residence anyway."
"I will definitely be back early."
