Chapter 20 - chapter 20: falling for him 2

Faye forced a smile and turned towards the lady who had a bright smile on her face.

"I would never get used to calling you Mrs. Campbell" the female said in a not so friendly voice but she did it with a smile anyway.

"Well you can't change it either" Faye replied and the woman smiled and faded.

Hailey could feel the hostility between these two women and she wondered what transpired between them, she has never seen Faye like this before, Faye definitely hates the woman.

"The fashion show was amazing, I expect nothing less from you after all," the lady replied and Faye smiled.

"Your opinion doesn't really matter but I appreciate it nevertheless" Faye said and the lady frowned.

"We have to leave now" Faye said again and took Hailey away, walking past the lady.

"That was thick hostility, I have never seen you like that before, who is she?" Hailey asked while Faye drove the car.

"Sophie Blackwood, Mark's ex, she's a pain" Faye replied and Hailey nodded in understanding.

"Now I understand the hostility towards her, so that was your fashion show?" Hailey asked in amusement.

"Yes, I'm a fashion designer, didn't you notice" Faye chuckled.

"Now I know," Hailey smiled.

She was a little jealous because everyone she knew had something they were passionate about because they went to college and finished highschool whereas she had to stop schooling because of her parents death.

The car stopped in front of Hardin's mansion and Hailey got down.

"I would be happy to come inside and get on Hardin's nerves but It's late already" Faye said and Hailey chuckled.

"Thanks, I really appreciate" Hailey said and Faye smiled before driving off.

Hailey sighed as she watched the car go before walking into the house.

When she entered Hardin was sitting on the couch, his eyes on his laptop screen.

He raised his head towards her when he heard her come in and she ignored him, she walked towards the stairs.

"You didn't think to tell me you were going to a fashion show with Faye" Hardin said and Hailey frowned.

She turned towards him and glared at him.

"I didn't tell you cause I know for a fact you would find out either way, I won't be surprised if you have a bodyguard following me or a tracker on me" Hailey replied and Hardin sighed.

"Mark told me" he said and focused his gaze on the screen Hailey paused for a moment, her frown deepening, so he didn't have a bodyguard following her?

Hailey found that hard to believe but she went upstairs anyway, she changed into something casual and walked back downstairs to get something to eat.

They were only served light snacks in the fashion show and she was hungry.

If she was going to stay here as Hardin's wife, she may as well make good use of it after all he was a billionaire.

Hailey wanted to cook something but laziness overcome her and she decided not to Cook anymore, she just took a bag of chips and walked into the living room seating next to Hardin

She was curious, so he didn't have any bodyguard following her or even a tracker on her?

That sounds impossible, if he didn't, how did he know exactly where to find her when she tried to escape, Cole did say the place was secure so how did he know she was there.

"How did you know I was in the hotel?" Hailey asked suddenly and Hardin paused.

"What are you talking about?" Hardin asked, turning her eyes to meet hers.

"How did you find me when I tried to escape if you really didn't have anyone following me?" Hailey asked.

"I'm a billionaire with a lot of connections, if I don't see my wife when I get back home, it won't take me two hours to find out her whereabouts" Hardin said and Hailey frowned.

"I don't trust you," Hailey replied.

"You don't trust me? But I am not the enemy here" Hardin replied and Hailey rolled her eyes.

"Right... Cause you didn't almost drive me to my death" Hailey said sarcastically and Hardin frowned.

That was a painful reminder that he pushed her into ending her life.

"I accept, I was being harsh on you that's why I am trying to fix things" Hardin replied.

Hailey stared at him trying to understand what he was saying, she looked into his eyes to try and see if she would get something out of it.

Was he really serious?

They stared at each other, the air thickened and tension rose between them, Hailey's heart began to race, caught between confusion and something deeper.

Hardin's gaze dropped to her lips, he leaned in almost brushing her lips with his, her pulse quickened, the world Around them melted leaving only the undeniable tension that burned between them.

Hailey stayed frozen, she should move away from him or push him away at least but her body stayed rooted as Hardin's face inches close.

His lips brushed hers.

Once.

Twice.

And when he saw she wasn't moving away, he captured her lips kissing her deeply.

Soft yet passionate enough to make Hailey moan, her body rushed with desire as she moved closer for more.

Hardin used his hand to close the laptop on his lap pushing it on the living room table still kissing Hailey.

His hand went to her back drawing her closer and she didn't resist but reciprocated.

Hailey's mind was in disarray, she couldn't even think at the moment, all she wanted was to satiate the desire that is running through her.

They kissed till they were both out of breath and Hardin pulled away, his forehead dropped on hers as they both caught their breath.

Hailey registered what happened in her head and she pulled away from him, she couldn't face him at all so she left the living room with her bag of chips and walked to her room quickly.

Hardin watched her with an amused and confused look on his face.

He chuckled when she disappeared into her room and he took back his laptop.
