Chapter 6: I'm Having Fun
Before the Nameless Monarch returned to his kingdom, the Goddess of Dreams stopped him.
"There is something I wish to know," she said.
"What will you do with your kingdom?"
The Monarch answered without hesitation.
"I will give it to the God of Destruction."
The Goddess of Dreams froze.
Everyone knew the truth of that name.
The Nameless Monarch and the God of Destruction were opposites—like two ends of a broken law. They repelled each other by nature alone. Their hatred was not political, nor personal. It was fundamental. If either had ever been given a perfect chance to kill the other, neither would have hesitated.
The Goddess of Dreams stared at him.
The Nameless Monarch possessed the power to kill the God of Destruction within a single day.
Yet he never did.
Because on the day he surpassed him, the Monarch understood something.
Fighting the God of Destruction would be an insult—to himself.
The God of Destruction was weak compared to him.
And yet—
He was still so strong that no god dared to confront him. No god except the Nameless Monarch.
That contradiction alone made the God of Destruction terrifying.
The Goddess of Dreams imagined the moment.
The reaction on the God of Destruction's face when he heard this proposal.
The reaction of the world when it learned of it.
Empires would tremble.
Gods would turn silent.
The Goddess of Dreams looked at the Monarch once more.
He smiled faintly.
"I'm having fun," he said.
