Our main character is Kalam. He is lying unconscious, spreading his both hands and legs on a rotting, dirty and foul-smelling heap of garbage, as if he has no reason left to live. The spark of his eyes has been lost and he has no desire to live, he just wants to die lying right there. His entire body from head to toe is covered in dust and black soil and on top of him, rotting food, torn plastic and a lot of garbage from all over the world is also piled up. As soon as the people walking on the road see him, because of the curse on him, a terrible anger suddenly arises in their minds for him and those people think of killing him. But the next moment they stop with hatred and think that if they kill this wretched person, our own hands will get dirty. Then to take out their frustration, they deliberately throw rotting and filthy garbage on him and move forward. But Kalam was not affected by anyone's abuse or garbage now, because for the past 1 year, every day, the same has been happening with him continuously.
Kalam took a long and cold breath, as if a heavy burden was pressed in his chest. In a very slow and trembling voice, he said, "Exactly one year... today an entire year has passed since that matter." That scene started revolving in his mind when in every corner of this world, suddenly strange round doors started opening in the sky and on the ground. Such a strange light was coming out from within those doors which was pricking the eyes, and with them came out those strange creatures. No one had ever heard about them in stories nor had ever thought about them even in dreams. In no time, those creatures caused destruction in the whole world and finished half the population forever. Among those unlucky people were Kalam's parents and his a little sister too. Even today Kalam regrets why he did not die with them, why those creatures left him alive? He drowned in his blurred memories. He still remembers, that day was his birthday. The whole family was very happy and his papa had gifted him a shiny pen. Everyone was celebrating the birthday together, the cake was kept on the table and Kalam was just about to cut it... then such a terrible sound of the house door breaking came as if a heavy truck had collided with it. That sound was so loud that ears started bursting. As soon as the door broke, the air inside the house suddenly started becoming heavy and a strange pressure started building up, as if something was trying to press them down. Every member of the house was trembling with fear. His little sister got so much scared that she immediately clung to her mom and started saying repeatedly while crying, "Mom, what kind of feeling is this? I am feeling very scared."
Kalam's little sister was just sobbing while clinging to her mother when suddenly they all heard a very heavy sound of footsteps. That sound was as if some very gigantic and heavy animal was slowly placing its steps on the ground. With its every step, a slight vibration was being felt on the floor of the house. As those heavy steps were moving towards their room, they were hearing a faint and scary growling sound. That sound was as if some terrible predatory animal had been hungry for many days and finding the prey very close, was dripping its saliva. Then, suddenly that sound of scary footsteps and that growl full of hunger became absolutely silent. Such a silence spread in the whole house which felt like the silence of death. Kalam and his whole family were panting badly out of fear. In that silence, they all could clearly hear their own heartbeats—'dhak-dhak, dhak-dhak'. They all were completely drenched in sweat out of fear and even breathing was becoming heavy. The only question in their minds was, "Has that thing gone? Are we saved?" They were just looking at each other's faces when suddenly that silence broke with a loud and heart-wrenching explosion. That predatory shadow came with lightning-like agility and hit the door with such a terrible collision as if a high-speed truck had entered straight inside the house. The strong wood of the door scattered like straws, iron hinges got uprooted and hit the walls, and a deep cloud of dust and debris spread in the entire room.
As that deep cloud of dust slowly started clearing, the growling sound of that predator became even more sharp and loud. That sound was clearly telling that the beast has found its prey and is terribly happy with its victory. As soon as the dust reduced a bit more, two glowing and scary eyes started appearing from the middle of the darkness. Seeing those burning eyes, the hearts of Kalam and his family started beating so fast as if they would come out tearing the chest right now. Out of fear, icy cold sweat emerged on everyone's forehead. Then, as soon as the dust cleared completely, the scene in front of them was one that froze their blood. That was no ordinary animal, but a gigantic and terrible wolf-looking creature, from whose mouth sticky saliva was dripping.
It did not have four legs like an ordinary animal, rather it had 6 terrible legs which looked so dangerous that if you keep a human's skull under its leg, it would crush it. Its mouth was also not like a common wolf, its mouth was so big and wide like some gigantic cave that as if it would take the entire head of a bull in its mouth at once and with those scary pointed teeth, which were bent inwards, would chew any prey raw. That wolf-like animal had a deep black colored pearl on its forehead and it was so much black that it was not shining even in the bright light of the room, rather it felt as if it was swallowing all the light within itself. It was an accursed animal that could change its speed at any moment. Its entire body was covered with thick and black hair and there were big and pointed nails in all its six legs which would shatter any big wall of stone like soil in just one strike. Seeing that shadow of death together, a scream came out from everyone's throat that shook the whole house.
