Kierran and the gang met up at Arthur's place where his mother laid in bed in a deep slumber , well it's been like that for the past two years . Most of the times she is asleep but when she is awake, she would try to speak with Arthur as much as she can because she knows that her time is almost up
That's something Arthur doesn't know , it's been a secret that I have been keeping safe at the request of his mother . She kindly asked me and Layla to take care of him not only that but also Mrs Alexi asked Lucas to make him smile and laugh at his jokes, to make him feel welcomed, loved and valued
All in all she asked that we take care of his son , and apparently once his parents die he will be the last survivor of the Ravenheart clan . I have never heard of that clan before because my parents wouldn't tell me about it even in their deathbeds they still refused to tell me .
Kierran sighs heavily as he contemplated on Arthur's life of nothing but sorrow and misfortune I guess . Life has always been unfair to Arthur and yet the people around him became more and more successful or you call it luck while he remained the same ... Well sort of .It's the harsh truth yet somehow something doesn't feel right. It's like fate it's self is interfering with Arthur's life or maybe someone...who knows
(Meanwhile somewhere in the mountains of Judah 100km East of the city of Symbiosis)
An unknown voice speaks in a very deep voice
"Only five hours left until we begin my liege ."
Another voice joins in with a more disturbing sound , almost like a serpent eating its prey
" The flowers have blossomed in the gardens of hell ... Let's see how you will survive this , Arthur Ravenheart..."
{Back at the Ravenheart residence}
( Three hours later )
"I'm back !!!"
Arthur yells at the top of his lungs to symbolise his presence. Layla ,Lucas and Kierran all run outside as they were worried about where Arthur has been ... Especially Layla who was constantly pacing around the house
" Where the hell have you been Arthur , I was... I mean we were very worried about you "
Layla hugs Arthur , holding him tight as if he might disappear with tears in her eyes
" You shouldn't make me this worried art , you know how I get when you are in danger ."
Layla then wipes her tears while still maintaining her grip on Arthur which was a little too much for him to handle as he was sprinting all the way from his former Sensei's dojo which is near symbiosis city , about one kilometre West to be exact .
" Layla ... I ... can't...breathe..."
Just as Arthur barely managed to muster up the words Layla quickly let's go after wiping all the tears away which were barely visible from Arthur's perspective.
Although Kierran and Lucas noticed a while back and both go outside to build the wall
"Uhm...we will just be outside ...you know building the wall"
Kierran looks at Lucas with a bewildered expression ,only for Lucas to drag him outside
"Wait what wall are you talking about ?"
"Just shut up and go , can't you see Layla wants to..."
" Ohhh , I see "
Kierran looks away as his words might have sounded envious of Arthur and the bond he shares with Layla
Lucas seemed to notice the slight hurt in kierran's eyes but chose to not bother him any further because he always knew Kierran had eyes on Layla , yet she was always fixated on Arthur ... Whether it was friendship or perhaps something more .
Arthur and Layla are both alone inside the house in an awkward silence as they both barricaded the windows with some wood that Kierran and Lucas found in the nearby forest
"So... How have you been art?"
"I'm alive I guess , just ...I don't know "
Arthur sighs heavily as the reality of his situation slowly creeps up his neck
"Hey , look at me Arthur Ravenheart "
Arthur is surprised at how Layla used his last name in a very demanding tone . It somehow felt warming and loving .
Arthur pays careful attention at what Layla is about to say.
Layla slightly blushes as she notices the seriousness in Arthur's eyes and at how Arthur changed and pays attention to what she is about to say.
" It's okay to not be okay you hear me ..."
Arthur responds immediately as he continues to listen to what she has to say
"I know Layla but..."
Layla cuts him off by continuing to talk as she steps forward with her eyes shining with tears and courage ,Her voice steady but soft
" No , you don't know ...Arthur listen to me - you're not just some kid from the ruins ... You are Arthur fucking Ravenheart okay ,
I have seen your strength and your heart. You are very strong , kind , loving , caring and most importantly you are my everything Art..."
Her right hand reaches his left cheek as they both gaze into each other's eyes .Layla then continues to talk
" I just wish I said it sooner ..."
Layla then closes the distance , her chest heaving as she is now inches away from Arthur's lips ...
Suddenly a deafening roar cuts her off . The ground heaved . A swirling Black rift tore the sky open sucking the entire house into the void .
"LAYLA!!!"
Arthur screams at the top of his voice only for him to look towards his left to see his mother getting swallowed up by the black void . It almost looked like Arthur wanted to give up as his mother got swallowed up by the rift . His voice was low due to the fact that He screamed out layla's name. He felt as though his world faded to black as he saw the people who were precious to him get swallowed by the rift , followed by Kierran ...then Lucas ...then Arthur
Layla makes a last resort to reach for Arthur's hand , her voice lost in the storm - her words unfinished , her love unspoken .
Arthur screams again , this time it's the agony the rift causes to the human body . It's almost like getting torn up by a black hole . It was a pain so unbearable he ended up passing out .
The collapse had begun . And with it the world fell apart ...
