Chapter 183 - Chapter 96: The Plot Begins, Haruna Appears

"What happened today? Why are you so miserable again?"

Kurumi took a sip of tea, watched the program on TV, and asked Ayumi, who was leaning against the wall, covered in injuries and mud. Ever since she gained immortality, this girl's behavior had become increasingly reckless, and the number of times she courted death had grown. She would rush into any situation. If she hadn't turned into a zombie, she would have probably died hundreds of times by now.

In just a short month, she had developed such habits. If the other party wasn't a hidden masochist, Kurumi would never believe it. After thinking carefully, if she had to categorize it, Ayumi was currently hovering between being a masochist and a suffering addict.

"I was hit by a large truck while saving a kitten, fell into the water, and after climbing out, I was bitten by a passing dog..."

"Alright! No time to listen to your sorrow, hurry up and make dinner! Can't you see Yuu is hungry?"

"I'm saying, can't you guys care about me a little? I am..."

"You're a zombie! You can't die, you'll recover in a moment. Change your clothes, then go make dinner, got it?"

Kurumi, who didn't want to hear this chatty zombie continue to ramble, stared expressionlessly with her half-exposed red eye, the cold light in her gaze making Ayumi shiver.

"Yes! Going right away."

"Ayumi."

"What is it, Yuu?"

Just as Ayumi puffed out her chest, stood at attention, and was about to return to her room at top speed, Yuu suddenly took out her notebook with Ayumi's name written on it. Ayumi even fantasized for a moment that Yuu was going to comfort her injured heart. But Yuu's next sentence immediately petrified her.

"Steam more rice."

Looking at the words on the notebook, Ayumi felt as if her heart had been brutally stabbed.

"If this is also 'tsundere'..."

Ayumi, feeling unable to withstand the blow, gave a bitter smile and imagined in her mind.

"'Onii-san,' Yuu played too hard today, so she wants to eat a lot of rice, ehe! (Ayumi, with a fragile heart, imagining this.)"

"'Onii-san' won't mind Yuu eating a bit too much, right! (Ayumi, with a fragile heart, imagining this.)"

"How could I, ehehe! How could I mind Yuu, ehe."

Kurumi watched Ayumi, who was twisted into a knot, looking shy and happy, speechless. This child was beyond saving.

"So, if Yuu is 'tsundere', then Kurumi is'seductive'."

Thinking this, Ayumi shifted her fantasy target from Yuu to Kurumi, and so...

"Darling, I played too hard with Yuu today, so I'll leave dinner to you. Tonight, let's... play... together! (Ayumi, with a fragile heart, imagining this.)"

In Ayumi's mind, Kurumi's alluring figure, half-revealed and half-concealed, appeared. Her seductive, caressing smile felt like tiny hands stroking Ayumi's heart. Seeing Kurumi like this, Ayumi felt a rush of heat erupt from her brain, heading towards her nose.

"Pfft! Very good, very powerful."

Suddenly, Ayumi's nosebleed gushed out like a broken faucet, blood spraying like a small fountain.

"Hello! Is this the crematorium? I have..."

Watching Ayumi like this, Kurumi pulled out her phone and called the crematorium.

"I'm still alive!"

Looking at Ayumi, who shakily raised her hand, Kurumi unhappily put down her phone and let Ayumi wipe the nosebleed from the floor, then go change and make dinner.

"What's wrong? Doesn't it suit your taste?"

Ayumi looked at Kurumi, who had suddenly stopped eating, and asked with some unease. After all, she was very satisfied with her own cooking. Could it be that today's dishes weren't to her liking?

"Uh! Nothing, I just remembered something."

Kurumi glanced at the inexplicably uneasy Ayumi and replied. In fact, she had suddenly remembered that she and Yuu had been in this place for almost a month. So, the plot should be unfolding soon, right?

"Don't worry! It's nothing."

Suddenly feeling someone tug her sleeve, Kurumi turned her head to see Yuu looking at her with some concern, wondering if something was wrong with her. Kurumi smiled and ruffled Yuu's cute little head, saying to Yuu.

