A while back, Sebastian Shaw dealt with the previous White King of the Hellfire Club.
To consolidate the mutants' position and his own power, he held a banquet in Las Vegas, inviting many influential people to attend.
Sebastian Shaw had long set his sights on Namor the Sub-Mariner, intending to invite him to join the Club.
But Namor didn't give him any face, and rudely rejected the offer.
So, the unwilling Sebastian Shaw sent White Queen Emma to win Namor over with her beauty and charm to join the Hellfire Club.
Then Namor made the mistake all men make; during his interactions with Emma, he couldn't resist the temptation, and they slept together a few times. Over time, feelings developed, and they became lovers.
Because of this, Namor was willing to step forward and flip over Erik when White Queen Emma was in danger.
After Namor dropped the White Queen off at the Hellfire Club, he ran into Sebastian Shaw. He habitually exchanged a few sarcastic remarks with Shaw, but unexpectedly, he heard news of Han Shaoqing from Sebastian Shaw.
Upon learning that his little brother was hanging out with a group of mutants, Namor, swayed by Emma's influence, temporarily joined the Hellfire Club.
Actually, Namor had his own agenda.
As the King of Atlantis, Namor always put Atlantis first.
Over the years, the technology of the surface dwellers had become increasingly advanced, but their pollution of the oceans had also become increasingly severe.
They dumped all sorts of garbage into the sea, polluting the marine environment, which indirectly threatened the living space of the Atlanteans, making Namor very unhappy.
