Chapter 12 - ALMOST BUT ALWAYS DISTURBED

JAY JAY POV

"Are you insane?" he breathed, his eyes dark and intense. "You just punched a guy whose family has a direct line to the police and your father."

"He deserved it!" I barked, trying to squirm out from under him. "He called you a son of a bitch, Keifer! I wasn't going to just stand there!"

Keifer's expression softened slightly, his anger giving way to a sort of stunned disbelief.

He looked at my reddening knuckles and then back at my face.

"You're a tiny, terrifying person, Jay Jay Watson," he whispered, his voice dropping an octave. "But don't ever do that again. I can handle Yuri. I can't handle seeing you get in trouble because of me."

He leaned down, his forehead resting against mine, his heart thudding against my chest.

"My hand hurts," I admitted quietly, the adrenaline starting to fade and the sting of the punch finally hitting me.

Keifer let out a dry, shaky laugh. "I bet it does. He's got a thick skull." He let go of my wrists and brought one of his hands up to cup my face. "But God, you were incredible back there."

The sting in my hand was nothing compared to the fire Keifer was igniting in me.

I reached up, pulling his head down to mine and crashing our lips together.

It was a hungry, desperate kiss—one that carried all the stress of the last week, the anger toward Yuri, and the sheer, overwhelming relief of finally being free.

Keifer groaned into my mouth, his hands moving from my face to tangle in my hair, pulling me closer until there wasn't a single inch of air left between us.

He kissed me like he was starving, his tongue tracing my lips before deepening the contact. Everything we had been holding back

"Jay," he gasped against my lips, his voice thick with a mix of adoration and raw desire.

He shifted, his weight pressing me deeper into the mattress.

His hands, usually so gentle and careful, were firm and possessive now.

I wrapped my legs around his waist, pulling him in, wanting to lose myself in the feeling of being his

"You're mine," he murmured, his kisses trailing down to my jaw and then to the sensitive skin of my neck, right where he knew it drove me crazy. "Only mine."

"Always," I managed to say, my arching my back as he found a particularly sensitive spot

Keifer's breath hitched, hot and ragged against my skin.

His lips continued their trail down from my jaw to my collarbone, leaving a stinging warmth in their wake.

I ran my fingers through his hair, tugging him closer as his hands slid under the hem of the oversized hoodie I'd borrowed from him.

The heavy fabric felt rough against my sensitized skin as he slowly pulled it upward. He worked it over my head and tossed it blindly to the floor.

When he looked back down at me, his eyes darkened, roaming over my bare skin.

"God, Jay… you're not wearing a shirt," Keifer murmured, his voice dropping into a low, gravelly rasp.

He pressed his face against my cleavage, his nose brushing the skin.

I let out a sharp gasp, my fingers digging into his shoulders as a shiver raced down my spine.

"I told you… I was out of clothes," I whispered breathlessly, my heart hammering against my ribs so hard I was sure he could feel it.

He chuckled darkly, a vibration that traveled through my entire body. "Best discovery of my life," he muttered.

He leaned back just enough to look me in the eye, his hands coming up to cup my waist, his thumbs tracing the line of my ribs.

The intensity in his gaze made me feel like I was melting into the mattress.

"I love you so much it hurts," he whispered, before bending down to claim my lips once more, his touch turning more urgent, more possessive, as the rest of the world faded into nothingness.

"I love you too, Keifer," I breathed out, my voice trembling as I arched my back, leaning into his touch.

The cool air of the room hit my skin, but I hardly felt it because of the heat radiating from him.

He groaned at the movement, his hands sliding from my waist to my back, pulling me up so there was no space left between us.

Every touch felt electric, a frantic language of all the things we couldn't say when we were hiding our relationship.

He began to trail kisses down my chest, his movements slow and deliberate, making me lose my breath again and again.

"You have no idea," he murmured against my skin, "how many nights I spent dreaming of having you like this. Just us. No one else."

I tangled my fingers in his hair, pulling him back up to meet my gaze. His eyes were blown wide with desire, reflecting the same raw need I felt.

I reached out, my hands trembling slightly as I grasped the hem of his shirt and pulled it over his head.

