"So, Uriel, have you made any friends yet?"
Cardinal Raphael asked Uriel as they walked side by side, step by step.
Uriel scratched his cheeks. He looked awkward.
But this look on his face seemed so pure and innocent that Cardinal Raphael stared for a moment.
He thought to himself, 'I was right. He really is an apostle sent by the goddess. The old books say the goddess looked just like this when she came down two thousand years ago.'
His eyes lit up as he kept thinking. 'If it is him... then maybe it can happen.'
Uriel spoke up. "I'm not sure. But for some reason, people ignore me. And they say mean things to me."
This snapped Cardinal Raphael out of his thoughts. His eyes turned serious. "What do they call you?"
Uriel smiled a little. He thought for a second.
"Hmm... what was it? Oh, right." His innocent eyes looked right at Cardinal Raphael.
"They call me 'peasant.' And they say I'm 'leeching off the cardinal.'"
"But not all the students say that," Uriel added.
