The 20-magic corporation members plus the two squad leaders, already found themselves wondering the wild of the jungle forest, getting through the thick green wasn't easy, plus the humidity of this place was making them feel heavy, which only made this more hard.
Luicien wasn't paying attention to this, he thought back to the meeting.
What could General Sway have meant by saying that there's going to be a mission in a weeks' time involving two captains. What kind of mission requires two captains, some squad leaders and a lot of us basic members?
He was thinking alot into the matter, his arm pushed aside a branch from a bush of some kind which is when he looked ahead of him to see Victoria and Diana in front of the group.
If anything, I'm worried about how awkward I was trying to talk to Victoria again after all this time, it's been some time since I last saw her in person and I couldn't even say hi to her...
He thought to himself and looked as if it was about to dragged along the floor.
"What's with that look".
Said Mika who was beside him, wiping his forehead from the sweat.
Luicien didn't even meet his gaze but continued to mope downward.
"Eh, nothing".
He said in a lazy tone.
Mika poked him and then again and then another time.
"Are You upset you didn't get to speak to Victoria".
Mika's voice was sort of mocking.
Luicien swatted at his hand.
"Well she's our friend, no? Of course I'm going to want to talk to her".
He was now facing her direction, which is what made him stop talking. Mika caught on and also looked forward.
Both squad leaders had stopped moving, forcing the entire group to stop moving.
Before Victoria and Diana was some sort of temple made from stone, it was in ruins which is where the soulless one was stated to be.
Diana was the one to address the group.
"Me and my very 'wise' colleague have come to the conclusion that the soulless one is in this temple. We are going to enter this temple in two teams; Team one will follow me and team two will follow Victoria".
Victoria rolled her eyes.
"Aren't you the 'daring' one".
She said in a sarcastic tone.
Diana faced Victoria.
"Shut up".
Victorias face went blank.
"Great come back".
Now ignoring Diana Victoria faced to the group.
She point to the half of the group that was on the side she was.
"You guys are with me".
Among the people were Luicien, Mika, Noah, Lillican and Lavender aswell as some other people.
Victorias group were the first to enter the temple, while Dianas group looked for another entrance to cover more ground.
Victoria looked over her back as she was walking.
"Keep an eye out, this thing isn't weak by any means".
Mika looked at the way she was talking.
She's grown more confident. Luicien could do the same.
He thought looking a Luicien.
Thats when he nudged Luicien.
"Go Talk to her".
He said in a low whisper.
Luicien shook his head.
"It feels awkward".
Mika slapped his own face.
"If you don't, it will remain that way. Is that what you want?".
Luicien thought for a moment.
"No I guess not".
So Luicien picked up the courage and went up to her.
"Victoria, hey".
Victoria's lips curled up a little to form a smile.
"Oh, hi Luicien, It's been a while huh".
Luiciens lips lowered while his eyes darted away from her, he was a little shy.
"Yea I guess so".
Victoria could see how nervous he was, which made her giggle as she found it amusing.
"I'm happy to be working alongside you".
This gave Luicien some peace at mind, as it didn't really feel awkward now that he was speaking to her. However, within moments they entered a large room which was all stone, old and damp. Before anyone knew what was happening a thunderous bang hit the floor
Luiciens vision locked on what it was.
Could it be...
Diana's team was stood there and along with them, was the soulless one. stood tall and was nearly as high as the ceiling. The bang they heard was the giant sword, which hooked at the end in the hands of this monster, swinging at the other team knocking most of them away just from the force alone.
Luicien looked in horror.
SINCE WHEN DO THEY CARRY WEAPONS!
The visible form of this thing was grotesque, it had a humanoid torso, but its head was that of a decaying corpse and two legs which looked frail but somehow kept it up.
The thing made a sound that could easily make one's ears bleed, as it raised its blade ready for another strike.
That's going to be fatal.
Thought Luicien as he placed his hand on the handle of his sword.
Before he or anyone else could do anything, Victoria rushed onward with her staff already in hand.
DESTRUCTION MAGIC: SMALL IMPACT EXPLOSION
She shot a small ball of magical energy toward the soulless one, which then exploded on impact. Of course, this type of attack was nowhere enough to kill it but made it stop its attack and focus on Victoria.
It swung its sword sideways at such speeds it would be almost hard to follow with eyes. Victoria reacted in quick motion she laced her staff with barrier defensive type of magic and used it to block the sword.
She looked back at everyone one else, who were all in shock.
"Move now!".
She shouted.
She turned back to the soulless one who had already raised its sword, striking down on Victoria with so much force.
DEFENSIVE MAGIC: DOUBLE LAYERED MAGIC BARRIER.
She raised both of her hands along with her staff, the sword slammed down on what looked like two magic shields stacked on each other.
That's when Noah went to the side of the creature, raising his hands. His eyes began to emit a sort of dark energy.
DARK MAGIC: SHADOW MANIPULTATION.
The shadow of the soulless one almost came to alive; Noah crossed his hands and as he did that, the soulless one's shadow punched at itself knocking it back.
They weren't dealing any actual damage to it, more just pissing it off.
The soulless one charged at Noah and swung its sword in one quick motion. Noah tried to put up a barrier but wasn't quick enough, the sword hit him sending him flying into the wall behind him.
The monster then turned to Victoria next...
