Chapter 12 - Out of Place

"Stop screaming. Get a grip!"

Hearing the noise by his ear getting worse and worse, Heisenberg hurriedly grabbed Barbara by her little hand and shook her a couple times in midair.

Interrupted like that, Barbara barely clawed her way out of panic.

In the next instant, after checking where she was, Barbara's eyes went blurry…

She looked at Heisenberg with a sob in her voice. "I'm dead, right? I have to be!"

"Uh…" Heisenberg looked completely confused. "Why would you think that?"

"I'm in space. I… I'm actually in space!" Barbara repeated in disbelief, but her excitement was quickly cut off.

"Only 20,00020,000 meters. Don't tell me you've never been this high. This is not space."

"I have. I really have." Barbara protested. "But I've never been at 20,00020,000 meters sunbathing in a little suit like this!"

As she spoke, she yanked hard on Heisenberg's hand and pulled herself straight into his arms. Then she leaned in and planted fierce little pecks on his chin and cheek.

"I'm not being reserved anymore. Oh my God, oh my God, this is way too romantic for any woman. I'm flying. I'm being brought into the sky by a man. I…"

"Tell me where the nightclub is, right now." Heisenberg cut her off mercilessly. "Otherwise, the man who brought you up can also throw you down."

Why don't men like women who are too smart, especially female agents?

Because you never know which sentence is real and which sentence is fake.

So facing Barbara's enthusiasm, so ambiguous he couldn't confirm it, Heisenberg became calmer instead.

Of course, it might also be because Barbara had transformed from a sporty hoodie Barbie into a suit-and-office style little…

In any case, Heisenberg was not interested at all in Barbara wearing an OL outfit.

Seeing Heisenberg wasn't reacting with the "hooked" look she expected, Barbara felt disappointed for a moment.

But disappointment was disappointment. She still had to point the way.

She looked around and couldn't help rolling her eyes. "We're 20,00020,000 meters up, the clouds are insanely thick, I can't even see New York clearly. How am I supposed to guide you?"

"Yeah, yeah, it's all my fault for wanting to take you for a joyride, right?" Heisenberg muttered, then pulled Barbara down through the cloud layer.

He didn't fly as insanely fast as before. He left her a bit of time to enjoy it.

And just like Heisenberg predicted, Barbara kept reaching out, trying to touch the wind and the clouds.

"Every time I come this high, I have to gear up like an astronaut. I love how easy this feels right now!"

The warmth of the wind, the snow-white clouds, and Barbara's manic excitement blended together perfectly.

Watching Barbara yell and vent her emotions like a goofy dog, Heisenberg smiled knowingly, then suddenly stopped atop the tallest building in all of New York.

Standing here, Heisenberg and Barbara could see almost the entire city.

So after Barbara steadied herself, Heisenberg pointed down at the city below.

"Roughly where is the nightclub you mentioned?"

"Mhm. Over there, there, and then there."

"Got it." Heisenberg nodded, then pulled the woman into his arms again and took off.

More than forty seconds after they left, another armored figure, gold mixed with red, flew over.

The armor swooshed down onto the spot Heisenberg had just been at. Then the faceplate lifted, revealing a billionaire's very unhappy face.

"Picking up girls on my rooftop, Heisenberg. You alien really are going too far!"

Tony stared into the sky, but he couldn't find Heisenberg's shadow at all.

Tony understood too. With Heisenberg's flight speed, it was not something Earth tech could catch up to within twenty years.

So after a glance, he returned to his lab in a fury.

Sitting in his cluttered laboratory, Tony Stark felt irritated.

If his armor suit-up time weren't so slow, he would have rushed over the instant Heisenberg appeared and blasted him in the face a few times.

Normally you didn't feel it, but at critical moments, that suit-up tool wasted too much time.

No.

Tony slapped the table and made a decision on the spot.

Mark IV had to be changed. He needed to design a newer suit-up procedure as much as possible.

And he also had to develop a Mark V, with portability as the core theme.

If one day he ran into an opponent like Heisenberg on the street, he wouldn't be instantly taken out.

But then the question came. With his current tech, how far could he push portability?

Calculations, endless calculations. Three hours later, Tony roughly got the numbers.

With his current level, he could definitely compress his armor into something the size of a suitcase.

As for the weight, it shouldn't exceed 30 kg30 kg.

While Tony was fighting hard for his sudden inspiration, Heisenberg had already arrived at his nightclub.

Second Bazaar Nightclub.

The location was closer to Brooklyn. It was nowhere near the Queens area Heisenberg asked for, but it was indeed near Hell's Kitchen.

Heisenberg didn't get hung up on Queens. After all, he only asked for that because he thought of Little Spider-Man.

Since there was now a more suitable place, there was no need to hang himself in Queens.

As one of Kingpin's top-tier nightclubs, Second Bazaar occupied the top three floors of the most luxurious building in Brooklyn.

Heisenberg didn't care about the building itself, because there was no need. He only cared about his nightclub.

So he flew straight to the third level of his nightclub, the very top of the building.

