Chapter 29 – Protection

The battlefield was ready.

Immortals stood in formation.

Lower gods gathered with their factions.

Medium, high-ranking, king-level, emperor-level—even epic gods prepared themselves.

Armies stretched endlessly across the horizon.

Weapons gleamed.

Auras clashed.

War was about to begin.

Then—

Nameless rose into the sky.

No one saw when he moved.

One moment he was on the ground.

The next—

He stood above everything.

His presence exploded outward.

A pressure descended across the battlefield so vast that even high-ranking gods stiffened.

An immortal looked up at him—

And froze.

Nameless did not look like a participant anymore.

He looked like a deity.

Pure power radiated from him. Calm. Overwhelming. Absolute.

Even beings at the level of Astrael and Varunesh felt something strange.

Not fear.

Not pressure.

But… a strange sense of awe.

Pleasure.

As if witnessing something beyond their level.

Slowly—

One by one—

Everyone bowed.

Nameless looked down at the entire battlefield.

Then he spoke.

His voice echoed everywhere.

"No armies will fight."

The words hit like thunder.

Shock spread instantly.

Nameless continued calmly.

"Only the participants of the God Tournament will fight."

He raised a finger.

"Five hundred immortals… fighting to become gods."

"Four hundred lower gods… to become medium gods."

"Three hundred medium gods… to become higher gods."

"Two hundred higher gods… to become king-level gods."

"One hundred king-level gods… to become emperor-level gods."

"Fifty emperor-level gods… to become epic gods."

"Fifteen epic gods… to become celestial gods."

He paused.

"And two celestial gods…"

His eyes shifted slightly.

"…to fight each other."

Silence dominated the battlefield.

Then his tone changed slightly—playful, but dangerous.

"In this tournament…"

"Only the ones I mentioned will fight."

He smiled faintly.

"If anyone else interferes…"

He tilted his head.

"I don't care about morals or morality."

A few gods swallowed nervously.

Nameless shrugged lightly.

"I'm a good person."

Then his smile widened.

"But… you all know my personality, right?"

A ripple of uneasy laughter spread.

Then—

Nameless raised his hand.

Golden energy burst from him like sunlight.

It spread across the entire battlefield in an instant.

Immortals gasped.

Gods widened their eyes.

The power—

It felt equal to a Celestial God.

No—

It felt even more refined.

The golden energy descended like a blessing.

And then—

It formed.

A barrier.

Every single participant was surrounded.

The 500 immortals were wrapped in thick golden layers.

The gods were covered in thinner—but far more refined—energy.

Even the Celestial Gods themselves were not excluded.

Nameless' voice echoed again.

"Anyone who is critically injured…"

"…will be automatically removed from the battlefield."

"Eliminated."

No deaths.

No unnecessary destruction.

Only victory and defeat.

Then he added casually—

"And one more thing."

He slowly descended from the sky.

"I am the judge."

He landed lightly.

"You can also call me…"

A small grin appeared on his face.

"The referee."

The golden barrier shimmered around every participant.

This was not just protection.

It was control.

Absolute control.

High above—

Astrael glanced sideways.

"I made a mistake."

Beside him, Varunesh didn't look surprised.

"I knew it."

Because now it was clear.

This battlefield—

Did not belong to armies.

Did not belong to gods.

It belonged to one being.

Nameless.
