Leon said it immediately, his heart racing as he wondered what his rank would be.
Since I awakened this fast, it has to be at least A-rank, he thought.
The status screen opened—
—and poured cold water over his expectations.
"What the hell!?"
Leon couldn't help but shout as he stared looked at his status screen.
"Why the hell am I an F-rank Knight when I was the first to awaken?" he couldn't belive his eyes as he looked at his Potential Rank.
Potential Rank: F
The lowest rank.
Trash—no matter what class someone awakened as.
"Even a E rank Soldier would be better then me at this point" He felt like crying but then another thought hit his head 'Wait! This doesn't make any sense' he mumbled looking at his status screen.
I awakened before anyone else. There is no way it's just F-rank. Something's not right here, Leon thought as he scanned his status screen, trying to find the reason.
And then—
He found it.
The reason he had awakened so quickly… despite having an F-rank Knight class.
"So… it's because of my talent."
His eyes locked onto the Talent section. The reason he was the first to awaken during the ceremony was because he had awakened a powerful talent, contrary to the useless class he had received.
Talent Rank: SSS
The highest rank ever recorded.
[Infinite SSS Gacha: Randomly gains any SSS-rank talent for one Month]
[Resets every Month, and you can keep one talent permanently, but only either
The temporary talent or permanent talent can be used once you switch them.
Switch cooldown: 24 hours
[ Current Temporary Talent: None (Monthly gacha available {1/1}) ]
[ Permanent Slot: {1/1} ]
'Fucking yes!' Leon thought, clenching his fist as he looked at his Talent.
'I can get a new SSS-rank Talent—that's like a one-in-a-billion phenomenon every month!' Leon swallowed hard. 'Is this my cheat?'
Leon wasn't originally from this world. He had only arrived in this world last week, waking up in this body with same name as his.
He was ectastic when he found out this is an magical world and planned to become strong and now, with this Talent, he could rise even higher.
"Those who have awakened, kindly leave the hall after submitting your details to your homeroom teacher," the headmaster announced.
Leon hearing the announcement came put of his thoughts as he found Head Master looking at him.
'I forgot. After awakening, we need to leave the hall,' he thought, bowing apologetically as he walked out. He informed his homeroom teacher that he had awakened as an F-rank Mage.
"…Is this a joke?" Luna, his beautiful teacher, asked as she looked at his details.
"I'm telling the truth," Leon shrugged.
"Are you telling me that the record breaker for the fastest awakening only awakened with an F-rank class?" she asked, poking his head lightly.
"Is this the time to play games, Leon?" she added.
"I'm not lying. But I have awakened an S-rank Talent," he said, leaning closer.
Her eyes widened.
"I see. No wonder. Alright then, you may go," she said. She didn't asked about his Talents as Talent is ones own secret and not to be shared with.
Leon nodded and left after bowing once again to the headmaster, who was still galring at him as if he might kill him anytime.
'Damn old geezer, do you want to kill me with your gaze!' Leon thought wondering why this guy is glaring at him so much.
Meanwhile, the headmaster was actually laughing inwardly, rolling around in his thoughts.
'The record for the fastest awakening now belongs to my academy,' he thought proudly, imagining the faces of other academy headmasters when he told them.
But in the next second—
"What?!" His voice echoed loudly.
Teacher Luna had already put up a barrier around them so the other students wouldn't be disturbed.
"His early awakening is the result of an S-rank Talent he awakened along with his class," she explained as the headmaster stared at the details of Leon's awakening.
"Oh, I see. It's possible," the headmaster calmed down. "Such cases are rare, but not impossible." He nodded.
"It's fine. Despite having an F-rank class, if he performs well in the tutorial, his class rank will automatically rise." he muttered.
"Yes, there are still three months. That will be enough time for him to raise his class rank by two or three levels if he works hard," he said.
Teacher Luna nodded.
"Now, we must reward him for breaking the record for the fastest awakening in our city. Since he's a mage, go and get him an Epic-grade set," he instructed.
Teacher Luna nodded again and left the hall.
She returned to her classroom and found Leon calmly sitting at his seat.
"Leon, come with me. The headmaster has decided to reward you for your performance," she said.
Leon looked at her, confused. "A reward for awakening an F-rank class?"
"Not for that," she replied, shaking her head. "It's for breaking the record for the fastest awakening in our city."
Leon looked surprised. "Is it true that I broke the record for the fastest awakening?"
"Yes," she replied with a small smile. "And by a full eleven minutes."
"Now, let's go get your reward," she said as she stepped out of the classroom. Leon quickly followed behind her.
As he walked, Leon wondered, I wonder what I'll get?
Soon, they arrived at the headmaster's office, where the Vice Headmaster was already waiting.
"The headmaster has informed me about the reward. You may go inside the vault," he said, opening a hidden door that led to the academy's treasury.
"First, let's check your affinity," Teacher Luna said, taking out a glass orb and placing it in Leon's hand.
The orb slowly changed colors—blue, red, and green.
"Hmm… fire, water, and life affinity. A good combination. Wait here, I'll get you a suitable set for mages," she said before stepping into the vault.
Leon remained outside.
'I want to see what's inside,' he thought, but he didn't dare step in, especially with the Vice Headmaster still standing in the room.
After five minute Luna came out holding a small pouch in her hand.
