Evangeline locked her crimson eyes onto the apparition. "So... who are you, and what do you want from me?"
"Hmm..." The old woman hummed thoughtfully, swaying slightly. "Time will reveal whether you are worthy of knowing my identity or not. But for now, you may call me Rudbeka."
"Fine, Rudbeka," Evangeline shot back, keeping her composure. "What are you doing here with me? Why did you follow me in the first place? Is this the 'punishment' you were talking about?"
"Yes, this is it," Rudbeka murmured, stretching her arms out to gesture at the blinding emptiness. "Isn't it beautiful? A perfectly white room."
Evangeline looked around the stark, sterile void. "And what's supposed to be so terrifying about a white room?"
"Terrifying?" Rudbeka chuckled, a dry, hollow sound. "There is nothing terrifying about the room itself. The terror lies within your own mind, and its inability to process a world entirely stripped of color. Look at your dress, for instance. Or the door."
