Chapter 137 - Strange's Retrospective

"Welcome to this live broadcast by BCC, reporting from the battle to purge Hell's Kitchen. I'm Alice." On camera, the blonde woman, Alice, smiled at the audience. Her voice was filled with tension and anticipation, as if even she couldn't completely conceal her excitement for the impending battle.

"There's still half an hour until the time set by the Federal Government. Right now, we can see the military has already surrounded all of Hell's Kitchen and is starting to seal off the streets one by one." The camera cut to a scene of bustling activity, with the army and police carrying out their mission with tense precision.

Their faces were etched with seriousness and resolve, as if they were fighting against some invisible force.

"We can also see a large crowd gathered outside the perimeter. I'm sure everyone wants to witness firsthand the destruction of Hell's Kitchen—the Big Apple City's cancer." The camera switched again, this time focusing on the crowd outside the fence.

Some waved flags, some held cameras, and others talked excitedly among themselves.

Their cheers echoed in front of the camera.

"We are privileged to have General Ross, a representative of the military, here to explain the situation on the ground."

After Alice spoke, she handed the microphone to a middle-aged man in military uniform with a serious expression.

"The military has deployed a total of 1,000 personnel around Hell's Kitchen, primarily to prevent anyone from escaping," General Ross declared confidently. "We have also arranged for armored tanks and fighter jets for support. Under the ironclad defense of our Federal Army, not even a fly could get in!"

However, just as he finished speaking, an unexpected event occurred.

A Lamborghini suddenly appeared in the camera's view, speeding straight toward Hell's Kitchen. The stationed soldiers and police were stunned; they never expected anyone to be so bold as to break through the blockade.

Yet, they did not open fire. They merely watched warily as the car drove straight into Hell's Kitchen.

Alice, the reporter, stared at General Ross in shock, as if questioning him: *Is this the "impenetrable wall" you promised?*

Quickly regaining her composure before the camera, she explained solemnly, "The vehicle you just saw belongs to the Federal Government, which is why they were allowed through. Ordinary citizens, please do not attempt to imitate this, or you risk being accidentally harmed by our soldiers."

Sensing General Ross's simmering rage, Alice promptly ended the interview and moved on to cover other areas.

Once the media had departed, General Ross roared, "You useless idiots! Why did you let that car through?!"

The soldiers exchanged bewildered glances. It was a Lamborghini, after all—the driver couldn't possibly be an ordinary person. They had assumed it was a high-ranking Federal Government official and hadn't dared to obstruct it. Besides, they didn't believe anyone from Hell's Kitchen could afford such a car.

"Cat got your tongues?! Speak up!" General Ross screamed, his fury boiling over as the soldiers remained silent.

Strange, in his Lamborghini, was the very reason the soldiers were being berated.

He was now driving through the streets of Hell's Kitchen, observing his surroundings. The residents of Hell's Kitchen stared curiously at the Lamborghini—after all, such a car was unheard of in this neighborhood. Normally, the owner would have been killed and robbed by now, but today, the people of Hell's Kitchen were too preoccupied with the impending war to care.

"Damn it, I don't know why Chen Ye chooses to live in this godforsaken slum. Is this even a place for humans?" Strange muttered to himself.

Strange was at the peak of his life, as evidenced by the car he drove. He couldn't understand why his roommate, Chen Ye, insisted on staying in this wretched place. With Chen Ye's abilities, he could have easily achieved the same level of success.

This was Strange's first time in Hell's Kitchen. He swore that if it weren't for Chen Ye, he would never have set foot in this place in his entire life.

"Damn, this dump is getting my car dirty. Chen Ye is practically clinging to Hell's Kitchen even as it's about to be destroyed."

Strange muttered to himself with disdain.

Though his face was twisted in disgust, a hint of anxiety flickered in his eyes.

Soon, Strange arrived at the Good Luck Restaurant, following the navigation. He cast a curious glance at the restaurant's entrance.

*So this is the restaurant Chen Ye insisted on returning to in Hell's Kitchen, throwing away a bright future,* Strange thought.

After glancing at the hideous dog by the door, Strange thought pityingly, *Chen Ye must be struggling now. Even his dog looks so scruffy.*

It had been several years since they graduated and hadn't seen each other since.

If Chen Ye wasn't one of the few people he truly respected, Strange would never have come. Now was the time to show Chen Ye how well he was doing—to make him realize his past decision was a mistake.

*Chen Ye must be desperate right now, probably scrambling for connections. Don't worry, I'm here to save you. But I'll make him beg for it first. After all, I always lost to him in college,* Strange thought as he pushed open the restaurant door.

The scene inside left Strange stunned. From his perspective, a group of strangely dressed people in colorful outfits were gathered in the restaurant.

Strange saw Deadpool, Pietro, Spider-Man, and the second-generation Green Goblin Harry preparing for something. Deadpool was even already in his skin-tight suit. The group looked at Strange in surprise as he pushed open the door, not expecting anyone to enter at this hour.

Pietro was the first to speak: "Sorry, the restaurant is closed. Please leave."

"I must have come to the wrong place." Seeing the group of weirdos, Strange instinctively felt he had made a mistake, perhaps entering a restaurant with the same name. He turned to leave without looking back.

However, just then, a familiar voice interrupted his thoughts: "Strange, what are you doing here?"

Strange turned around to see Chen Ye sitting leisurely inside, holding a chess piece, clearly in the middle of a game.

Seeing this, a surge of anger flared up in Strange's heart. He had rushed here, thinking Chen Ye was in grave danger, only to find him calmly playing chess.

He strode up to Chen Ye and plopped down, his voice laced with irritation. "What's the matter with you? You're still playing chess at a time like this! Hell's Kitchen is about to be wiped out!"

Chen Ye looked up at Strange, a calm smile still on his face. "Long time no see, Strange. Don't be in such a rush. Since you're here, would you like some tea or water?"

Strange's eyes widened. Seeing Chen Ye's unruffled composure, his anxiety only intensified. "What are you talking about? Who cares about drinks right now! Do you think your crappy stuff is any better than mine? Don't you know Hell's Kitchen is about to be destroyed? The Federal Government will be here any minute! I already saw a ton of military personnel on my way here!"

His words betrayed both his reproach and frustration with Chen Ye, as well as his deep concern for Hell's Kitchen's fate.

"It seems like that Lord of Hell or whatever caused all this. Come with me right now. It's too late if we don't leave immediately!"

Hearing Strange's words, Pietro and Chen Ye exchanged a strange look.

"Is there a problem? You residents of Hell's Kitchen surely know that the Lord of Hell is responsible for all of this, don't you?"

Strange said triumphantly, assuming that ordinary people like Chen Ye were unaware of the truth.

"Then you must know the Lord of Hell's name, right?" Pietro asked.

Strange frowned as he looked at Pietro, who was covered in silver fur. He thought to himself, *Chen Ye has really gone downhill since moving back to Hell's Kitchen. What kind of people is he hanging out with? A guy with silver hair all over—he's clearly a delinquent.*

He declared matter-of-factly, "Of course I don't know. I'm a highly sought-after neurologist now. How could I possibly be concerned with people from such a backwater slum? If it weren't for you, Chen Ye, I wouldn't even be here."

"So I'm really that unknown? You're such a busy man, yet you don't even recognize me," Chen Ye said self-deprecatingly.

Strange replied naturally, "Of course I wouldn't recognize—wait a minute..."

"Are you saying *you* are the Lord of Hell?" Strange finally realized, exclaiming in shock.

"How is that possible?!"
