Every night at exactly nine o'clock, a small light turned on in the last window of the old house on Hill Street. No one lived there anymore—at least, that's what people believed. The house was quiet, dusty, and forgotten, yet the light never failed.
Liam noticed it first while walking home from work. Curious, he stopped one evening and stared at the window. The light flickered, as if someone inside was waiting.
Gathering his courage, Liam knocked on the door. To his surprise, it slowly opened. Inside, he found an elderly woman sitting by a lamp, smiling softly.
"I keep the light on," she said, "for my husband. He promised he'd find his way back."
