The room was silent, almost unreal, as the two babies slept curled up against each other.
Their slow, steady breathing was the only sound breaking the stillness.
They didn't move for a long time, until a slight shift came from Zoro's side, a clear sign that his nap had come to an end.
His eyelids fluttered weakly before opening halfway. He let out a long yawn, stretching his small body awkwardly as he tried to chase away the last remnants of sleep clinging to his mind.
Little by little, his awareness returned.
He turned his head slightly and noticed that Toji was awake as well. Memories of the previous day surfaced immediately, one after another, with uncomfortable clarity.
A wave of embarrassment washed over him as he recalled the promise he had made.
"I'll slash them all."
…
"Damn it… I really sound like a full-on chuunibyou."
Mortified, he started squirming around, as if he could physically shake the memory out of his head.
Toji watched him with a puzzled expression, his eyes following every movement, before suddenly starting to squirm as well, clumsily copying his brother while wearing a wide grin.
"Stop copying me, you little brat," Zoro muttered, glaring at Toji.
Even so, he had to admit it—Toji's antics had helped him refocus. His thoughts slowly settled.
He stopped moving and lay back down quietly.
"…Whatever. I made a promise. I have to keep it."
Staring up at the ceiling, he paused for a few seconds, seriously considering his options.
"I need to plan ahead. If I just do whatever I want, I won't last long… especially with Kenjaku lurking in the shadows."
He took a slow breath.
I need to organize all the major events I remember.
December 7th, 1989: Gojo Satoru is born.
"From that day on, cursed spirits will become far more intelligent… and far more powerful. I have to be strong enough if I want to survive."
That was the point where the world truly began to derail.
From what he had overheard from the nurses so far, it should currently be January 1980.
"That gives me about ten years. Not much… but hopefully enough to reach at least the level of a Grade 2 sorcerer."
After the birth of the Six Eyes, Kenjaku shouldn't pay much attention to him.
Gojo's birth would be the perfect moment to start real combat.
March 7th, 2001: Yuta Okkotsu is born.
"Not really important for now. Yuta won't become interesting until about ten years later… but keeping an eye on him won't hurt."
January 20th, 2002: The Zen'in twins are born.
"Now this gets interesting."
He thought about it for a moment.
"I think I'll adopt them."
He seriously doubted Ogi would be upset about leaving his children—or rather, his problems—in someone else's hands.
"I can teach Haki to Maki. Even without fully unlocking the potential of her Heavenly Restriction, she could become as strong as—or even stronger than—her manga counterpart."
As for Mai…
"That one's a problem."
He frowned internally.
"Maybe I could use the Soul-Split Katana to sever the bond between them… but that would require Observation Haki to perceive the soul."
After torturing his brain for a good ten minutes without finding a solution, he gave up.
Future-me's problem.
"Meh. She never wanted to be a jujutsu sorcerer anyway. A normal life would probably suit her better."
December 22nd, 2002: Fushiguro Megumi is born. His mother dies shortly after.
"From here on out, things get complicated."
His interference in Toji's life would inevitably make his meeting with his future wife more difficult.
"Well… I can only pray that love is stronger than time."
Let's assume that, despite everything, Megumi is still born.
He didn't know exactly what had happened to Megumi's mother, but he would do everything in his power to keep her alive.
And as for Toji…
"I'll do whatever it takes to turn him into a responsible parent. Even if I have to break a few bones along the way."
He mentally scoffed.
"And I'll make sure Megumi never becomes the potential man."
He then wondered if he could help Megumi defeat Mahoraga.
"Since I have no cursed energy at all… the ritual should treat me like a rock, or an object, right?"
He shrugged inwardly.
"Hm. Worth a try. I'll deal with that later."
March 20th, 2003: The birth of Sukuna's vessel and nephew, the one blessed by Black Sparks, the strongest sorcerer of the future… the boy with two fathers.
"Himtadori Wuji," I thought, smiling to myself.
Yuji was, honestly, his favorite character in Jujutsu Kaisen.
He felt a little guilty admitting it, but he was looking forward to Yuji's birth even more than Megumi's.
"I can't help wondering what kind of monster he could become if I teach him Haki."
A grin formed in his mind.
"We might end up with a new Garp. Haha."
His thoughts spiraled.
Blood Manipulation.
Shrine.
Black Flash + Haki.
"We'd probably get the strongest sorcerer in history."
And since Haki was based on willpower…
"Teaching him Haki would most likely help him suppress Sukuna even better."
The only real problem would be Sukuna learning Haki as well.
But he was almost certain—
That was impossible.
Haki could only be learned by those he willingly taught. Even if Sukuna was present throughout the entire process, the simple act of refusing to teach him should prevent any awakening.
"Even if Yuji's birth marks the beginning of Kenjaku's millennium-long plan… I can't help but look forward to it."
He needed to find a way to interact with Yuji. The sooner, the better.
Summer 2006: Hidden Inventory arc. Death of the Star Plasma Vessel, Amanai Riko. Awakening of Gojo Satoru. Beginning of Geto Suguru's downfall.
The true beginning of the story.
And once again, a problem emerged.
His existence.
Toji's presence was crucial for events to unfold correctly, yet at the same time, he refused to let his brother become the man he was in the original story.
If things went wrong—or perhaps too right—he might be forced to awaken Gojo himself.
Which would mean…
"Driving my katana through the head of a sixteen-year-old kid."
He grimaced.
"I'm really not thrilled about stabbing a teenager in the skull."
But before that, another issue remained.
To carry out this plan, he first needed the strength to do so.
"So in the end, this is how things stand."
Wait until I can walk before starting training.
Train enough to be ready before the early 2000s, if possible.
Accumulate experience by fighting cursed spirits and curse users.
Improvise from the moment Megumi is born onward.
As he thought about the future, his stomach began to gurgle.
"Things are going to get… pretty hectic. But that's not the biggest problem right now."
Right now, he had to find a way to make Toji cry so that people would come and feed them.
