Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Exploring Asgard

"Oh come on Father, you really expect me to teach a human? Let alone dabble in our Asgardian arts?", Loki said, still shocked to hear Odin suddenly say that.

"You will, and you shall, Loki.", Odin said, standing his ground. "And it may not just be you, Loki. This human carries himself well. Albeit rudimentary, he knows a thing or two about swordsmanship. Or are my eyes wrong?"

"You aren't wrong.", I replied, finally taking a moment to regain my composure. "I can hold my own in a fight."

"That is most excellent, friend!", Thor said as his eyes beamed. "I shall show you to the arena for us to have a bout later. They say clashing is the quickest way to develop a bond. I am very much looking forward to it!"

"Hahaha...", I uttered with a dry laugh. That is a very Thor thing to say, isn't it? "Please go easy on me. How shall I address you all? Do Asgardians hold a certain amount of etiquette?"

"We do. You can call me the Allfather.", Odin said, introducing himself. "And as for these two, they are Loki and Thor. You can call them however you like."

"Hey!", Loki shot back. "I refuse to stand on equal footing with a human. You shall address me as the God of Mischief---?", Loki tried to say, only to get a hard swing with Thor's hammer. Thwack!

"Enough, Brother. You are in the presence of Father. You best stay your tongue, unless you want to receive a lashing later.", Thor said, reprimanding Loki.

"Fine. Fine. It's not like I can refuse a request from Father anyway...", Loki said, and sighed. As he was facing his new reality of potentially becoming my teacher, I too was trying to face this reality myself.

Somehow, I wound up in Asgard. A place that I didn't want to visit for quite some time, but did so as a joke. I did not think the Bifrost would actually react to me. What kind of bullsh*ttery is at play this time? Is it really involving ID Creation? I can only assume it's that...

At the very least, I didn't die the moment the Bifrost carried me here. There was a very good chance of that happening since Heimdall is here. That alone is a win. Now, I can play along. Odin seems friendly on the outside, and is considering me a guest. And well, Loki is being Loki while Thor is being Thor. Do I need to say anything further about that?

I may be able to quickly develop my Stats if I do end up sparring against Thor, even if our Levels are vastly different. While the Asgard Arena does hold life-and-death battles, that won't be the case here. Spars are very different, and I am actually looking forward to fighting Thor.

As for Loki, well, he is a much more tricky opponent to deal with. To my surprise, Odin gave Loki a request to teach me Asgardian Magic. Let alone deciding whether to learn Mystic Arts from Kamar-Taj, learning Asgardian Magic is much more of a win in my eyes. It involves a variety of techniques. Illusion Manipulation. Presence Concealment. Telekinesis, and Enchanting weapons and armor. There's even Conjuring and Energy Projection. Asgardian Magic covers a wide array of Spells. If given an opportunity, let alone this early, who wouldn't want to learn it?

I just need to be careful whenever I'm with Loki. Rule number one, do not trust him. Ever. He is a backstabbing son of a b*tch who will do anything to get his own way. All the way up to his death by Thanos when he gets his windpipe crushed by sheer force alone.

At the same time, I enjoy Loki's character. I loved his show once he entered the TVA!

Loki and I exchanged glances, and I didn't back down.

"Good. Then we're all in agreement. Thor, you will show our friend around first. We should have plenty of spare rooms available.", Odin said. "Heimdall, please continue watching the Bifrost, just in case something else happens."

"I shall do so at once, Allfather.", Heimdall said, and looked at me. "You are now under the grace of the Allfather. Do not look at this the wrong way. If you disturb the peace here, I will come and hunt you down, human."

"Loud and clear.", I said with a serious nod of my head.

"Very well. Let us return to Asgard Palace.", Odin said, and turned around, urging me to follow him. Loki scoffed again, but remained silent. Thor just watched me, clearly interested. And yet, before we did anything else, Loki spoke out.

"I don't need this. Good luck showing our "dear friend" around, Brother. Until he is ready to learn Asgardian Magic, do not interrupt me.", Loki suddenly said.

"W-Wait, you can't just leave. Loki!", Thor called out. He reached his hand out, only to be met with an illusion. Loki's figure blurred out of existence, leaving Thor alone. Seeing this, Odin sighed.

"That Loki...", Odin said, and sighed. "He means no harm, friend. He will teach you our Asgardian Magic once the time is ready. Do you have a name you go by?"

"You may call me Myles, Allfather.", I said, remaining respectful.

"Very well. Myles it is.", Odin said as we continued walking along the long rainbow bridge that connected to the Bifrost Observatory.

It was then everything hit me. How beautiful Asgard is. Asgard Palace stood proudly in the near distance. Its golden splendor shone in all directions. It's just as grand as it appeared in the movies. It's much more so looking at it in person like this!

