The chen household was lively once again.

world had spread quickly that chen ming had finally opened his eyes and the villagers could not resist coming see him.

the small house filled with cheerful voice and soft laughter.

chen linger sat in the center holding chen ming carefully while the village women gathered around her.

one women leaned closer and smiled brightly.

"sis chen linger look at his eyes! they're so beatiful".

linger's face lit up with pride.

mhm...i know, when he finally opened them we were so happy"

another women laughed softly.

"well bao ying, don't scare him or brother ting will scold us"

bao ying crossed her arms dramatically.

"yao yang! i'm not that scary, look at you—your face scarier then a gost!"

yao yang gasped in mock offense.

"what? i'm scary? i'm sure he see you as the joker!"

the two began their small playful argument pointing fingers at each other like children.

chen ming watched them carefully.

his big around eyes followed their exaggerated expressions.

then—

he laughed.

a soft, bubbling baby laugh. both women froze they slowly turned to look at him. shen ming's tiny mouth curved into a dazzling smile, eyes sparkling with innocent amusement.

their heart instanly melted. bao ying clutched her chest dramatically."yang'er...he sees us clowns".

yao yang snorted. "what's wrong with that? if he laughs, i don't mind being a clown".

they both leaned closer, completely forgetting their argument. "aiyo look at the smile..."

"so cute...."

chen ting stood at the doorway, shaking his head with a fond smile. "he already charming the whole villag," he said.

outside, children ran though the streets. smoke rose from kitchen chimneys. the village buzzed with simple happiness and in the center of it all—chen ming laughed again.

for now he was just a baby just a child loved by everyone and the entire village felt brighter because of his smile.

several peacful days passed in the village.

in the chen household, morning light filled the room as chen linger sat a short distance away from her son her arms open wide. "come on ming're... you can do it. come to mother".

chen ming sat on the soft mat, wobbling sightly. his small hands pressed against the floor as he looked at her. his eyes were bright, focused slowly— he moved one hand forward then another he began to crawl it wasn't fast. it wasn't steady. but it was determined.

chen linger's eyes shone with encouragement. "yes you can do it ming're.that's right!"

chen ting stood nearby watching quietly, his expression full of pride.

chen ming paused halfway, blinking as if gathering strength. then he gave a tiny determined sound and continue crawling.

step by step.

little by little.

until finally— he reached her.

chen linger laughed with pure joy and quickly lifted him into her arms. "you did it!you did it!" she kissed his fore head gently.

chen ting clapped soflty. "our ming is strong"

Linger looked into her son's eyes and smiled warmly."You will have a great future," she whispered.Chen Ming looked back at her.And gave a small, sweet smile. For a brief moment—The sunlight around them seemed warmer.

the air calmer as if even the heavens quietly acknowledges her words. but to chen ting and chen linger— he simply their child. their ming.

and that was more than enough.

the next morning chen ting went to the nearby maket town to work as usual while helping unload grain sacks, he overheard a group a merchants speaking hushed tones. "...then northern empire is searching for chen couple".

chen ting paused and he turned casually and asked trying to keep his voice steady. "brother can you tell me more about that?"

then man nodded. "oh yeah i heard they're looking for chen couple. they say the man was born with holy body constitution and that's why they've been searching in southern regions"

then chen ting felt his heartbeat quicken, but he forced a calm expression. "i see thank you information."

he didn't wait any longer. he finished quickly and hurried back to the village.

when he reached home he paused open the door slightly out of breath. linger was sitting inside chen ming in her arms gently rocking him.

chen ting scanned the room quickly. "linger... did anyone come here?"

she looked confused. "no why?"

he stepped closer lowering his voice. "the northern empire is looking for us"

her face changed instantly. "what? how would they even know about this place?"

he shook his head ." i heard they're searching the southern side. they may not know this exact village yet... but they're looking".

silence filled the room linger tightened her hold on chen ming. "dear... we can't keep running forever".

chen ting looked at his son who blinked up to them innocently. "but if they find us… what will they do? And Ming… what if they harm him?"

before linger could respond, a calm voice came from the doorway."you two don't need to go anywhere".

they both turned it was village elder.he stepped inside slowly."you two belong to this village now" he continued. "and we protect our own"

linger stood respectfully."elder...this is our family matter. we don't want to bring trouble to everyone".

the elder shook his head firmly.

"you both have helped this village many times. chen ting repaired roofs in the winter. linger treated sick with herbs. this village remembers kindness".

his eyes softened look as he looked aat chen ming. "and i want to see that little one grown up here".

behind him several villagers had gatheres quietly.

bao ying.

yao ying.

old granny.

and many others.

"we support you",one of them said.

