Noctis's pov.
"They say the soul is a flame. I disagree because we can't see the soul, isn't that common sense?" I talked to myself like a maniac at the top of a tree.
"Oh well, guess you'll never know." I smiled as i climbed down, cracking my neck. "I've made up my mind." I walked through the white ground. Scanning my surroundings.
"I'm going to go back, check out everything that has happened... And maybe I can probably do something." Mist comes out from my mouth when i breathe.
I heard voices. Multiple. So i hid behind the closest thing next to me. A big ass tree. 'FUCK. Where... How?!' my heart slammed against my chest as i heard the voices fade away.
'i have to move slowly, Very. Slowly.' i shook my head and peeked out, spotting nothing before continuing to move silently.
I spot one of them all alone, so vulnerable. 'its a trap. They know I'm here.' i ignored him before turning around and just making a break for it.
Somehow, by some miracle, I got out unnoticed. But I kept running. And running. Untill I reached a familiar pathway.
I scanned the ground before seeing a body with an arrow lodged in its eye, covered under the snow. "Poor guy... anyway! I think this is where I came from... Uhh, so i guess I'll just trackback."
A few minutes later and using a makeshift shovel i dug up a grave for him and buried the man with an arrow in his head.
"It's a shame. You were a good man... Well for the while i talked to you." I sighed before turning around and tracking back.
The air was cold.
I wanted to go back home. And I was unable to keep killing like that. "I can't keep doing stuff like this just for myself to survive."
I killed people who also just wanted to survive.
"There's no good or bad in this. Just two bloodlusted countries and their stupid politicians and nobles who want extra cash." I ranted to myself for on and on and on.
By the time i got finished with everything I had to say to myself my jaw was hurting.
So I shut up and kept moving instead of looking like a person who's losing their mind.
I walked for hours, taking small breaks in between and spotting familiar checkpoints.
I stopped as the fog cleared. A castle revealed itself, big, grand. And hostile.
"These fuckers." I cursed and cursed. My breath trembled and my eyes started shaking.
Anger. For no reason, or that i could think of. Maybe it's for the people I uselessly killed. The blood i could've not shed.
The lives of people who were ended for just... A castle for some royal family's marriage?
"Why... Is it like this? Every single time... Why?" I muttered under my breath before finally getting a hold of myself before doing something in Anger that I will regret.
I thought it was a good idea to go back home. I spotted a crossbow with arrows laying next to it on a box. "Fuck it." I breathed out, turning back quietly to where i came from.
I retreated into the woods, my legs trembling from the constant movement.
"Guess I'll have to go back to that treeli-" i cut myself off as i heard a small whistling sound, followed by a Massive boom of sound that hits my eardrums like a brick.
I spin around faster than a ballerina and watch as the big smoke cloud envelope half of the Castle. "Oh well, lucky me ain't it?"
I paused. "Or not, a sudden attack will obviously have soldiers pile up..." I sighed in defeat and went straight back. I stood behind the front lines.
I watched as wagons and horses of knights and infantry stop by and blow past me.
"I guess I'll pick off the little fucks." I pull out the crossbow from the bloodstained trench coat, cocked it back and loaded the arrow.
I raised the crossbow up and aim at a random knights head. I fired the arrow, it flew in a perfect straight line and pierced right through the metal helmet.
Blood splattered from the shot as he dropped to the ground instantly. Not even a scream.
I looked at the crossbow in my head my eyebrows raised. "Holy shit." I then shook my head, putting the sense right back in your head.
I continued loading arrows and firing. Not all were headshots, sometimes neck shots. Arm shots that made their arms go limp.
I didn't count. I reached back for one more arrow.. i grabbed the air. 'ah shit... Gotta run.' i practically threw myself off the tree i claimed up. Making a break for it in the snow.
I reached the attacking side, our side. I went straight to them. "Hey! Over here!" I called out as i continued moving towards the soldiers.
One of them raised a sword at me and my eyes widened. I acted quick. "Wait wait!" I took off the coat with trembling hands, showing them the uniform and badge of celst.
He scanned me once more before nodding and let me continue moving. Escorting myself out of the battlefield as barrages of magic missiles rained down on them.
