Venom Spider-Man, Eddie, smirked cunningly at the camera and said coldly, "Every five minutes, I'll eat a hostage. So, Spider-Man, make your choice."
As his words fell, the entire city seemed to fall silent, leaving only his maniacal laughter echoing from the television screen.
People watched the unfolding events on their screens in horror, silently praying for the kidnapped TV station employees.
Some began calling the police, hoping for a swift rescue of the hostages.
Others quietly followed the developments, hoping Spider-Man would appear soon to resolve the crisis.
Chen Ye watched the scene on the television with keen interest.
He smiled to himself, thinking, *Venom Eddie is quite the showman, using such a method to provoke Spider-Man.*
But for Chen Ye, this was a perfect opportunity.
He no longer needed to search aimlessly for Mary.
He didn't have to make a choice, because he would save them all.
Without hesitation, Chen Ye called Deadpool and instructed him to rescue Peter's beloved Mary.
Meanwhile, Chen Ye himself soared toward the TV station.
He swiftly traversed the city's streets and alleys, his figure flickering rapidly through the darkness.
Using his superpowers, he effortlessly dodged obstacles and traps on the streets, making his way toward the television station.
Five minutes passed in the blink of an eye, and the citizens waited anxiously for Spider-Man's arrival.
However, he didn't appear as expected.
During this tense wait, Venom Eddie's patience gradually wore thin.
The live broadcast camera at the television station focused nervously on the tense standoff. The hostages, pale and trembling, huddled together in fear.
Eddie glanced at them with contempt, and Venom transformed into a tentacle that coiled around a TV crew member's neck like a slithering snake. With a sharp tug, he effortlessly dragged the man toward him.
"Looks like Spider-Man isn't coming," Eddie sneered. "So, I'll just have to show him what happens when he's late."
With a gaping maw, Venom swallowed the hostage whole and then arrogantly addressed the camera: "Five minutes are up. This is what happens when Spider-Man doesn't show. Let's quietly wait for the next five minutes."
Meanwhile, Vulture circled above the bridge.
On the bridge, Mary was suspended tightly by a thick rope, her face pale and her eyes wide with terror.
Vulture sneered, "It seems your Peter won't be coming to your rescue after all."
Mary's heart felt as if it had been struck by a sledgehammer, leaving her both shocked and terrified.
The shock stemmed from the realization that Peter, her always-sloppy and somewhat pathetic neighbor, was none other than the legendary Spider-Man.
The fear arose from the fact that she had never liked Peter, let alone imagined that his identity would put her in such grave danger.
She looked up at Vulture, her eyes filled with desperate pleading. "Please, let me go! I swear I don't know Spider-Man. I have a boyfriend—I'm not close to Peter at all."
Her voice trembled with tears, and all she wanted was for Vulture to spare her, to let her live.
Now, Mary's only thought was to distance herself from Spider-Man, hoping that might save her life.
However, Vulture ignored her pleas, his face twisting into an even more terrifying grin.
He leaned down, his voice dripping with amusement. "Tell me, if you fell from here, do you think you'd survive?"
Mary glanced down at the concrete below, estimating it was at least fifteen stories high—a fall that would undoubtedly shatter her bones.
Despair flooded her. "Please, let me go! I'll do anything you want!" she begged, her voice cracking.
Vulture showed no mercy to Mary's pleas.
Instead, he grew even more cruel.
He glanced at Mary with disgust before suddenly unleashing a barrage of indiscriminate gunfire at the ground.
Bullets whizzed through the air, sending pedestrians scattering in terror.
Just then, the police arrived and immediately launched a counterattack.
They surrounded Venom Eddie and Vulture, attempting to subdue them with overwhelming firepower. However, ordinary bullets proved useless against the duo.
Their bodies seemed impervious to all attacks, leaving the police helpless.
Moreover, each held a hostage, preventing the officers from firing freely.
Fearing they might harm the hostages, the police could only cautiously search for an opportunity.
This passive situation resulted in heavy police and special forces casualties.
They sustained continuous injuries in the battle against Venom and Vulture, with some tragically losing their lives.
The citizens grew even more panicked and desperate.
They fled the scene in droves, trying to escape the horrifying disaster.
Venom Eddie's words plunged the TV crew present into despair.
They stared helplessly at Eddie, their hearts filled with terror and powerlessness.
Eddie, however, reveled in the chaos. He deliberately tried to make people hate Spider-Man, his words dripping with provocation and mockery.
"Remember this," Eddie said coldly, as if the matter had nothing to do with him, "you're dying because of Spider-Man."
His words ignited the fury of the TV station employees. They began cursing Spider-Man, their voices filled with resentment and discontent.
"Spider-Man, you coward!"
"Save me, Spider-Man! You piece of trash! Aren't you supposed to be a superhero? Why don't you save me?"
Viewers watching on television also began to turn against Spider-Man.
They had once seen him as the city's protector, but now they began to doubt his abilities and courage.
Just then, Venom Eddie began his feast.
He randomly selected a hostage and swallowed it whole.
A gleeful expression spread across his face as he seemed to savor the cruel process.
However, just as he was about to devour a second hostage, countless steel bars suddenly shot toward him.
Eddie easily dodged the attacks, but his expression turned wary.
"Who's there?!" he shouted, his voice filled with vigilance and fury.
A figure descended from the sky—it was Chen Ye, who had just arrived.
He descended like a god from heaven, radiating an aura of mystery.
On the television screens and among the hostages at the TV station, faces lit up with astonishment and delight.
Their eyes were filled with anticipation and reverence for Chen Ye, as if they had seen a glimmer of hope.
This mysterious hero might be able to save them from their dire predicament, offering them a lifeline.
Among the crowd, a child pointed at Chen Ye floating in the air and asked his mother in a childish voice, "Mommy, is that God?"
The child's innocent question brought a warmth and hope to everyone present, as if in this moment of despair, they had found a ray of light.
Chen Ye also heard the child's voice. He turned his head slightly, a gentle expression in his eyes.
Smiling, he replied, "You can call me Chen Ye. I'm not God. If you must have a title, I'd prefer you call me the Lord of Hell."
Chen Ye's words surprised everyone present.
They had expected him to be an angel sent by God to save them, yet he claimed to be the Lord of Hell.
Despite the shock his words caused, his presence brought them hope.
They believed that whoever he was, he had the power to save them from their suffering.
However, Chen Ye cared nothing for their lives or deaths.
He was just an ordinary man from another universe, his only mission to eliminate Venom Eddie and return home.
He harbored no selfless heart, nor grand ideals of saving the world.
He was merely a selfish mortal, concerned only with his mission and goals.
