With the shield holding for now, Elara turned back to the shimmering basin. The holographic map was pulsing, pointing toward the far North—the Frost-Lands. "The second crystal is there," she told Kaelen, who was busy fending off scouts at the entrance.
"The Frost-Lands are cursed, Elara," Kaelen warned, wiping sweat from his brow. "No one survives the Eternal Blizzard without a guide."
"Then we find a guide," she replied firmly. She touched the map, and a small, blue compass-like light transferred from the water to her palm. They had their direction, but the path ahead was frozen and deadly.
