Chapter 41 — What Is Happening?
Nameless stepped back into the battlefield, calm and composed, unaware that he had just made a critical mistake.
He had forgotten one thing.
The other fragment of his soul.
His personal domain was directly connected to his soul. Everything that happened inside it did not just affect his body—it affected his very existence. While Nameless spent decades adapting his body to divine energy, his soul had also remained inside that domain.
And it had changed.
The fragmented part of his soul, the one that existed in another world, had also been pulled into that timeless space. It had time—endless time—to grow, to reconstruct, to evolve.
It absorbed everything.
Every trace of divine energy Nameless released while training.
Every fluctuation of power.
Every fragment of control he gained.
That broken piece… was no longer weak.
It had become equal.
Nameless had previously forced the fusion to stop at around sixty percent, suppressing the connection between his souls. But now, that balance was broken.
The fragment had grown too strong.
And it was no longer asking.
It was forcing the connection.
Seventy percent.
Seventy-five.
The fusion continued to rise without his permission.
Meanwhile, the battlefield was in complete chaos.
Varnesh and Astriel were fighting like true monsters, their bodies covered in deep wounds and scars. Blood dripped from Astriel's head, while Varnesh had lost an entire arm—only for a new one to regenerate instantly.
Their healing abilities were beyond comprehension.
Not far from them, the two archers were also in a brutal state. One had lost both arms, the other his legs. Yet within seconds, their bodies regenerated, restoring them completely.
But not everyone was that fortunate.
Many fighters had lost limbs permanently.
Nameless, distracted but still aware, moved instinctively. In flashes of speed no one could follow, he teleported across the battlefield, collecting the injured and restoring their bodies.
Limbs regrew.
Bodies healed.
The war continued.
Endlessly.
Violently.
But then—
Something changed.
Astriel suddenly froze mid-air.
Varnesh stopped as well.
Both of them looked at their hands in confusion.
Their energy… was being pulled away.
Flowing.
Leaking.
Moving toward something else.
They both turned their heads in the same direction.
Nameless.
At the same time, the two archers paused. Their arrows failed to form properly, the energy refusing to gather.
"Where is my power going?" one of them muttered.
They followed the flow.
And saw him.
Nameless stood at the center of it all, completely still.
Energy from across the battlefield was being drawn into him—divine energy, spirit energy, everything.
Even Nameless himself looked confused.
"This… wasn't me."
Then he understood.
The other fragment.
It had taken control.
It was forcing the fusion by absorbing everything around them.
Nameless's body began to crack.
Lines of light spread across his skin as if his very existence was breaking apart. The overwhelming energy surged uncontrollably within him, tearing through his control.
He looked at Astriel and Varnesh.
For the first time, there was urgency in his voice.
"Run."
A blinding radiance exploded from his body.
The entire battlefield was swallowed in light.
The air trembled.
Space distorted.
And in that moment—
The soul compatibility reached one hundred percent.
Nameless stood at the center of the explosion, whispering to himself—
"So… this is what happens."
