Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Digital Ring of Holding

The "Battle-Stream" had made Su Chen more than just a merchant; he was now a cultural deity. But with great power came a massive storage problem. The disciples were generating so much "content"—recorded duels, alchemy tutorials, and endless pictures of spirit-beasts—that the local jade-slip infrastructure was cracking.

"System," Su Chen groaned, rubbing his temples. "I need a way to store more than just data. I need to store stuff. My courtyard is overflowing with donated Spirit Stones and 'Gifts' from fans."

[Requirement Met: Upgrading to 'The Cloud' (Aetheric Storage Layer).] [New Feature: Digital Inventory. Users can now convert physical matter into stabilized Qi-code and store it on the network.]

Su Chen's eyes lit up. He wasn't just building the internet anymore; he was building a literal Cloud Storage system for physical objects.

He tested it immediately. He picked up a heavy Spirit Sword, focused his intent, and swiped "Up" into the air. The sword dissolved into a stream of blue binary code and vanished. A small icon appeared in his vision: [Sword_01.exe]. He tapped the icon, and the sword materialized back into his hand instantly.

"Forget bags of holding," Su Chen whispered. "This is a Google Drive for weapons."

He released the update as "The Heavenly Vault." For a monthly fee, any cultivator could store their treasures in a digital space that no thief could reach.

However, Su Chen made one tactical "oversight." He didn't mention that as the Admin, he had "Read/Write" permissions.

Within hours, the world of cultivation changed forever. Disciples were no longer carrying heavy packs or visible weapons. They walked with their hands behind their backs, looking like true immortals, only to "download" a massive war-hammer at the last second of a fight.

But the success caught the eye of the Mortal Emperor, who lived in the sprawling city below the peaks. The Emperor's spies had reported that the immortals were no longer meditating on the Dao, but were instead staring into space and summoning gold out of thin air.

A royal decree arrived at the sect gates: The Emperor demands the 'Divine Sight' be granted to the common folk. If the Heavens have a network, the Earth must have its share.

Su Chen smirked. "He wants 4G in the capital? Fine. But he's not going to like the Terms and Conditions."
