Alexander picked up his glass, the ring I'd gifted him glinting in the morning light. He took a slow, deliberate sip before answering.
"I have already found my prize," he rumbled, his voice reaching every part of the room. "Today, I am merely ensuring the safety of my guests."
I nearly choked on my amusement. I have already found my prize. The sheer audacity of it, spoken right in front of the Prince, made a thrill of wicked delight run down my spine.
"How noble," I purred, standing up and smoothing the leather of my hunting trousers. I could feel all four pairs of eyes snap to me instantly. "But enough talk. The sun is already climbing, and I'm eager to see who among you is a true predator and who is just wearing the skin."
I turned to Maegel, offering him a hand with a mock-innocent tilt of my head.
"Shall we, my Prince? I'd hate for you to lose your lead before the horses are even saddled."