Hearing their scream, that terrible animal started laughing like hyenas laugh, hearing that strange and scary laughter it felt as if it was enjoying seeing them suffer. Then suddenly it lifted one of its front right legs in the air and in no time, thick dark black smoke started rising from inside that leg. That smoke was so scary as if some black shadow was clinging to the leg. The very next moment it struck its same leg on the ground with full force. As the leg collided, a loud explosion happened on the ground and the entire house shook like an earthquake. That jerk was so tremendous that Kalam and his family members could not handle themselves and all four of them fell down on the ground. When they all were lying down helplessly, then Kalam's father showed amazing courage. In the desire to save his family from that mouth of death, he caught a heavy table lying nearby from one corner and pushed it towards that beast with all his strength. After this, he quickly picked up his wife and children and made them sit in a safe corner of the room and himself stood in front of them chest out, as if he would protect them at any cost and would not let that devil reach them.
As soon as that heavy table moved towards that beast, it blew it to pieces with one of its strikes in the blink of an eye. Sharp and small pieces of wood spread in the whole room like an explosion. Seeing Kalam's father standing chest out like this in front of his family, that beast tilted its neck and started laughing even more loudly. Its voice was exactly like a mad hyena laughs seeing its prey suffer. There was a cruelty in its every move. It was not just looking bloodthirsty, but now it was behaving like a cunning predator, who instead of killing its prey directly, wants to break them mentally. It was enjoying their fear and helplessness, as if it would get real peace only by killing them after torturing them.
Then that beast slowly started moving forward while rubbing its pointed nails on the floor. Its nails were sinking into the stone ground as if some sharp saw was tearing the concrete. From that sound, everyone's ears were bursting and heartbeats were starting to stop. Seeing this, those four accepted that their death is certain today. Kalam's mother caught the heads of both her children from behind with trembling hands and clung them to her chest. Accepting defeat, she closed her eyes and turned her face down, as if she did not want to see this scary end. In her ears, only that terrible sound of cutting the floor like a saw was echoing. That accursed devil was moving forward step by step with his loathsome laughter.
Kalam's father had also now thought that now no hope of their survival is left. He was very nervous and scared from inside, but he had made a promise to himself as if he is ready even to give his life to protect his family. Thinking this, he closed his eyes and tilted his face downwards. At that very moment, that terrible beast slowly lifted its heavy and scary front right leg in the air.
The same deep black smoke started coming out again from the lifted leg of that beast and in no time its pointed nails became twice as big as before and even more scary. As soon as that beast jumped towards Kalam's father with its scary pointed nails, at that moment it felt as if everything became 'slow motion'. In front of the closed eyes of Kalam's father, his entire life revolved in a moment like a film. He remembered that moment when Kalam was born and happiness had come in the house, and then that day when Kalam's little sister had come into his hands for the first time. All those happy moments that they all had spent together started floating in front of his eyes. The very next moment, Kalam's father lifted his face up and opened his eyes. He saw that the beast is in the air and is pouncing towards him with its death-like nails. But even seeing death in front, a faint peaceful smile came on his face, as if he had the satisfaction that he fulfilled his duty for his family. Before anyone could understand anything, that beast attacked with the speed of lightning and in a single moment separated the neck of Kalam's father from the torso.
As soon as his head fell down on the stone ground, hearing its heavy sound Kalam's mother's heart trembled—she started thinking what is the sound of this thing falling? But the very next moment, in front of her eyes, a terrible fountain of blood erupted from her husband's torso. As soon as she opened her eyes and lifted her face while trembling, a scream came out from her throat that shook the whole house. She just could not believe that all this is true and started crying bitterly. The torso of Kalam's father was still standing firm at its place for a few moments, as if even death could not force him to step back. That beast slowly came to them and with its cruel laughter lifted its heavy paw in the air. He struck a powerful blow on that lifeless torso with full strength. That strike was so terrible that father's body broke the side brick wall like paper and fell to the other side. A deep cloud of dust and debris of bricks spread in the whole room.
