Chapter 1 - Prologue - Transmigration

Hmm, you know, someone told me that I shouldn't always look at my phone. Well, guess they were right when I didn't see a speeding truck run me over.

"Indeed, that was mostly your fault. You forgot the look right and left rule before crossing."

Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm now dead? Well, I am incase that wasn't obvious.

Now, in the plane of the inbetween, I was sat infront of a pure white being with the silhoutte of a human.

It didn't have eyes, but it did have a mouth. So the only being I can compare it to is the Truth from FMA.

Honestly, I thought the ROB trope died long ago.

"Well, we never truly died. It was just that, we got buried by those chinese and system tropes."

He then stood up, going to a clothed object that I swore wasn't there before.

"Besides, you'd be surprised at how many still do this trope. While not as much, it's certainly not dead."

He then pulled on the cloth, and pulled.

From the covers, three wheels were present, each with a distinct title above glowing in neon lights.

"I'm sure you can read, but for those who can't see them, I'll say the names!"

Is this guy breaking the fourth wall?

"Yes. Anyways, we have the ability wheel, situational wheel, and world wheel."

Wow, so complex.

"I know that's sarcasm, but anyways, you're sensible enough to understand what these wheels represent, so let's give it a shot!"

He then beckoned me with a finger.

Not really having a choice, I complied and walked over.

Standing before it, did I truly know how enormous the wheels looked.

Whoa, are those small slots the abilities?

"Yes, and as you've seen, they're arranged by color. With white being the lowest, and red being the highest tier. If you have some luck, you might even become multiversal at the start."

Okay, now that sounds interesting.

"So, wanna take a gamble?"

My mom always said to say no to gambling, but eh, my days of a gacha addict already eroded that line of thought.

Placing my hand on the wheel, I made it roll.

At first it started slow, deliberate, then it picked up speed, going faster and faster until all I see were blurs.

"While we wait for that, why don't we move on to the world and situation."

We can just leave this?

"Yeah, it'll take a while with how many abilities that exist in the multiverse. The worlds however, well, they're filtered out to only those you know."

Why?

"So that you don't make a mistake of following the timeline like some idiot."

What makes you think I won't follow the timeline of said universe that Iknow of?

"Well, huh, you're actually right. Well in that case."

He then snapped his fingers and.....

Nothing happened, the wheel didn't change, the worlds it had didn't change. It was the same.

Before I could ask, he held a hand to my face.

"It may look the same, but I made a few tweaks to make sure it's not a one to one of the world you know."

Oh, so we're going with the "same world but different vibes"?

"You can say it like that."

Without waiting for any further cues, I spun the wheel. And like before, it took a while before it gained enough speed.

"Let's go to the last one."

Unlike both wheels, this one was much smaller, around the same size as an adult.

On it, were several situations that I could find myself in.

[ Lab rat ]

[ Child of a villain ]

[ Slave ]

[ Nepo baby ]

.....

Honestly, more than half of these aren't that bad. The truly bad ones are the ones that put me in a tight spot.

Without much else to do, I spun the wheel.

This time, it was much faster in gaining speed as it matched the other two wheels.

By the time it slowed down, the others did too.

Then, at the same time.....

*Clack clack clack clack.....clack.....clack.....click.

[ Adaption ]

[ Ben 10 (modified) ]

[ Rich kid ]

Oh, well these look good.

"Color me surprised, you're pretty lucky."

Yeah, not in gacha though. Still salty I didn't get Artoria saber.

As if understanding, the being nodded sympathetically.

"Well, before you go, I'll tell you a few things that reincarnated people seem to forget."

Huh? There's more?

"Yes. Well, it should've been common sense, but oh well."

He then placed his hands on my shoulders, the white spaces that should've occupied his eyes bore into mine.

"You are human. Do not forget that you are just like the people in the world you will go to."

"Just because you met me and received abilities doesn't mean you get to act high and mighty."

"The people of the world you're being sent to are as human as you are. If you can't even accept that, then you'll never fully live."

Before I could even say anything else, he pushed me, but instead of my back meeting the magical flooring, I continued to fall.

I couldn't scream, I couldn't breathe. The last thing I remember being met by darkness was him uttering a few simple words.

"I'll be watching you."

And just like that, I awoke, not in the body I was used to, but as someone else entirely.

I was reincarnated in Ben 10.
