The impact rattled through Alex's body, the sheer force driving him half a step back.
'Shit!'
He cursed under his breath while enduring the dull ache in his ribcage. Before Alex even had time to recover, the baby-faced girl snapped her legs up in a low kick toward his knee, but he twisted just in time and threw a desperate counter-punch of his own. She flashed him a mocking smile and dodged the blow by an inch. Using that split second where his hands were still fully withdrawn, the baby-faced girl used the opportunity to deliver a sharp knife-hand chop towards his neck.
Alex gritted his teeth from the attack and tried to deliver another punch, this time faster. But it felt like she had already anticipated what he was about to do and shifted just enough to let his knuckle graze her cloth. She then answered back with a back elbow that smashed directly into his shoulder.
