Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Gwen: "He must not know I'm Spider-Woman!"

"You are?"

Rhodey looked at the person, not recognizing him at all.

"I am Yamada Moto!"

The refined man introduced himself.

So he was from the Sakura Country.

No wonder he looked so polite.

However, people from that country only appear polite; secretly, they might be scheming against you!

They were typical smiling tigers.

"Oh, Mr. Yamada, hello."

Rhodey nodded at him.

Then he ignored him.

Rhodey had never had a good impression of people from the Sakura Country.

Especially not a smiling tiger.

The meeting began.

Rhodey felt extremely bored listening to the discussions of those present.

And Harry, sitting in the main seat, was also looking at the old-timers from the companies below with a forced smile.

These old guys had been giving him a hard time lately.

However, unlike the major shareholders who had already gone to hell, these old guys at most just made Harry a little unhappy and wouldn't truly threaten his position in the company.

Therefore, Harry was happy to play along with them, not resorting to a drastic measure like before!

And incidentally, Harry could also get used to the intrigues in this circle as early as possible.

After all, he would have to experience these things eventually.

It was better to adapt in advance than to be completely clueless when encountering them in the future, right?

So he was willing to spend some time fighting with these old guys. In this period, Harry felt he had truly learned a lot.

These were things he had never learned from books before.

It was real practical experience!

The meeting lasted for over an hour.

It started at 2:30 PM and ended close to 4 PM.

Rhodey barely spoke throughout the entire meeting, mostly spending his time playing on his phone.

When the meeting ended, Harry invited Rhodey to a dinner party, but Rhodey quickly refused.

"Spare me, these business banquets are the most boring."

Rhodey said with a look of disgust.

"You suffer enough yourself, don't try to drag me into it!"

Seeing Rhodey's determined refusal, Harry smiled helplessly.

"Alright, but there's a yacht party at sea on the 25th of this month, three days and two nights. You'll definitely like it, don't forget to attend then."

"We'll see if I'm free then."

Rhodey waved his hand, saying that it was only the 12th today, and he had no idea if he would have something unexpected come up on the 25th.

So;

They would see then!

However, if there was truly nothing else, he would be quite happy to attend such a yacht party.

....

Leaving the conference room floor, Rhodey took the elevator down, preparing to look for Gwen.

The elevator stopped when it reached the 15th floor.

When the elevator doors opened, Rhodey saw Gwen standing outside, holding several documents.

"Hello!"

Gwen pretended she had never seen Rhodey before and walked into the elevator.

"Hello, which floor are you going to?"

Rhodey nodded and asked.

"6th floor, thank you!"

Gwen replied.

Rhodey pressed the button for the 6th floor.

Neither of them spoke in the elevator, which was rapidly descending.

Soon, it reached the 6th floor.

"6th floor!"

Rhodey, like a gentleman, reminded Gwen.

Gwen smiled slightly at him, then stepped out of the elevator first.

Ding!

The elevator doors slowly closed.

At this moment, Rhodey looked down and saw an employee ID badge on the floor.

He picked it up and saw that it was Gwen's ID badge, the one who had just exited the elevator.

"This..."

Rhodey couldn't help but blink, feeling a strange sense of familiarity with this plot development.

At the same time;

On the 6th floor, Gwen, who had just come out of an office, also discovered that her employee ID badge was missing.

It was originally clipped to her jacket pocket, but she didn't know where it had fallen.

"Where did it go?"

Gwen couldn't help but frown.

Losing an ID badge was not a major issue, but it was still quite troublesome.

Moreover, she was just an intern, and it was not easy for her to get this internship opportunity at Osborn Group from the school. Many people were envious of her.

If someone with ill intentions were to make an issue of it, it could easily leave a bad impression of being forgetful with her mentor.

"Are you looking for this?"

Just as Gwen was getting anxious, a hand suddenly held her ID badge and extended it in front of her.

"Oh, great! Did you find it?"

"Thank you so much!"

Gwen reached out, took the ID badge, and looked up at the person.

"It's you!"

Gwen looked at Rhodey, who was standing in front of her, in surprise.

"You dropped it in the elevator just now."

Rhodey said with a smile.

"So it fell in the elevator," Gwen said. "Thank you, if it weren't for you, I might have had to get a new one, and that would definitely leave a bad impression of being forgetful with my mentor."

"It's nothing, just a small favor," Rhodey said.

"Are you also an Osborn Group employee?" Gwen asked.

Hearing this, Rhodey took out an employee ID from his pocket and waved it in front of her.

"Genuine, no doubt," he said with a smile.

Gwen saw the title of Vice President on the ID and couldn't help but exclaim, "You're the newly appointed Vice President who has never appeared at the company?!"

"Good heavens, who's been talking behind my back?" Rhodey thought to himself.

He hadn't expected that his 'invisible' Vice President status had become a subject of gossip among the employees.

"If there isn't a second one, then it must be me," Rhodey nodded.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it like that." Gwen realized she might have inadvertently complained about Rhodey and quickly apologized, saying, "President Luo, for you to reach the position of Vice President at such a young age, you must be exceptionally talented. Everyone is just curious about you, which is why they discuss it privately."

"Understood," Rhodey nodded. "Your name is Gwen, right?"

Gwen nodded.

"Midtown High School, I also graduated from there," Rhodey said.

This wasn't him making things up; he really did attend Midtown High School for his middle school years.

"I can't believe President Luo, you're my senior!" Gwen exclaimed in surprise.

She truly didn't know this.

After all, Rhodey wasn't a famous alumnus like Tony Stark who would have his photos or statues displayed at the school.

What he left behind for Midtown High School were probably just a series of romantic escapades.

But Gwen likely hadn't heard about those.
