"Wake up, Tim. It's the day of your coming of age Ritual." My mother said that before she kissed me, when I opened my eyes, I noticed her holding a baby girl.
Mother had given birth to my daughter a few months ago, and both my sister and Mrs Williams had become pregnant. Which is understandable, as I would make love to them every single chance I got—even several times at that.
"How is my little Jasmin doing?" I said, playing with my daughter's hand, how she giggled and smiled, and I smiled back.
"Get dressed, you have to head to the Church in an hour." Mother said, before walking out with our baby.
Time to show the world what I had been working on for the last year. I had to meet Älva later, as we had started dating. I hadn't taken her first time yet, as I wanted to wait until her coming of age ritual.
Getting dressed, my mother and Jasmin left a little early to meet up with my sister, so I was the last to leave the house, making my way to the Church as all the kids my age were there. There were only ten of us, as it was a small village. I noticed two women that I hadn't seen before.
They must be part of the Kingdom's Academy sent here to see if there were any good kids in the bunch. As I looked at the women, I noticed both of them had mana pools over four thousand, making them Mythic rank.
At least when it comes to mana, I don't know about fighting ability yet, as I haven't run into anyone who could fight other than monsters. But monsters are naturally stronger than humans and other human-like beings. I looked at one of the women; she had an ample chest like my mother's, long brown hair, and blue eyes. Her skin was lightly tanned.

She was the highest mana value I had seen yet, making me struggle to pick between them, so I made up my mind to have both of them. I mean, why not? As I was in thought, the Priest began to speak.
"Children, today is your coming of age Ritual. This is the day your life will be set, if you are to head to the Kingdom's Academy or stay here. Now, when I call your name, please come forward to this crystal. It will show you your mana pool size. Once you are done, we will have you place your hand on this one for what kind of job you will have." He said.
The first one he called was a girl who looked nervous as she placed her hand on the crystal; the number 1,800 appeared, making her smile. You had to make it to the common level at least to go to the Academy. She was happy she had made it as she walked over and placed her hand on the crystal, which showed a healer.
The next one was a boy; he looked pumped, but the moment he touched the crystal, it showed only 500, draining his energy. It's not like he couldn't make a living with that 500; it's just you can't fight with a mana pool under 1000 as it drains quickly. The bottom value is set so people can fight for at least ten minutes, which helps them survive.
He got the job as a blacksmith, and his face looked somewhat better. But he looked like someone who wanted to fight monsters and make a name for themselves. His dream was destroyed before he could even step onto the path.
Next up was the Village Chief's son, whom I knew of. He was a kid with a big ego and would abuse his father's power whenever he could. He walked up to the crystal and placed his hand on it, making me shocked. As it showed 3,200, making him a Rare rank, this was going to go to his head for sure.
He smiled, looking around, and spoke. "You see that, I am destined for greatness and will make this Village's name be known!" He said before walking over to the Job stone and placing his hand on it. He got the Paladin class, making his ego even higher as I chuckled.
He pulled out his wooden sword and pointed it at me. "Is something funny, Tim?" He said, making me shrug. "I just think that the way you acted was amusing. That's all, Jason." I said, making him scuff.
"I bet you won't even get a high mana pool, after all, your mother is a whore." He said, making me grab him by the collar of his shirt. That rumor had been spreading ever since her mother got pregnant, and she was a widow. All the adult men in the village were married, so the only way she could have done that was if she was the adulterer's lover of one of them.
But they had no clue it was me. "Say that one more fucking time and I will rip your tongue out and use it as toilet paper after my next shit!" I yelled out, making everyone gasp. "Unhand my son right now!" The village chief said, making me let go.
"You'd better watch your tongue, Jason, or it will get you killed," I said before walking away, leaving everyone in shock, but the two women standing against the wall.
"That little guy has spirit and guts," Kaelira said to the Baroness, making her nod.
"He is interesting, he was the only child looking at us before the Priest told them about us." She said to Kaelira.
The other seven children were called up, with only one other girl making the cut at 1,500, before I was finally called up. My mother and sister watched along with Mrs Williams as she rubbed her stomach. I placed my hand on the crystal, and a burst of light spread through the Church, the number 60,000 appearing, shocking everyone.
"Impossbile!" Jason yelled out.
"Oh, I am liking him even more." The Baroness said with Kaelira nodding.
I had made sure that I got at least 10,000 in each mana pool, that way I wouldn't be hurting for mana for anykind of summoning. As I looked back at mom and sister, they both cried and hugged each other, then my eyes fell on Mrs Williams, and I smiled. She and my mom grew close because both were the subject of the same rumor.
"Tim, right this way." The Priest said, leading me to the Job Crystal, and I knew the moment my summoner job was shown, Jason was going to start something. Placing my hand on the stone, the glow began as the words summoner showed.
"What a shame, he could have been great." The Baroness and Kaelira said.
"What good is a large mana pool when you have a useless job like a summoner? You will be locked up as a breeding horse," Jason said as others muttered. My mother and sister came up to say something when I spoke.
"Put your money where your mouth is, let's have a duel, and if I win, apologize to my mother for your cruel words. If I lose, I will walk around the village naked." I said with a grin full of contempt.
"You're nothing but a summoner. Why would someone as noble as me fight you?" He said. His words made me burst out laughing.
"So you're a coward, you could have just said you were too scared to fight me," I said.
"Young man, it's best to let this slide. You are a summoner and he is a Paladin, your classes don't match up." The Baroness said as she and Kaelira walked up.
I bowed and spoke. "I have faith in him for my Class. And I know for a fact he won't even be able to touch me. But I will make a wager with the two of you, if I beat him, both of you will become my teachers." I said.
My words took the two of them aback as Kaelira spoke. "Your pride will be your downfall. What makes you think you are worthy of us teaching?" She said.
"I will prove I am if this coward has the balls to fight me," I said, looking at Jason, who lost his temper.
"Fine, you are on, Tim!" He yelled out, storming towards the door, and I followed.
