"Thor!"
Sif cried out in anguish, only to see the mortal girl beside her dart forward like an arrow, tears still glistening in her eyes.
"Thor! Thor! No! Don't sleep! You promised to take me to Asgard to see the Endless Sea, Thor!"
The depth of her sorrow made even Sif, who had stood by Thor's side for over a thousand years, feel ashamed.
She reluctantly halted her steps.
Loki, when playing the villain, was remarkably pure. Though he had left Thor half-dead, he couldn't rest easy. He maneuvered the Destroyer toward the fallen god's position.
The massive metal feet stomped through the sand, each step emitting a strange, crunching sound—like the countdown to death.
Hearing the Destroyer's approach, Jane glared at it hatefully.
Then, she suddenly sprang to her feet, arms outstretched, positioning herself between Thor and the Destroyer. She adopted a stance that dared the machine to step over her corpse.
To Qin Xiao, this was even more moving than the "You jump, I jump!" scene from *Titanic*.
"Ah! Fools are blessed with luck!" Qin Xiao sighed wistfully.
"I envy that. Don't worry, your share of 'fool's luck' will be even greater than his!"
Gu Yi turned and smiled. "Hey, are you insulting me or praising me?"
Qin Xiao scratched the back of his head.
Gu Yi simply smiled faintly and ignored him.
Meanwhile, Jane had already positioned herself protectively in front of Thor. Sif and the others exchanged glances before rushing to join her, spreading their arms wide.
"A bunch of foolish idiots!" Loki sneered from Asgard, remotely controlling the Destroyer as he watched the footage.
Out of habit, Loki had the Destroyer turn to glance at Gu Yi and Qin Xiao again. Seeing them still acting indifferent, he began gathering the flames within the Destroyer's body. He intended to incinerate all five of them, plus Thor behind them, in one fiery blast.
The swirling flames converged inside the Destroyer's body.
Jane glanced back at the still, unconscious Thor lying on the ground before closing her eyes, facing the Destroyer.
Just then, Thor's finger twitched slightly.
That tiny movement stirred the heavens and earth. Dark clouds suddenly gathered in the sky, and lightning crackled into existence, each bolt tearing at the sky as if to rip it asunder.
Meanwhile, a small whirlwind materialized in Thor's right hand, as if summoning something.
Inside S.H.I.E.L.D.'s temporary camp, Mjolnir, which hadn't moved since it landed, began to tremble violently.
Countless tiny lightning bolts erupted around the hammer, and in the next instant, it soared into the sky.
Rising high into the air, it drew a massive surge of lightning energy and shot toward Thor's location.
The camp was already more than ten kilometers outside the town, and the distance to Mjolnir was negligible.
In a flash, Mjolnir whistled through the air and landed in Thor's hand.
Before Thor could even open his eyes, his right hand clenched the hammer's handle. The lightning in the sky seemed to find its target, drilling down in a dense torrent into the hammer on the ground.
Through the hammer's transformation, surges of Thor's power flooded into his nearly roasted body.
*This is what they mean by full health resurrection from the spot!* Qin Xiao finally understood.
The hulking Thor's eyes snapped open as if he were rising from the dead.
He floated into the air, his hammer pointed skyward as countless lightning bolts crashed down upon it.
Then came the successful tribulation, the ascension to godhood.
A suit of fish-scale armor materialized out of thin air, covering his body and limbs. A simple breastplate settled over his torso, and a crimson cape slowly unfurled from his shoulders.
Majestic and awe-inspiring—the true Thor descending from the heavens!
"Oh my god!"
Jane covered her mouth with both hands, her eyes wide with disbelief as she stared at the transformed Thor.
"Damn it!"
Qin Xiao spat in frustration, his own attempt at looking cool having failed miserably. *Look at this dumb brute!*
Not only did all his injuries automatically heal, but even the soot on his face vanished completely.
The few strands of hair that had been burned off minutes ago had grown back, neatly combed and styled as if gelled into place. *How infuriating!*
After completing his transformation, Thor sent a flying hammer strike that sent the Destroyer, who was about to breathe fire, staggering.
Another strike—*Bang!*—sent the massive creature crashing to the ground.
Then, wielding Mjolnir, Thor soared into the sky, whirling the hammer in a dizzying spiral.
A massive tornado formed mid-air, swirling up a storm of yellow sand that gradually lifted the Destroyer's colossal body into the sky.
"This is fucking ridiculous! It's a hammer, not a fan! This defies all aerodynamics!"
Qin Xiao grumbled, still fuming.
As the Destroyer ascended to a certain height, Thor spun in the center of the whirlwind, inverted his stance, and plunged downward, Mjolnir raised high.
At this point, Loki couldn't just stand by. He activated the flames within the Destroyer, and the machine spewed a fiery beam upward.
Unfortunately, the flames met Mjolnir, a divine artifact, and were utterly ineffective.
The hammer pressed through the flames, bearing down on the Destroyer.
*Boom!*
A violent explosion erupted in mid-air, sending a circular shockwave of yellow sand expanding in all directions.
It looked like a massive smoke ring, slowly expanding until it vanished without a trace.
Witnessing the scene firsthand for the first time, Qin Xiao exclaimed,
"No way... Is he really that powerful?"
Gu Yi once again explained to Qin Xiao just how important it was to have a good father.
"That's a power Odin sealed within. Theoretically, even a pig could smash that metal shell with one swing now. Otherwise, with Thor's current strength, he couldn't have cracked the Uru metal magic puppet even with Mjolnir!"
"Fine! It's more important to be born into the right family than to work hard!" Qin Xiao said, spreading his hands.
For the first time, he felt that being groomed as the next Sorcerer Supreme by Gu Yi might not be such a bad thing.
Of course, that was assuming he could figure out what this thousand-year-old fox was up to!
Host, rest assured. No one in this world can out-dad you. After all, you have the System Dad!
A lifeless voice echoed in his mind.
Qin Xiao slapped his forehead. *Right! I've got the System, who the hell do I need to fear?*
*Wait, wait...*
*Something's not right here.*
"System, why the hell did you suddenly pop out?"
"And who the hell is your dad? Come out and explain! System!!!"
