Chapter 1 - Chapter Three: The Groom's Makeup Room, Pre-Wedding Moments

I got a ring, looking into your eyes and saying I do. This heart is yours, please cherish it.

I got a ring, tears of joy flowing as I promise to be your wife, never to be apart from you."

The sunlight filtered in through the large windows, casting a warm glow across the entire hall. Today was a special day. Noah International Hotel's main hall was fully prepared for a grand wedding.

The ceiling was decorated with a massive red ribbon heart, and the tables were covered with red cloth. The aisle was lined with a pristine red carpet, and every piece of fabric had intricate embroidered patterns of phoenixes and mandarin ducks symbolizing harmony and unity.

But today's wedding was not just any ordinary celebration.

It was, in fact, a bit quirky.

"Wan'er~ Wan'er~" A graceful face appeared at the door of the groom's makeup room.

Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and she was dressed in a bright red wedding gown. This beautiful bride was the main character of today's ceremony—Lin Wan'er.

"Lily, what are you doing sneaking out?" The groom, Lu Yuze, frowned in confusion and a little helplessness as he looked at her.

Lily put a finger to her lips and made a "shh" gesture. She peeked into the room, checking if anyone was around. When she was sure no one was watching, she dashed into the room.

"Wan'er, look at your gown. The tail is so long, you're dragging it all over the place!" Lu Yuze couldn't help but feel a little sorry.

Lily pouted and swung the long, flowing gown. "Come on, you're a big boss now, but you're still so stingy! Plus, the train is so long, it's really inconvenient!"

"It's beautiful though! Remember, you insisted on a traditional Chinese wedding, and this gown was custom-made by the best tailor in Suzhou, with silk from the finest mulberry silkworms…"

"Alright, alright, I know! I'll be more careful, no more dragging."

Lu Yuze raised an eyebrow. "So… where's your phoenix crown?"

"It's too heavy, I left it in the makeup room."

"You just… left it there?" Lu Yuze's voice had a hint of concern. "That phoenix crown cost over 30 thousand!"

Lily gave him a pitiful look, her eyes full of innocence. "It was too heavy!"

Lu Yuze sighed and smiled. "It's okay, I suppose it doesn't matter as long as you're happy."

"Thank you, Yuze," she murmured, her eyes glistening.

Then, she suddenly realized something. "Oh, wait! We can't see each other before the ceremony! You need to go back!"

She lowered her head, slightly embarrassed, as she inadvertently dragged the long wedding gown train behind her.

"Relax, relax," Lu Yuze chuckled, gently patting her back. "It's not a big deal, let's just enjoy the day."

Lily smiled and admitted, "Actually, I'm a little nervous, that's why I came to find you."

Lu Yuze laughed. "First time? How many times do you plan to get married?"

"Just once! Only with you. If there's a next time, it's in the next life."

He gently pinched her nose. "You're still as cute as ever."

Lily laughed brightly. "Well, I'm really nervous. I don't know what to do, I've never been married before."

"I'm nervous too," Lu Yuze admitted.

She pulled out two pieces of candy from her gown, "Here, eat some White Rabbit milk candies, it'll help you relax. It worked before."

Lu Yuze took the candy and unwrapped it, popping it into his mouth. "Lily, you're really something. First, the bride sneaks to meet the groom before the ceremony; second, she eats White Rabbit milk candy to calm down. You're truly one of a kind."

"What's wrong with that? I like it, and I'm giving a pack to every guest at the wedding!" She said proudly, striking a playful pose.

"Alright, alright, we'll be the quirky couple."

Lu Yuze chuckled, then remembered something else. "By the way, Lily, most weddings have traditional songs like 'Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix,' but you've chosen a rap song for your wedding!"

Lily twirled her eyes and smirked. "Are you talking about 'Holding Your Hand'?"

"Yep, isn't it a bit strange?"

Lily responded cheerfully, "Not strange at all! You said it yourself, I like it, and that's all that matters. Don't you like it too?"

She gazed deeply into his eyes. "What I love most is the line 'I got a ring, looking into your eyes and saying I do. This heart is yours, please cherish it.'"

Her voice was soft as she sang the line, tears welling in her eyes. One second she was smiling brightly, and the next, her tears started to fall.

"Lily, don't cry. Today is our big day." Lu Yuze smiled warmly.

She laughed through her tears, "Yuze, I'm not crying out of sadness. I'm just so happy, the day I've been waiting for is finally here!"

The excitement around the wedding had reached its peak as the staff rushed to get everything in place. The wedding planner hurriedly asked, "Where's the bride? Has anyone seen her?"

"Where did she go? We can't have the guests waiting for too long!"

Li Yuxuan, the event coordinator, was already backstage, trying to control the situation.

"What's going on? You lost the bride? How could you lose her? She's a grown woman!" Li Yuxuan scolded.

"Mr. Li, I went to the door to meet her parents as she asked, and when I came back, she was gone. I didn't do it on purpose, please don't tell the boss."

Li Yuxuan waved his hand, sighing, "Alright, go on, I'll handle it. Just don't let it happen again."

Finally, the time arrived for the wedding to begin. Guests were seated, and the hosts spoke with great enthusiasm as they introduced the couple.

"Now, we ask the bride and groom to proceed with the ceremonial bowing!"

As the ceremony went on, there were some light-hearted moments, with the bride's gown trailing behind her and a few playful remarks between the couple.

Li Yuxuan teased them a little. "Looks like the Empress wants to enter the bedroom already!"

Lily's face turned bright red, hiding behind her fan, but she still managed to speak into the microphone, "Yuze, I'm so happy today, the boy I've liked for nineteen years is finally my husband."

Tears welled up in her eyes. "Yuze, if you don't marry me today, I might never have the courage to love you again."
