Chapter 12 - Chapter 12:The Honeymoon Twist

The small seaside town felt inexplicably magical today. The morning sun sparkled like diamonds across the crests of the blue waves. Arindam had planned every detail of these post-wedding days himself. A secluded resort where the balcony opened directly to the sea—no noise, no crowds, just the two of them.

Bharsha stood on the balcony, her hair flying wildly in the salty breeze. She took a deep, contented breath and said, "Can you feel this scent, Arindam? It feels like the taste of freedom."

Arindam stepped up beside her, teasing gently, "I don't know about freedom, but all I smell is sea salt and humidity."

They spent the entire day on the beach, walking barefoot on the sand, writing each other's names, and bickering over trivial things—it felt as though time had come to a standstill. At night, as the roar of the waves crashed against the resort walls, Bharsha rested her head on Arindam's shoulder.

Suddenly, she asked in a low voice, "Do you ever get scared, Arindam?"

"Scared of what?"

"This happiness... this peace. Everything feels so perfect. They say perfect things don't last very long."

Arindam remained silent for a moment. Then, taking her hand in his, he said, "I'm not afraid of perfection, Bharsha. I'm afraid of the possibility of losing it."

Bharsha didn't say another word; she simply leaned in closer. But neither of them knew that the quiet morning would bring news that would change everything.

The next morning, Arindam received a call. As he spoke, his expression grew increasingly tense. Bharsha could tell from a distance that something had shifted.

"What is it, Arindam?"

Arindam put the phone down and spoke slowly. "An offer from the office. A posting in Singapore. A massive promotion... but there's a catch. I have to join within two weeks."

The light, romantic air of the honeymoon turned heavy in an instant.

"That soon?" Bharsha's voice trembled.

Silence descended upon the room. Outside, the waves continued to crash as they always had, but inside them, a storm had begun. Bharsha walked down to the water's edge alone. Arindam followed, saying, "I've waited years for an opportunity like this... but now, I feel like letting it all go."

Bharsha turned around abruptly. Her eyes were wet, but her chin was held high with pride.

"No. You will not give up this opportunity for me."

Arindam stood stunned. "But you are my biggest dream, Bharsha!"

Bharsha shook her head. "We won't dream separate dreams, Arindam; we will dream together. If you give up this path today for me, one day, a silent resentment might build up in your heart. I don't want that."

Her eyes glistened, but her smile was firm. "Love isn't just about staying close; love is about helping each other take flight."

That was the ultimate twist of their honeymoon. That night, under the moonlight, Arindam held her and asked directly, "Will you come with me?"

Bharsha paused. "My job... our families..."

"Everything can be managed, Bharsha. As long as we are together, we will find a way through."

Bharsha looked out at the blue expanse of the sea. A new country, a new sky, and an unknown future lay ahead. She slowly reached out and gripped Arindam's hand firmly.

"I'll go on one condition."

"What is it?"

"Wherever we go, we must never lose those two seats by the window of our lives."

Arindam laughed, pulling her close. "Those are our permanent bookings."

The honeymoon didn't end with a sorrowful goodbye; it ended with a brave decision for a new life. Two tickets, one shared future. Somewhere far away, by a brand new window, another story was waiting to be written.