"you're part of this village",another one added.

chen ting felt something warmed rise in his chest and linger'e eyes shimmered slightly.

for the first time since hearing the news, the fear inside them eased.

chen ting took deep breath "they're still searching the south side. they don't know we're here yet. so we won't need to panic".

the elder nodded. "but if they come, they will not face you alone".

chen ting and linger'e looked at the village standing together in unity in that moment—they realized they were no longer fugitives wandering alone. they had found a new family and no matter what storm came from north this small village would stand together.

in the northen empires, inside the grand halls of the chen clan fortress, a heated argument echoed loudly through the chamber.

the chen elder, chen lan stood at the center with a cold expression. suddenly the door slammed open.

chen mu entered with his, chen wei—chen linger's parents and chen wei face burned with anger.

"what the hell are you thinking?" she shouted. "do you think our daughter is some kind of tool for you?"

chen lan expression remained unmoved. "she already disgraced our clan's name".

chen wei clenched her fists. "so what? she abandoned her cultivation and chose a simple life. she is nothing now and yet you tried to sell her future for you greed!"

chen lan eyes narrowed. "she still carries the chen clan name if she had not run away with that low-born chen ting, i would have chosen a far better marriage for her".

chen wei turned to her husband. "chen mu! why are you silent? He selling our daughter's for power!"

chen mu spoke calmly. "wei're...calm down" and she stared at him in disbelief. "calm down? our daughter life was treated like a bargaining chip!"

chen lan suudenly spoke. "he already knew".

chen wei froze and slowly she turned to her husband. "you...knew?"

chen mu avoided her gaze. "it was for the clan," he said quietly."A small sacrifice is sometimes necessary".

her eyes widened in shock "she is your daughter!" she cried. "how can you say that?"

chen mu expression hardened. "she abandoned the clan for a man she loved that alone proved she is not worthy"

chen wei staggered back a step as if struck for a moment she couldn't believe what she had heard.

her own husband...

her own clan...

both had abandoned their daughter, without another word she turned and began walking the door but chen lan step forward and blocked her path. "you are not going anywhere".

her anger exploded, a surge of powerul spiritual energy burst from her body like storm the hall filled with blinding light.

chen lan and chen mu shield their eyes, when the light faded— she was gone.

chen lan looked around sharply."...she escaped" he turned to chen mu coldly. "your wife ran away."

chen mu remained silent chen lan's expression darkened. "fine. if she wants to run... let her run"

he waved his sleeve. "i will place a bounty on her head."

chen mu gave a small nod, though his face showed no emotion. far away, racing through the night wind— chen fled the northern empire. her only thought burning her heart:

I must find linger before they do.

chen wei flew across the cold northern skies her robes whipping violently in the wind her mind held only one thought.

I must find linger.

but suddenly—she felt several powerful presences closing in behind her.

her heart tightened as she turned her head slightly shadow hunters elite assassins of the chen clan.

their speed was terrifying these hunters specialized in killing cultivators even stronger than themselves using deadly poisons and coordinated attacks many powerful enemies had already fallen to them.

but what made chen wei's heart ache most—was the truth they had beed sent by her own husband.

chen mu.

"to hunt...his own wife", she whispered bitterly.

her anger surged, and she pushed her speed even further the snow mountains of the northern empire rushed past beneath her as she approached the southern border.

behind her, the shadow hunters launched their attack, thin black needles shot through the air like silent lightning each one coated with deathly poison.

chen wei twisted through the sky, narrowly dodging them another volley came.

and another.

she avoided most of them—but one strike nearly brushed her sleeve.

she gritted her teeth. "i won't let you stop me!"

gathering her remaining strength, she suddenly turned and unleashed a brilliant technique.

"mad Flash!"

A blinding burst of white light exploded outward like a small sun.

the shadow hunters cried out of their vision was swallowed by dazzling glare for a brief moment—they were blind.

chen wei didn't waste the chance below her, she spotted a long merchant caravan traveling along the road toward the southern regions.

she descended rapidly and slipped into one of the cargo wagons, suppressing her aura completely moment later, the shadow hungters regained their sight.

"where did she go?" one of them growled.

another one scanned the skies. "I don't know...tch. she escaped"

third hunter frowned "we should report this to the elder first"

the leader nodded. "yes we return".

with that, the shadow hunters vanished back toward the north.

meanwhile hidden deep inside then cargo wagon

—chen wei finally relaxed.

but the long chase her inuries and the exhaustion from using her technique caught up to her.

her vision blurred and she was collapsed into unconsciousness among the goods what she don't know—was that this merchant caravan was travelling to small peaceful village in the south.

a village where her daughter lived.
