Chapter 141 - Thor and Loki

The sky above the drop site of [Mjolnir] was thick with dark clouds, as if a torrential rainstorm were about to break.

Having been stripped of his divine power, Thor had endured countless hardships to learn the location of [Mjolnir]. Without a moment's rest, he rushed toward the hammer, which was now secured within a S.H.I.E.L.D. containment field.

"Still as reckless as ever!"

Han Shaoqing watched from the shadows. Thor was a promising target for his "check-in" ability—Rune King Thor, King Thor, and Eternal Thor were all immensely powerful.

But the current Thor didn't meet his requirements. Without his divine power, Thor was only slightly stronger than an ordinary human. Even if he were to regain the power of Thor by proving worthy of [Mjolnir], he would at best be one of the stronger Earth-level beings, far from reaching the Sky Father level.

Han Shaoqing had no interest in the present-day Thor. He had come here to wait for Loki.

More accurately, he was waiting to hitch a ride on the [Bifrost] to Asgard.

As for [Mjolnir] lying on the ground, Han Shaoqing didn't even touch it.

Not because he couldn't lift it. With his current strength, he could easily lift [Mjolnir] even with Odin's enchantments.

But the moment he did, the "slumbering" Odin would surely sense it.

The distances between the Nine Realms were vast, and Asgard was protected by a shield of divine power. Even Han Shaoqing's [Mind Transmission] could not reach it directly.

Unless one had the exact coordinates, the [Bifrost] was the best option available.

Han Shaoqing didn't want to miss this opportunity for the sake of a little bit of Thor's power.

Below, Thor charged forward, his powerful physique and a thousand years of combat experience allowing him to fight through a dozen S.H.I.E.L.D. agents before he finally saw his beloved Mjolnir.

But at this moment, Thor was still impulsive and arrogant, lacking the compassion required by Odin.

Therefore, even though Thor strained with all his might, he couldn't lift [Mjolnir] an inch.

"No!!!"

Unable to lift [Mjolnir], Thor collapsed to his knees on the ground, like Yuan Hua abandoned by Qiu Ya. He threw his head back and roared at the sky in anguish and despair.

The greater the hope, the greater the disappointment!

His burning passion was crushed by the cold reality. As if on cue, the sky opened up and a torrential rain began to fall. If the background music were "A Cut Plum" or "Icy Rain," the scene would have been perfect.

The bewildered Thor was quickly apprehended by the arriving S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Coulson took him to a makeshift interrogation room.

After a moment, Han Shaoqing sensed a ripple in space.

A brilliant, seven-colored beam of light descended from the sky, vanishing in an instant.

"He's here."

Han Shaoqing looked out, seeing that the Loki he had been waiting for had finally arrived on Earth.

Loki had always kept a close eye on Thor, fearing that one day Thor would lift Mjolnir, reclaim the power of Thor, return to Asgard, and threaten his position.

When he discovered Thor was rushing to the location where Mjolnir had fallen, Loki hurried to the Bifrost's teleportation chamber. He ordered the guardian god, Heimdall, to use the Bifrost Sword to open the Bifrost and transport him to Earth.

Only after confirming that Thor could not lift Mjolnir did Loki secretly breathe a sigh of relief.

Then, he used his magic to slip into the room where Thor was being held.

Loki's feelings for his "brother" of over a thousand years were complicated, but his strongest emotion now was undoubtedly "jealousy."

Loki had always tried to prove he was stronger than Thor, hoping to earn Odin's recognition and become the King of Asgard.

However, since childhood, his way of gaining attention had been through mischief—drawing notice by playing tricks on others. This only made people dislike him even more.

Many times, what you consider a joke is not funny to others!

Thor had been brave since childhood and grew into a skilled warrior, his brilliance completely overshadowing Loki. Most importantly, Odin had always shown "favoritism," dedicating himself to grooming Thor as the next All-Father of Asgard.

