It was Caelum's fault for taking his brother's coat just because he didn't want me to 'stain' his brother's belongings.
And thanks to that, I have an excuse to demand the coat he was wearing. Of course, he can always act the smart pants and say he'll go out to get me a dress, but I have the perfect counter for that.
I watched him stand up, my golden eyes following his movement. I watched him head towards the door, and honestly, could he be any less predictable?
"Where are you going?" I asked, but he ignored me, reaching for the door handle, but surely, I couldn't let that happen. "If you open that door and walk out now, I'll walk out right after you in this robe I'm wearing," he paused, freezing in place as his eyes began to tremble. "...and guess what everyone will say when they see me sticking close to you in nothing but a robe?"
Caelum turned around, and I stared at his trembling eyes right into their depth. He probably thought I was crazy, but he knew I wasn't bluffing.
"You..." His face contorted. "You're hellbent on ruining my reputation, aren't you?"
I simply shrugged once more.
"Think whatever you want. You're the one making this difficult." I said, and then pointed at him, specifically at his coat. "The coat." I grinned. "Just hand it over, and I'll do what you want like a good girl."
The rage in his icy grey eyes looked like he could boil me alive. He wanted to destroy me for threatening him, but he couldn't do that. He was a man of morals and wouldn't let his personal feelings ruin his family's image.
I have a feeling that he's the kind of guy who will have a secret commoner lover and refuse to show her to the world because he's not man enough to face his family's disappointment.
I mean, just saying.
Looking at the cold eyes of this man... Was he even capable of falling in love? Could there be warmth underneath all that ice? I wonder.
Well, at the end of the day, love's a farce, so I don't care.
Slowly, Caelum began to take off his coat. It was as big as the coat I wore the other day.
He threw it towards me, and I caught it, taking three steps back due to the force. This guy, did he want to throw me out the window by 'accident'? Look at him fuming while glaring at me.
I must've really hit a sore spot.
"Oh, come on, don't be like that," I said, slowly untying my robe. "I was just messing with you. No harm done."
"No harm done?" He asked, his voice dipped at the edge, almost threatening.
"Yeah, I'm just messing with you, so lighten up a bit."
Caelum turned away just before my robe fell to the floor, but I was sure he saw my upper body. Hm, not like he didn't already see it the previous day and act like he had no interest in my body.
Now he was acting like looking at my body would send him straight to hell. What a hypocrite.
The navy blue coat resembled the midnight blue jacket he had worn the previous night, but that one was made of silk, while this one was made of leather. It was thick and smelled nice too. It smelled like Caelum, and he smelled super nice.
I looked up at him and watched his backside, his shoulders seeming broader than they appeared inside the coat.
His muscles were corded, and I could tell he was extremely fit through that navy blue vest he was wearing. Just look at his arms as well. They were ripped.
Well, that's a lion for you. I'd like to take a bite of him, but that can wait for now. He's not so easy to move.
"Alright, you can turn around now," I said, adjusting my hair. The messy bun fell, so I had to brush my hair with the hairbrush to make myself look a little less unpresentable. I mean, whenever do I look unpresentable?
My face was clear, my eyes were sharp, and my feet... Empty. I still didn't have a pair of shoes.
"I need a pair of shoes," I said, and Caelum looked down at my feet.
"You can manage barefoot, let's go."
I frowned. What did he mean I can manage barefoot?
Yes, I've been barefoot this whole time, but it's not like I like being barefoot.
Where was the gentleman I had praised before? Ugh, he's so annoying.
I picked up the emblem and tucked it in the coat before I walked out after him, and the staff members stared.
Yes, this was a first for them.
They might've already guessed there was something going on between Caelum and me for him to come to my suite last night and leave after a while.
The rumors were probably already flying about, but there was no one brave enough to speak a word of it in Caelum's presence.
"Hey, slow down," I called out, seeing as he walked in long strides.
And then he stopped without warning. My face collided with his thick back.
"Oof, why'd you suddenly stop?" I asked, pinching my nose. "You almost broke my nose."
But he didn't give me a friendly look; instead, he glared, as if I had done something to cross the line.
"We're not close, so don't speak like we're close and cause a misunderstanding." He said to the hearing of all the staff watching.
I paused for a second, not expecting this, but then my face darkened.
I glared back at him, my gold eyes squinting in disdain.
"Am I your servant?" I asked in return. "Don't you dare speak down on me just because you're upset. You wanna see what I can do when I'm upset? I'll guarantee you that you won't like it, so fix that obnoxious tone of yours and keep moving."