Sure enough, the building really did have a luxurious rooftop.

Kingpin had not only placed a helipad up here, he'd also excavated and designed an ultra-fashionable swimming pool.

In his previous life, Heisenberg had seen countless influencer skyscraper pools. Now, those were things he could grab with a single reach.

Walking past the pool and the badminton court toward the attic, Heisenberg forced the attic door open and entered what would be his future living area.

The attic villa was fairly large, around 800800 square meters.

Heisenberg followed the spiral corridor down to the top floor, the level he would use for hosting guests and training.

Game room, gym, everything you could think of, he could already imagine it.

But an "intimacy room"…

Ahem.

Heisenberg coughed twice, kept a straight face, and led Barbara past the doorway of a room full of ropes and little toys.

"This place has to be remodeled. There's too much glass. Privacy is not convenient."

Heisenberg sighed, acting as if nothing happened, and led Barbara through the soundproof corridor and down the elevator into the real nightclub.

The moment the elevator doors opened, Heisenberg saw two men standing in the hallway.

Dark purple carpet, pale pink lighting. Even though two burly guys were standing there, Heisenberg somehow thought they looked pretty clean-cut.

And the moment the elevator opened, the two men walked up respectfully.

"Boss Bullseye called ahead. We're very happy to work under you. I'm George Yaltrod, this is Billy Khan. We're both marketing assistants for this club."

"Mhm." Heisenberg gave an icy order. "Change the club's name. It's Academy of Sciences."

The second he said it, the two assistants' brains buzzed.

"Th… Academy of Sciences… th-this…"

Billy clearly didn't understand.

Heisenberg continued calmly. "Hard to imagine? Come up with a themed event. Theme: Mars exploration. Then change all the girls' bras to Mars patterns. Is that hard?"

"Uh!"

"You're truly too wise!"

The two assistants instantly went full flunky mode. Heisenberg ignored them, walked through the corridor, and followed the boss passage into the backstage area.

After he left, the two assistants were still in the hallway, discussing science-themed outfits.

"If the bras can be Mars patterns, what about panties? Mariana Trench?"

"Or the East African Rift?"

Ignoring their struggle, the moment Heisenberg passed through the boss passage, he realized he'd entered the nightclub's changing room.

Or the wardrobe room. In any case, it was the backstage behind the stage.

When the door opened, more than forty girls stopped what they were doing at once.

So when Heisenberg saw them, at least seven were still stuck in the act of pulling on pants…

"This…" Heisenberg almost wanted to take a huge drag of a cigarette.

So this was what a nightclub owner's life was like?

So Kingpin lived in this kind of "deep water and raging fire" environment every day?

Shameless.

Heisenberg pressed his lips together and quietly switched to a gentle smile.

"Ladies, I'm your new boss. Just call me Heisenberg."

"Woooow!"

"The new boss is so handsome!"

"So tall, so strong!"

"That chest, it could clamp my heart to pieces!"

"Boss, do you need olive oil? I can help rub it on!"

The girls chirped and squealed nonstop, and Heisenberg nearly blossomed with joy.

Control, control, control. His expression management improved massively in an instant.

After a moment, Heisenberg turned around like a gentleman, signaling the girls to get themselves in order first.

The girls immediately giggled as they put on their performance outfits.

Especially the strippers. They took extra long, because the clothes they put on had to be extra "rich."

The slower you strip, the more you strip, the stronger the customers' anticipation, right?

Some bold girls even rushed over, wanting to cover Heisenberg's eyes from behind and play a game…

Cover your eyes, and use the size of the breasts pressed to your back to guess who I am…

Unfortunately, Barbara was right there. Her delicate looks and dangerous aura made that girl not dare to do it in the end.

Once the girls were mostly dressed, Heisenberg turned back and chatted with them smiling.

"I don't know what Kingpin demanded from you before, but I don't care."

"You only need to follow the order I set."

"And my order has only one rule. No buying or selling drugs in my nightclub."

"As for the rest, you can go spend the night with a suitable big spender, or do anything you want."

"As long as you don't do drugs and you don't ruin the nightclub's vibe, you will be the freest midnight workers in all of America. My word."

"Ooooooh!!!"

"Long live Heisenberg, hahaha!"

"Darling, can I call you darling?"

"I love the boss so much, I'm going to let you taste my skills!"

The girls instantly erupted into chaos.

They understood better than anyone that for them, going out overnight with an excited customer was the biggest income point for ordinary strip dancers like them.

Especially since this nightclub's level was high. The people who came here to spend might not all be rich, but they were at least New York's middle class.

So even though Heisenberg didn't raise their wages and didn't talk about tip splits…

As long as he didn't restrict their interactions with customers, they were confident they could triple their income again and again by luring customers into paying for overnight company.

Amid the girls' happy laughter, Heisenberg quietly left backstage, found a booth he liked, and sat down.

Employees with sharp ears kept coming to him, bowing, bringing him drinks.

But Heisenberg seemed to vanish outside the world.

He was clearly sitting there, yet he didn't belong with the world at all.
