Chapter 29 – Too Wrong All At Once
A strange dizziness washed over Ismena and she gripped the edge of the dressing table to keep herself on her feet.
She settled into the dressing chair.
The room seemed to be tiltling all around her and it took a while for her to recollect herself.
Ever since she had given Haron her blood, she had not felt quite like herself.
In fact, she felt weaker and weaker everyday.
But it was a risky thing to reveal that to anyone. Not even the physicians who were more than ready to tell her that they had warned her about the foolishness of her decision. Not Haron who would be more than willing and grateful to ask Stavan to look after her while he would take to the road for his visits to other kingdoms on matters regarding the war.
Not Stavan.
Especially not Stavan.
