Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Hola Treasure

Returning to his dormitory, Hua Yi opened his virtual interface and froze for a moment when he looked at the Friendship Points column.

It showed one hundred points. Yesterday, there had only been twenty, and before that, it had remained at zero. This meant that his contact with Raiden Mei today had directly earned him a full eighty Friendship Points. Now, he could perform another Friendship Supply pull.

As for the time spent, although his interaction with Raiden Mei today was longer than yesterday, it wasn't significantly so. Friendship Points shouldn't be affected so simply by the way he spent time with her at least,

it shouldn't be that straightforward. It likely had nothing to do with their sword practice. Was it because Raiden Mei's favorability toward him had significantly improved today?

Yesterday, they were strangers with odd motivations, but today they could be considered friends perhaps even close ones. Raiden Mei had truly sensed a part of Hua Yi's heart, his yearning to become stronger.

If he could continue to acquire Friendship Points at this rate daily, or if the amount even increased, Raiden Mei alone might provide enough for a daily pull. In the future, as he came into contact with more Valkyries and even Trainee Valkyries, Hua Yi might even manage a ten-pull every day.

However, by that time, the primary function of the Friendship Supply would likely just be providing him with Coins. To truly increase his strength, he would have to rely on the yet-to-appear High-Grade Supply, which required Crystals.

Setting aside these various thoughts, Hua Yi made his move and performed a single Friendship Supply pull.

He wasn't the type to hoard Friendship Points for a ten-pull. His previous ten-pull had resulted in nothing but green-tier items, proving that the Friendship Supply lacked any sort of "pity" mechanism. Therefore, it was better to use the points as soon as he had them; enhancing his strength a bit earlier was always for the best.

Three seconds later, looking at the blue light emanating from the virtual item, Hua Yi fell into deep thought.

So, it was actually possible to get a two-star item directly from the Friendship Supply? And yet his previous ten-pull had been nothing but green items…

"Could I actually be an 'unlucky soul'?"

No, no, no. It had to be that the Friendship Supply not only lacked a guarantee but also had a very low probability of dropping two-star items. The fact that a blue item appeared on his eleventh pull only proved his luck was good!

What Hua Yi had pulled wasn't an initial two-star Stigmata, but rather a two-star item worth two thousand Coins a Hola Treasure. Had it been a Stigmata, Hua Yi wouldn't be in contemplation; he would simply be ecstatic.

Watching his Coin count jump to five thousand, Hua Yi stopped obsessing over his gains and losses and closed the virtual interface.

His two-star Selena (T) required ten thousand Coins to reach its maximum level, and he was still quite far off. Although he had pulled a two-star Hola Treasure, essentially, his actual strength had not increased.

No… compared to when he had first obtained Selena (T), he had still grown stronger. His training during this period hadn't been in vain.

Hua Yi shook his aching right hand. When he swung the bamboo sword earlier, even though he often held it with both hands, the right hand acted as the primary force while the left played a supporting role. At the moment, the condition of his right hand was much worse than his left. Watching his right hand tremble slightly, almost beyond his control, Hua Yi curled his lips into a smile.

"Keep working hard, my Kirin Arm. Your future goal should be to take down a Honkai Beast with a single punch."

Then, he continued his training.

Rest? Walking back from Senba Academy to his dormitory at a moderate pace already counted as a rest. If he waited for his hands and spirit to fully recover, it would take at least two or three days time Hua Yi didn't want to waste.

According to scientific theory, the optimal sleep time for teenagers is eight to nine hours, and about eight hours for adults. This is said to be the healthiest duration. However, Hua Yi didn't intend to follow theory blindly.

After a week of experimentation, he discovered that with his physique, six hours of sleep provided the same recovery effect as eight hours for a normal person. Thus, he had consistently gone to bed at midnight and woken up at six the next morning.

Normally, such a rest wouldn't be considered too short, but that was for people without such extreme physical consumption. Hua Yi's daily exercise was enough to leave a strong man exhausted; it was something that could not be easily rectified by a mere six hours of sleep.

It was a new day, the start of the week the day students headed to school.

Unlike the others who frequently complained and lamented the long school hours and the brevity of the weekend, Hua Yi actually felt relieved. While he knew it wasn't great to take advantage of the teachers' kindness by dozing off in class, he truly felt that Monday through Friday was much more relaxing than his weekends. He could at least catch some intermittent rest during the day.

If contact with Raiden Mei was a way for his mind to relax, then the weekday classes were when Hua Yi allowed his body to rest briefly. It was thanks to the fact that he had already mastered high school knowledge;

even if his behavior didn't quite meet the standards of an exemplary student, his exam results were excellent. Otherwise, the teachers would have forced him to focus for the sake of his future.

Faced with the helpless gazes of the beautiful teachers, Hua Yi offered a silent apology but had no intention of changing. He wasn't wasting time on purpose, after all.

"Hua Yi, are you still not coming to the cafeteria with us? It seems like you've never been there before?"

It was the usual invitation. Although Hua Yi hadn't answered yet, his classmates had already guessed the response. After all, he had said those words many times before.

"No, I've prepared my own food. Maybe next time if there's a chance. Sorry."

A polite but firm rejection. His classmates expressed their helplessness. At first, everyone thought Hua Yi was using this as a tactful way to turn them down because the person asking didn't fit his preferences.

The first girl to invite him had even been sad for a while. Later, however, everyone realized that Hua Yi said the exact same thing to every single person who invited him.

He truly treated everyone the same. Because of this, no one felt hurt by the rejection anymore; instead, they felt a bit encouraged. They simply continued their silent efforts, hoping that enough sincerity would eventually break through his defenses.
