Chapter 145 - Chapter 142

Ashen Prime

A Hydra agent, a representative of the third wave of infiltration, methodically performed his duties with his characteristic multitasking, simultaneously developing operational plans. Like other agents, after arriving in a container, he was embedded within the Ashen Prime system administrator structure. His position did not involve direct contact with the military, but he focused on studying the Ashen's cybersecurity system and network architecture, passing on the information to agents capable of exploiting it. Recently, he received a crystal containing a program to be implemented into the system during the next update. The Ashen's love of system updates was as pronounced as that of other civilizations, likely due to the need to maintain the system programmers' productivity. Generally, updates did not introduce significant changes, with the exception of minor factors. Now, however, these updates required the integration (and careful concealment) of additional, very extensive blocks of code.

Integrating into Aschen society was a surreal experience. Like many Tok'ra, he had visited Earth, but the Aschen were completely unlike the human homeland. Their culture was characterized by minimal advertising, a lack of meaningful creative expression, and other forms of entertainment so central to humanity. The Aschen were interested only in maximizing efficiency, which, in essence, was their primary goal. Despite this, they had achieved significant technological advances while retaining such benefits of civilization as teleportation and robotics.

They had even mastered the ability to light stars, but all these achievements paled in comparison to their complete lack of morality. The Aschen lacked even a rudimentary sense of morality. Or rather, it existed only in relation to themselves; they did not perceive members of other races as fully-fledged beings. It was considered acceptable to do whatever one pleased with such peoples—for example, sterilization under the guise of providing aid. The Aschen's downfall began when their crimes were confirmed by Asgard. Unlike the Goa'uld, they lacked the strength to withstand the wrath of such a powerful civilization. For the first time in history, Beleskiner will operate alongside the Huttaks.

The virus he uploaded to the databases was Asgardian in origin. The virus's creator—a symbiote—had no idea of the capabilities of an entire department of Asgardian computer specialists, united in rage. He would soon learn of this, as the attack on the Aschen Confederacy would occur at the appointed time. The descendant of Galaran, Svorin, Tollan, Orban, Urvashi, and Asgard was already approaching. All the ships were Huttaks, as the development of new combat units required considerable time, and existing designs were used for immediate defense.

The combined might of the fleet was capable of striking terror into any enemy, especially if that enemy saw the green inscriptions on the hulls of the Black Fleet ships. And the presence of Beleskiner Thor in formation with the Huttaks was bound to cause mass panic. A triple dose of panic would be added by the revelation that the Asgard had temporarily provided beam teleporters for the ships, as well as specialists under the guise of camouflage. The Aschen will be attacked using tactics such as teleporting hostile populations or transporting important government officials. A landing by airborne troops is also planned.

The Aschen favor remote-controlled ships and robots as their army, providing an incomparably higher level of security than civilian facilities. However, there are ways around these limitations. Their trust in artificial intelligence can be characterized as flawed, although, on the other hand, they have achieved some results. Moreover, they were capable of creating stars from gas giants. However, no one understood the purpose of such actions. Technically, the Goa'uld possessed comparable power, but they saw no reason for such feats. The claim that this was done to increase crop yields on Vorsini is dubious; more likely, it was a technical project demonstrating the feasibility of such a feat. An entire star system served as an experimental testing ground, which was within their capabilities, but it required the colossal resources of an entire race. A race inherently monstrous in nature, so when the invasion began, the Tok'ra would have no sympathy for these bastards.

"Hydra Dominatus," flashed through the Tok'ra's mind. A battle cry for intelligence, though they never actually shouted it. But this time, something great is happening: for the first time, Goa'uld intelligence is collaborating with the Asgard, as the Asgard are creating entire viruses for the Goa'uld, and they will be implementing them.

Some viruses had already penetrated the Ashen's monitoring system, so they didn't detect the fleet on their scanners, which was already several hours away from their systems. Computer security units wouldn't be able to determine the source of the attack, not to mention that they were being targeted by viruses written by Elder Race programmers specifically to destroy every bit of their information.

To some extent, the Hydra agent even felt sorry for them, but only a little. However, as soon as he remembered that this race was destroying other species with biological weapons, all pity instantly vanished. They even deserved an orbital bombardment, which would be carried out locally, primarily on the robot army's storage centers, spaceports, and a few other facilities. The Aschen would remember this day forever.
