Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Heavenly Space Library

It was another early morning.

As usual, Zhu Ziyang woke up at six o'clock.

As usual, he woke up his childhood friend to run around the village together, exercising their bodies.

As usual, they returned home at seven for breakfast.

As usual, he started reading at eight.

Zhu Ziyang returned to his room, sat at his desk, and then, with both hands placed on the desk, the book that had vanished under the starlight last night reappeared in his hands, and he looked completely accustomed to it.

The Interdimensional Library!

According to his memories from his previous life, this should be considered Zhu Ziyang's golden finger—a super library storing at least five hundred thousand books, an interdimensional library bound to his soul.

Because this library was bound to Zhu Ziyang's soul, any book within the library would automatically appear in his hands with just a thought, making it a heaven-sent gift for Zhu Ziyang, who loved to read.

Zhu Ziyang was not clear about the origin of this library, as it suddenly appeared when he was three years old. That's right, it appeared simultaneously with his practice of the Xiao Guangming Breathing Method.

Initially, Zhu Ziyang believed that this library, like his innate wisdom, was a remnant from his past life. However, after reading some of the books within it, this idea changed. The origin of this super library was far from simple!

This super library contained all knowledge and books recorded in writing on the Douluo Continent over hundreds of thousands of years, ever since written language became traceable. These books were either common pamphlets popular across the continent, secret and rare editions treasured in the vaults of noble families, or lost forbidden books unknown to the World.

It could be said that this library had copies of all books found in any library, archive, or secret treasure pavilion on the Douluo Continent. Conversely, no single library building on the continent could possess all the books found within this library.

For example, the book Zhu Ziyang was currently reading, "On the Impact of spirit ring Quality on Spirit Master Development," belonged to the category of lost forbidden books. Its author was a Star Luo Empire citizen from five thousand years ago. Not long after he finished writing the book, he was killed, and the book was burned, never having the chance to circulate on the Douluo Continent. Yet, such a book appeared in this library, which couldn't help but astonish Zhu Ziyang.

There were many such types of books, which made Zhu Ziyang realize one thing:

Such a massive undertaking could not be accomplished by human effort; it was more like "the World's Blessing"—a term Zhu Ziyang had seen in a book from the Church era, and he deeply agreed with it.

Given Zhu Ziyang's family background, without this super library, it would undoubtedly be a pipe dream for him to access such a vast quantity of books. It was precisely for this reason that he greatly valued the books within the super library. From the age of three until now, at six, he had already read over a thousand books!

Zhu Ziyang undoubtedly loved reading because he could gain knowledge from books, and knowledge was undoubtedly the most precious thing. Whether influenced by his past life's memories or nurtured by his current parents' attitudes, Zhu Ziyang deeply understood the power of knowledge.

In his opinion, everything in the World had pros and cons, but reading was the only thing that had only benefits and no drawbacks!

In Zhu Ziyang's view, even if he couldn't become a Spirit Master, he could still live very well on the continent by relying on the books in the super library!

Of course, he wouldn't be selling books; the super library's books would automatically return to the library if they left Zhu Ziyang's hands for more than thirty seconds.

He would naturally rely on the knowledge from the books, such as using Spirit-related knowledge to help others plan their development, or using Spirit Beast-related knowledge to help others scheme for spirit rings.

These two things were very popular among Spirit Masters.

Having read a thousand scrolls, Zhu Ziyang was definitely one of the most knowledgeable people on the continent. Even without spirit power, he would live very well; he was very confident about this.

Of course, not being able to become a Spirit Master was just the worst-case scenario.

According to the theory of bloodline inheritance, since both his parents were Spirit Masters, he would also inevitably become a Spirit Master, unless his Spirit underwent a negative mutation.

As usual, Zhu Ziyang would generally read until ten o'clock in the morning.

But not today; it wasn't even nine o'clock when someone came to disturb him.

"Ziyang-ge, why are you still reading? Uncle Changhe has already prepared the carriage! We're about to leave!"

A clear, crisp voice sounded in Zhu Ziyang's ear. A delicate-looking, sweet-smiling little girl appeared in his room. The girl's clothes were very simple, but they could not hide her adorable, doll-like cuteness. Her golden hair was tied into two small braids that hung in front of her chest, her two pink eyes were pure and transparent, and her two fair, tender hands, like freshly sprouted lotus roots, were placed in front of her, looking full of innocence and charm, making her endearing.

She was Jiang Nannan, Zhu Ziyang's childhood friend.

Zhu Ziyang met Jiang Nannan when he was two years old, which was four years ago. As the cutest girl in the village, he was naturally very happy to play with her, so the little girl was very close to him, practically treating him as her own brother.

However, Zhu Ziyang was absolutely not satisfied with the status of a brother; he wanted to be a lover… *cough cough*, having innate wisdom wasn't entirely a good thing; why did it always instill strange thoughts in him?

The little girl was half a month younger than Zhu Ziyang. Today, she was also about to awaken her Spirit, so she looked incredibly excited.

"Okay! Let's go." Zhu Ziyang put away his book, stood up, walked over to Jiang Nannan, and gently stroked the little girl's head, saying.

"Hehe~ Brother, why don't you look excited at all? We're about to awaken our Spirits!" The little girl's eyes were full of Zhu Ziyang, and her fair, tender face showed excitement as she asked.

"Excited, of course I'm excited, but Brother keeps it in his heart. This is called not showing emotions on one's face." Zhu Ziyang took Jiang Nannan's hand and, while speaking, walked out of the house.

"Oh oh~" The little girl seemed to understand and yet not, but it didn't hinder her joy and anticipation. Facing the hand Zhu Ziyang was holding, she didn't feel anything wrong. She had long been accustomed to Zhu Ziyang's presence. Even if Zhu Ziyang didn't take her hand, she would take Zhu Ziyang's hand.

In her heart, Zhu Ziyang was already the closest person to her.

When Jiang Nannan was four years old, her father became separated from the city guard team during a sweep of the back mountain and unluckily encountered an eight-hundred-year-old Spirit Beast. Jiang Nannan's father, who only had a one-ring cultivation, was already on his last breath when others found him. Although that Spirit Beast was also killed, Jiang Nannan's father did not survive.

From then on, Jiang Nannan and her frail mother depended on each other. Although there were pensions and subsidies from the City Lord's Mansion, without a pillar in the family, the mother and daughter's life was still very difficult. In this remote small city, a family without labor could be said to be a disaster.

It was from then on that Jiang Nannan became even more dependent on Zhu Ziyang. The little girl, lacking paternal love, simply could not resist Zhu Ziyang's brotherly care.