In Loki's eyes, Thor was reckless, impulsive, warlike, and dim-witted. He was constantly played by Loki, with his only real strength being his brute force. Why did he deserve to be the King of Asgard?

It wasn't until recently that Loki learned from Odin that he was actually the descendant of Frost Giants—an adoptee who never had a chance from the start!

It was like your parents setting a goal for you since childhood, making you run hard toward it, only for them to tell you right before you reached the finish line, "You're not our biological child," and then hand the prize to their own son.

The joke was on him all along. How many people could endure such a blow?

Loki was lucky not to have a complete mental breakdown!

In truth, Loki had already gone a bit mad by this point. Even after learning his true identity, he had still spent 1,500 years as the second (third) prince of Asgard, and that bond was hard to sever. All he could do now was secure his own throne and prove himself to Odin.

As for killing Thor, Loki still couldn't bring himself to do it.

"Thor."

Hearing the familiar voice, Thor looked up and saw the figure before him. Although his appearance had changed, Thor recognized him instantly as his brother, Loki.

"Have you come to take me back?"

Despite Loki's constant betrayals and his use of snakes to terrify him, Thor had always regarded Loki as his true brother and most trusted confidant. He had no idea that his current predicament was entirely Loki's doing.

Loki shifted back to his original form and shook his head slightly. "I cannot take you back. You shattered the peace of Asgard. I pleaded with Father on your behalf, but upon hearing my words, he became so enraged that he passed away... Now, the heavy burden of kingship has fallen to me."

"This can't be true! Tell me the truth!" Thor's eyes welled with tears, clearly believing the lie.

Loki feigned sorrow, sighing as he spoke. "The terms of the ceasefire agreement for Asgard include your exile. Mother has already consented."

"Farewell, my brother."

Loki lied as easily as he breathed. After deceiving Thor, he left his brother in silent grief and turned to leave the room.

Before departing, Loki made a point of approaching Mjolnir, attempting to lift the hammer himself. Unfortunately, it was useless.

*Good thing no one saw,* he thought.

Thanks to his magic, ordinary humans couldn't even see him.

"Don't waste your effort. You can't lift it."

The sudden voice wasn't loud, yet it made Loki's heart skip a beat. A golden light flickered in his emerald eyes as he instinctively sensed danger.

Han Shaoqing strolled over, yet the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents guarding the area remained completely oblivious.

*Only magic can defeat magic.*

Blocking the sight and hearing of Muggles was a simple task for Han Shaoqing now.

"Who are you, sir? A wizard of Earth?"

Loki remained confident in his own strength—even arrogant. This was the pride of the Asgardian race. He admitted his opponent might be powerful, but he was still a mere mortal. Loki, the man destined to become the All-Father, maintained his elegant composure while remaining ready to strike from behind.

It was simply a habit formed over many years.

Han Shaoqing said nonchalantly, "You can think of it that way. If you take me to Asgard, perhaps your reign as All-Father will last a little longer."

"Mortal, who do you think you are, daring to speak to me like that?"

Hearing the man's arrogant words, Loki felt a surge of displeasure. He was now the Acting All-Father of Asgard, his power greater than ever before. Moreover, having never been beaten by the Hulk, he remained ignorant of Earth's harsh realities, making him utterly arrogant and conceited.

As the words fell, Loki vanished from Han Shaoqing's sight. It had been an illusion all along.

The real Loki had already appeared behind Han Shaoqing, drawing the two daggers he kept close at hand. Striking a pose reminiscent of the Asgardian ancestral sword-drawing technique, he thrust both blades toward Han Shaoqing's lower back.

*A double-stab to the kidneys?*

*Keep dreaming!*

Han Shaoqing was wearing the [Zeus Armor]. In terms of defensive power, it was no weaker than Odin's [Destroyer Armor]. Trying to pierce it with two daggers forged from Uru metal was like Danzo trying to stab Susanoo with kunai.
