"Two plates of blood sausage and black tea, please. Nox, what will you have?"
"Uh, I'll also have one plate of blood sausage and a coffee, that's all."
"Nox, those who passed the exam are apparently attending the afternoon class."
"There's a class on the first day?"
"It's more of an orientation than a class, and they're going to measure our values."
"How do you know all this? Didn't we leave at the same time?"
"There was an info brochure after the exam, didn't you notice it at all?"
"I was busy vomiting."
"Ah, right. Anyway, we still have time. We'll have breakfast and then head over."
The blood sausage tasted metallic, just like blood as its name suggests, but it wasn't bad. I understand why Luna likes it.
"Guests, I'm sorry, but if your breakfast is finished, could you please leave?"
"Is there a problem, sir?"
"There's no problem with you, actually, but please, could you leave?"
"How dare you try to remove the heir of Bloodmoon from her seat?"
"Vampire, there is no problem with you staying. It's just this elf that needs to leave."
"Nox, get up, we're leaving. I don't want to spend another minute with these animals anyway."
When I saw the squirrel man turn towards Luna and clench his fist, I couldn't hold myself back any longer. I clenched my own fist and landed a solid punch on the squirrel man with all my strength.
"You little shit!" The man, who was twice my size, was looking at me with pure rage
"Stop!" Prince Max had entered, along with his harem.
"Prince Max, but this little..."
"Can someone tell me why these two citizens cannot stay at this inn?"
"This pointy-eared cursed one will bring nothing but trouble."
"Alright then, can you say the same for me? My eyes and hair are the same as this friend here. Can you say it to me, too?"
"How could we say that to you, Your Highness?" The large-bodied squirrel man lowered his tail, pulled his rolled-up sleeves down to his wrists, and lowered his hands.
"Nut-Shell, I will forgive this insolence this time. You two, come with me."
"Long live Prince Max!"
"Long live Prince Max!"
The situation calmed down with the prince's arrival, but why is this stuck-up prince helping me?
"Luna, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, nox, no problem."
"You two should try to attract a little less attention."
"Thanks for the help, Prince."
"Yes, as Bloodmoon, I thank you personally."
"It's no problem. I don't need thanks for protecting my classmates."
"Classmates?"
"I saw that you passed on this morning's notice board."
"Okay, but how do you know our names?"
"It's obvious that a cursed one and a vampire noble would attract attention. I did a little research. Thank you again, Lin, Rin."
"Anytime, Master," said the two people who I thought were his harem, in unison. Now that I look again, they look very similar to each other.
"Don't mind my research. I have more than enough enemies, and there is nothing out there about you two except for your exam papers."
"We are honored by your concern, Prince."
"Don't drag it out. We need to get to class, there isn't much time left."
When we returned to the academy, the atmosphere was calmer than it was during the exam, and we could see people of all races rushing somewhere. We took our uniforms out of our inventory, blended into the crowd, and headed to class with Prince Max, not knowing what to expect.
When I entered the classroom, unlike the campus, the majority of the class was elves like me. Of course, no one had black hair; blonde, white, and brown were the majority.
"Take your seats, the lesson will begin shortly." In the middle of the class was a middle-aged teacher in a lab coat with long brown hair and eyes that sparkled like rubies, but the sparkle was dulled by bags under his eyes. Luna and I took a seat in the back rows. The prince and his harem sat in an empty spot further up front.
"First of all, congratulations to all of you for passing the exam. Some maniacs even solved the last 30 advanced theoretical questions. No one was able to solve Clark's formula questions... I mean, even I can't solve most of those questions."
One of the students immediately raised his hand, and the teacher gave a gesture as if to say 'you may speak'. "Professor, if they are questions that even you find difficult, why were they on the exam?"
"People from all over the continent take this exam, noble or not. This exam is a chance for many people to shine. Even many people in this class are not nobles. You never know where a genius might come from."
Another person raised their hand. The teacher gestured in the same way for them to speak. "Has anyone ever solved all the questions on the exam before?"
"Not on this exam, but every few years, someone emerges who solves almost all of the last thirty questions. The identities of those who solve all of them are kept secret for certain reasons, but Headmaster Richard Diamond is one of them."
A few more people raised their hands, but this time the teacher didn't give a signal.
"If you have more questions, you can ask them later in the teachers' lounge. For now, let's move on to today's lesson, which is measuring your values."