At the same time, I saw a Gamer Notification come through. I almost stumbled over and fell off the Bifrost Bridge right then and there.

[Ding! Bifrost Observatory has been registered into your Fast Travel list.]

No f*cking way. It really did add Asgard to my Fast Travel! That means I can come here instantly whenever I feel like it. That will likely lead to some problems if I do it out of the blue. I'll need to keep that in mind whenever I decide to use Fast Travel. To begin with, I decided to speak to Odin.

"Say Allfather, is it alright if I try something first before you bring me to the palace?", I decided to ask.

"Hmm? What may that be?", Odin responded, becoming interested.

"Do you want to fight here on the bridge instead of the arena, friend?", Thor asked. I wanted to smack him on the head for saying that, but kept that thought to myself.

"If it works, Heimdall will be the one greeting me. Here goes nothing!", I said, ignoring Thor's remark.

Pulling up the Fast Travel list, I selected Asgard Observatory. Wooosh!

Thor suddenly saw my entire figure vanish from sight. I had reappeared in front of the large Bifrost. Even Heimdall just stared at me, not expecting me to appear so suddenly like that.

"Haha. It actually works!", I happily said. Odin turned around, only to see me back with Heimdall.

"Was that magic just now?", Odin questioned. "Strange, I did not detect any magic used whatsoever. Our new friend sure is an interesting one, isn't he?"

"Now that I think about it, humans shouldn't know magic to begin with, should they? I have not visited Midgard in quite some time. Perhaps it will do me good to see its state of affairs.", Thor said, wondering if he should do that.

"Midgard is of no threat to us, Thor. Let them be for the time being. We'll just treat this as an unexpected, yet beneficial event. We can see how Midgard is faring through Myles.", Odin said, before quickly shaking that remark aside.

"Very well, Father.", Thor said, only to yell out to me. "Come along now, Myles. There is still a lot to do before you can stroll freely around Asgard later!"

"Got it. I'll be there in a moment!", I said, and quickly hurried off after Odin and Thor. Thankfully, they weren't too far away. As for Heimdall, he didn't say anything to begin with.

It wasn't until we were out of sight did Heimdall speak again. A serious look remained in his eyes.

"Myles, was it? It would be best to keep my eyes on you. Not just anyone can come and go through the Bifrost like that. Who are you?", Heimdall asked himself, before returning to his guard duty.

With that being said, I just decided to go with the flow for the time being. Asgard was a city of spires. The higher one went, the higher authority you held. At least, that's my impression of it. Each structure was vast, containing polished stone and shining metal that was constructed from ancient times. Bridges connected towers, stretching across the vast open sky.

The lower level of Asgard included markets, homes, training grounds, and halls where thousands of Asgardians lived, according to their code. I was greeted with many eyes once we crossed through the streets. Asgardians. Their attire was very different to what I'm used to on Planet Earth. And likewise, I'm sure they were surprised to see me tagging along with Odin.

But Odin rules all of Asgard. It's not like anyone can contend with him. This isn't like America where it is run by the US Government. Odin has the final say here to what happens, and what doesn't.

And Odin is going out of his way to guide me to the Royal Palace of Asgard. The home of Odin, Loki, and Thor. I'll likely get to meet Frigga too, Odin's wife.

I very well know I'm not in my previous Planet Earth anymore. I was getting a huge reality check during all of this. I really am in the MCU, and I'm here to enjoy it all. Both the good, and the bad!

As the three of us wandered through the streets, the feeling of being small grew steadier and steadier. It was like dropping a single drop of water into a vast ocean. But I held my head high. I knew well this was not the time to back down now. At the same time, I saw admiration in the eyes of the Asgardians. Odin would even return their greetings with his own.

The Allfather didn't need to announce where he was going. Just his being alone did that. After some time, I took a quick glance, and it read March 2nd, 02:00 PM. A couple hours passed by before knowing it.

Before long, we were now standing in front of the Royal Palace.

"This sure is quite the place. My home pales in comparison to such splendor.", I said, giving a genuine compliment. I couldn't even fathom how much it took to construct such a palace.

"Welcome to Asgard, Myles. I will return to the Throne Room. Thor will show you around the palace.", Odin said. He did not wait for the two of us before vanishing from sight. He had no reason to. He ruled this place after all.

"Now that Father has returned to the Throne, shall we? Where would you like to go first?", Thor asked.

"Can you show me where I will be staying before anything else? That way, I'll know where to go, if I am left alone after this.", I answered.

"Very well. Follow me. I did not think I would get an opportunity to show a human around the palace. Once you're settled. We can make our way to the Arena!", Thor said, and did a hearty laugh.

"We'll see. If we do end up fighting, please go easy on me."

"Hahaha! I am quite looking forward to seeing how you fight. Follow me.", Thor said, and proceeded to guide me inside...
