When Wakanda launched its attack earlier, Erik had used his magnetic field to evade all projectiles, emerging unscathed.
Upon receiving a signal from Han Shaoqing, he immediately unleashed his full magnetic power. A colossal magnetic storm swept across the land, causing all of Wakanda's metal to writhe and churn.
This was a Wakandan nightmare!
Due to the magnetic interference, the vibranium mountains hadn't yet been levitated, but many Wakandans were already suspended in mid-air.
The problem was that most Wakandans carried metal objects on their person, and Erik couldn't precisely control such a massive magnetic field.
Take the Border Tribe, for example. Their members lived along Wakanda's borders, disguised as farmers and hunters to deceive outsiders and conceal the nation's true wealth and military might.
The tribe's warriors were equipped with vibranium cloaks offering both protection and invisibility.
They also raised War Rhinos clad in vibranium armor, ready to unleash them at a moment's notice—*Close the gates and let the rhinos loose!*
These once-mighty weapons and defenses now lay utterly beyond control.
Farming tools, daggers, cloaks—every metal object in their hands, on their bodies, or in their surroundings began to float uncontrollably.
Even their War Rhinos were floating, mooing in confusion.
*Truly, the cows fly without needing a boost!*
The River Tribe, Mining Tribe, and Golden Tribe faced similar situations.
The Golden Tribe was the most severely affected, located at the center of the magnetic field where the force was strongest.
Another reason for their plight was the Golden Tribe's primary control over vibranium. As the wealthiest of the five major tribes, their people were adorned in gold and silver. Under the magnetic field's influence, the metal on their bodies lifted them into the air.
The Ape Tribe fared the best. Dwelling in the mountains and revering the White Plains Divine Monkey Hanuman as their totem, they lived in seclusion.
Unlike the other four tribes, the Ape Tribe clung to tradition, refusing vibranium and modern technology. Their weapons and lifestyles remained primitive, their clothing simple, mostly animal hides. Even their adornments—beasts' fangs—were non-metallic, minimizing the magnetic field's effect.
The Royal Guardswomen wearing metal collars around their necks fared the worst. They were lifted into the air, kicking their limbs wildly. Fortunately, other metal armor distributed their weight.
Otherwise, they'd all be hanging themselves from the southeastern branches.
"As expected of Lao Wan, the master of the scene! One word: perfect!"
As Han Shaoqing spoke, he released T'Chaka beneath his feet. Without the force of gravity holding him down, T'Chaka was involuntarily lifted into the air by the magnetic force, suspended weightlessly.
With their metal technology out of control, Wakanda had effectively regressed to a primitive state, completely defenseless.
Among Wakanda's five major tribes, only T'Chaka, who had consumed the Heart-Shaped Herb, possessed superhuman strength. Yet his greatest asset, the Black Panther Suit, now offered no assistance, instead trapping him within its confines.
Seeing many Wakandans being lifted into the air by the metal on their bodies—some even gagging as necklaces tightened around their necks—Han Shaoqing estimated that many would die if this continued.
"Lao Wan, that's enough. I'll reason with them."
Only someone as shameless as Han Shaoqing would beat someone half to death before trying to reason with them.
"I doubt they'll listen," Erik said, rolling his eyes. Still, he adjusted the magnetic field, gently lowering those who had been lifted into the air back to the ground.
Due to his upbringing and tragic experiences, Erik disliked humans, but he maintained his principles and generally avoided killing unless necessary.
Remember, this is under normal circumstances. If truly provoked, Erik is absolutely capable of committing an act that would annihilate humanity.
In X-Men 2, an older Erik even tempted Charles, who was under the influence of the Master of Illusions, to eradicate all of mankind.
In X-Men: Apocalypse, after the tragic deaths of his wife and children, Erik was empowered by Apocalypse and nearly reduced global civilization to the Stone Age by controlling the Earth's magnetic field.
He's a ruthless individual!
The current Erik isn't quite so extreme; his annoyance with Wakanda is at most mild.
As the magnetic forces gradually subsided, the metal and the Wakandans who had been lifted into the air slowly descended. Some were lacerated by the falling metal, while others suffered head injuries from the impact of the metal objects. The entire nation was thrown into chaos.
T'Chaka landed on the ground, uninjured but disheveled. When he looked at Han Shaoqing and Erik, his eyes held a fear he had never experienced before.
He was a brave warrior, but he was also human, and above all, the king of Wakanda.
He could face enemies without fear, even to the point of death, but he dreaded the annihilation of his nation.
Unfortunately, the two men before him possessed exactly that kind of terrifying power.
In the presence of Han Shaoqing and Erik, even the mightiest warrior of Wakanda, Black Panther, seemed small and powerless.
There was no comparison between them, let alone the possibility of a battle.
The Wakandans, still shaken, exchanged bewildered glances, unable to even shout their usual slogan, "Whiter than me!"
"You are T'Chaka, King of Wakanda, correct? Here's the situation: I'm taking the vibranium, and even the Panther God couldn't stop me! I don't want to slaughter needlessly. You have ten minutes to evacuate. Abandon all metallic items, don't even think of taking a single piece of vibranium, and get as far away as possible. Otherwise, you'll face the consequences."
Han Shaoqing's final declaration boomed across the land like thunder, its sound carrying to every corner of Wakanda.
Wakanda, neither vast nor small, was still large enough that some tribes were unaware of the unfolding crisis. When they heard Han Shaoqing's voice, they were bewildered and at a loss.
Some immediately stripped off their metal adornments, the terror of almost being strangled by metal still fresh in their minds.
Others hesitated.
Still others rushed toward the direction of the Golden Tribe.
After delivering his ultimatum, Han Shaoqing soared into the sky under the gaze of countless Wakandans, rejoining Erik.
He wasn't joking. If the Wakandans held onto their vibranium for another ten minutes, Han Shaoqing would show no mercy.
Erik watched Han Shaoqing soar upward. "Master, is this considered a robbery?"
"Yes," Han Shaoqing replied curtly. They were, in fact, here to rob them.
Erik pondered. "Charles will be furious if he finds out!"
"That's why I didn't bring him," Han Shaoqing said. He was considerate of his companions' feelings. Charles, a well-educated gentleman with a kind heart, would never approve of such an action. If they had brought him along, he would have been full of complaints. Not only would he have been unhelpful, but he also would have strained their relationships. It wouldn't have been worth it.
Erik glanced at the panicked crowd below. "What about the people down there? If we take their vibranium, we'll make enemies. Should we just let them go?"
"It doesn't matter. Without vibranium, they won't be able to cause much trouble. We'll strike in ten minutes. I'll lighten the vibranium mine's weight then. As for them, they'll have to fend for themselves."
One chance was enough. Whether they lived or died would depend on the choices of T'Chaka, the King of Wakanda, and the other tribes.