We had to break the kiss for a fleeting second, but as soon as his skin was bare against mine, he was back, his mouth finding my jaw and trailing fire down to my neck and collarbone.

The friction of his chest against mine made my head spin.

I buried my face in the crook of his neck, my teeth catching my lip, desperately trying to swallow the sounds I was making.

But when he moved lower and nipped sharply at the soft skin of my shoulder, a loud, broken moan escaped me, echoing through the small, quiet room.

"Don't hold back, Jay Jay," Keifer whispered hoarsely against my skin, his hand sliding down to grip my hip, anchoring me to him.

"There's no one here to hear us. It's just us."

I let go of my restraint, my hands roaming over the muscles of his back, pulling him closer and closer until I couldn't tell where I ended and he began

Just as Keifer's fingers reached the clasp of my bra, the shrill ring of my phone sliced through the silence of the room.

"Ignore it," Keifer muttered, his voice thick with desire as he let his lips linger on my shoulder.

I nodded, fully intending to stay in the moment, but the caller was persistent.

They called again immediately after the first one ended.

"Maybe I should pick it up... it might be important," I said, reluctantly sitting up to grab the phone.

The screen read Aries.

"Jay?" Aries's voice came through as soon as I answered.

"Yes, Aries, I'm here," I said, putting it on speaker so Keifer could hear too.

Keifer rolled his eyes dramatically, clearly annoyed by the interruption, and rolled me back over.

He didn't let the phone stop him; he just started peppering my neck with kisses again.

"So, Jay, like I mentioned before, I want to come see your new place over the weekend," Aries said.

"Yeah, of course you can," I replied, my voice slightly strained as I tried to push Keifer's head away.

He wasn't budging.

"Right. Is it cool if I stay for three days?" Aries asked.

"Of course," I answered, then paused. "But the weekend is only two days?"

Keifer finally stopped the heavy kissing and flopped down next to me, but he hadn't given up on his antics.

He began tracing the hem of my shorts with his finger, a playful, mischievous smirk on his face.

"Yeah, we have a holiday on Monday, and I don't have many classes on Friday. So I'll be there Friday night and stay until Monday night," Aries explained.

"S-sure, that works!" I stammered, my breath catching because Keifer had just given my waist a firm, playful squeeze.

"Cool. I'll text you the flight info. Love you, Jay," Aries said.

"Love you too," I managed to get out before hanging up and tossing the phone aside. I turned to Keifer, who was still looking incredibly smug.

"You're a brat, you know that?"

"I'm a brat who wants his wife back," Keifer countered, pulling me back into his arms.

"And since your brother is taking over our living room for three days starting Friday, I think we need to make the most of tonight."

"I'm hungry," I said, my stomach letting out a perfectly timed growl that broke the tension.

Keifer let out a reluctant groan, burying his face in my neck for one last second before sighing. "Fine, fine. Let's go and eat"

I laughed and reached for the floor, trying to find the hoodie he had tossed aside earlier.

I was about to pull it back on when Keifer's hand shot out, catching my wrist and stopping me.

"No need," he said, his eyes scanning me with a playful, appreciative glint. "It's just you and me here, Jay."

I felt my cheeks heat up as I looked down at myself, then back at him. "You little pervert,"

I teased, hitting his bare chest lightly with my free hand. "You just want me walking around the kitchen like this while you eat, don't you?"

"Guilty," he admitted with a shameless grin, leaning in to steal one more quick kiss.

"Besides, it's a tiny apartment. Why waste time on laundry? I'll go start the pasta, you just… come as you are."

He hopped off the bed, looking entirely too comfortable in just his jeans, and headed toward the kitchen.

I stayed on the bed for a moment, shaking my head at his boldness.

This is definitely a different side of Keifer, I thought with a smile.

Picking up one of his oversized button-down shirts from the chair instead of the heavy hoodie, I threw it on but left it open, deciding to meet him halfway.

When I walked into the kitchen, he was already boiling water, humming to himself.

He turned around, saw what I was wearing—or rather, what I wasn't—and nearly dropped the box of pasta.

"Better?" I asked, leaning against the counter.

"Much," he rasped, turning back to the stove while shaking his head. "Though I have a feeling dinner is going to take a lot longer than usual to finish."
