Chapter 151 - Chapter 12 (Part 1)

After losing to Justin in a flashy way, Rotsard earned himself at least two weeks of peace… although not because of the other students being considerate on their own, but rather because vice headmaster Syon quite clearly threatened that any and everyone who would even attempt to duel Rotsard before his wounds were healed properly would be straight-up expelled from the Royal Academy.

That was an honest attempt to help the bleached-blond-haired youth out, but it carried a side effect of convincing even the previously sceptical students about the egregious amount of favoritism Rotsard was enjoying.

During the first of those two weeks, Rotsard was instructed to stay low in his room to give an appearance of his wounds being as serious as they looked.

He wasn't alone during that time, though. More often than not, a certain gold-furred trespasser would show up uninvited, appearing out of the thin air and coddling up to the bleached-blond-haired youth with no care in the world.

"You really took it to heart, didn't you? Me saying that no one should see you being so friendly with me."

"Nnnnnnnrao~!"

Rotsard would ask the baby fae while shaking his head with a smile, and Polaris would respond with content growl while stretching and pressing its back against his side.

"...!?"

"...nnraoo…"

On another day, Rotsard would wake up surrounded by complete darkness, only for him to put one hand to his face and discover that Polaris took over it as its napping spot and grumbled sleepily when he disturbed it.

And on the first day of his return to attending lectures, when Rotsard sat down in his spot, he discovered that his stomach was bulging out even more than it was before he attended the Royal Academy...!

It could almost be compared to that of a pregnant woman by someone just watching it from the side!

"..."

Immediately recognizing the fuzzy sensation brushing against his stomach, Rotsard closed his eyes for a moment before grabbing the collar of his shirt and stretching it out to look down at his own body…

"...~!"

"!"

…and be faced by an excited black nose sniffing happily, and shining honey-brown eyes staring up at him almost mischievously as the golden bear cub who materialized under his clothes and was just emanating pride over its own cleverness.

…it didn't show itself to the others after all, and who in their right mind would believe that Justin's contracted fae would want to have anything to do, much less to cling so trustingly, to Rotsard Vallhall of all people…?

It really was a fun time. Slightly annoying and inconvenient for Rotsard, but the adorableness of the baby fae made all the negative sides turn insignificant.

"..."

"...!"

Unbeknownst to either the golden bear cub or the bleached-blond-haired youth, a certain small bird perched on its master's shoulder hopped closer to her ear and whispered something, causing her brows to shoot up and making her eyes focus on that very youth.

What did her contracted fae tell her?

What did she think and assume?

Only she, Amelia Edemsworth, knew.