"If there's something, we should share it together."

Placing the notebook in front of Kurumi, Yuu looked at Kurumi seriously and pointed to the words on the notebook.

"Sorry for making you worry. If anything happens, I will definitely tell you."

She hugged Yuu apologetically for a moment, then quickly separated, speaking sincerely to Yuu. Making this pure and kind child worry about her, Kurumi felt a sense of guilt in her heart.

"I'm going out to buy some things."

Just as the atmosphere between the two became a bit subtle, Ayumi's appearance broke the delicacy.

"Take your time on the road."

To thank Ayumi for her divine assistance, Kurumi's expression softened slightly as she spoke to Ayumi.

Ayumi, who thought no one would reply, looked at Kurumi as if she had seen a ghost. When Kurumi grew impatient from being stared at and glared at Ayumi, Ayumi then showed an 'that's more like it' expression and left the house.

Kurumi looked at the now empty entrance, picked up her teacup, and after a moment of silence, glanced at Yuu, only to find Yuu looking back at her. Kurumi awkwardly coughed twice. A flash of inspiration suddenly crossed her mind, and Kurumi asked Yuu with utmost seriousness:

"Yuu, do you want to be able to speak?"

While the two were having an intense conversation, Ayumi, who had just rushed out of the house, bought her things, and then turned a corner towards the cemetery.

"I guess I'm worthy of having changed my race. I never dared to come here before, but now I feel more comfortable here than at home."

Sitting leisurely on a stone, Ayumi took out a can of hot coffee and drank it, looking at the surrounding tombstones with satisfaction.

But life is always full of surprises. Just as she was relaxing for a while and about to go home, a sound of weapons clashing suddenly came from afar.

"What's happening?"

"It can't be a midnight killer, can it?"

Ayumi, startled by her sudden overthinking, shook her head to temporarily suppress the terrifying thoughts. She quietly moved closer to the fight, but contrary to her expectations, as she approached, the other party also moved towards her.

"What is that?"

Ayumi watched a bear in a Zhongshan suit fighting a petite figure. The petite person was holding a giant chainsaw, which filled Ayumi with an inexplicable fear. But the battlefield changed in an instant. Ayumi, who was originally on the edge of the battlefield and thinking about how to leave, suddenly felt something flying towards her. Looking closely, it was the girl with the chainsaw.

"Hey! Are you alright?!"

Kind-hearted Ayumi was about to help the other party up, but the other party pushed her away, saying, 'You're in the way.' This made Ayumi very sad, but before Ayumi could finish feeling sad, a huge pain spread through her body. A pair of sharp claws had impaled her.

"In the end, an innocent passerby got involved. This will cost me academic credits. You over there, may you rest in peace! I will avenge you."

The girl in a pink lace dress and a round hat said to Ayumi.

"Are you more worried about academic credits than about me?"

At this moment, Ayumi had already started crying, truly crying. What kind of people had she encountered lately! Not even a single normal one. But in the next second, she couldn't even cry anymore.

"Hey! Go pick up my other half."

"No way! Oh, and I need to erase your memory."

Ayumi pointed expressionlessly at her lower half, which was three meters away from her. She hadn't expected that bear to be so clever, using her to block the chainsaw. Although, in the end, the girl in front of her ignored the 'hostage' and directly sawed both the 'hostage' and the 'criminal' in half, Ayumi, who just couldn't die, still couldn't resent the girl. Just as Ayumi offered to help pick up her body, she was cruelly rejected by the girl. The other party also seemed to want to erase her memory.

As the girl touched Ayumi's body, the magic power on the girl's body instantly surged towards Ayumi, and her clothes instantly disappeared, leaving only a small patch of holy light.

"You have to believe this wasn't my doing."

Seeing the girl's obviously uneasy expression, Ayumi felt that something big was wrong and quickly explained, not even daring to look at the 'benefits'.

"Yamete!"

The next second, a painful scream that made people's eyes well up with tears echoed throughout the entire cemetery.
