Chapter 25 - Chapter 25:The Clear Sky After the Strom

The torrential rain of the night finally subsided toward dawn.

Droplets of water clung to the balcony railings, dripping slowly. The sky was perfectly clear, yet the air still carried the scent of damp earth and a lingering, misty quality.

The moment Bharsha woke up, she felt a peculiar heaviness in her chest. Trisha's sudden appearance had stirred invisible waves in the quiet house, waves that hadn't quite settled yet. She saw Arindam sleeping soundly beside her. Though his face was peaceful, Bharsha's mind was a whirlwind of questions.

She got up quietly and went to the kitchen to boil some tea. As she watched the steam rise from the water, Arindam's low voice drifted from behind.

"Can I have a cup too?"

Bharsha turned around, slightly startled. "You're awake?"

"Yeah. If you aren't beside me, I feel it. I can't sleep in an empty bed."

A faint smile touched Bharsha's lips, but the sadness in her eyes remained.

They sat across from each other at the dining table.

Arindam broke the silence. "About what happened yesterday... are you still feeling uneasy?"

Bharsha looked directly into his eyes. "I trust you, Arindam. But it takes time to process the shock of a past that suddenly knocks on your door."

Arindam looked down, thinking for a moment. "What exactly are you afraid of?"

Bharsha hesitated. "Sometimes I wonder... do I really know everything about you? Or is there a part of you that remains hidden in the shadows, unsaid?"

It was a difficult question, but Arindam didn't hide today. He reached out and took her hand. "Whatever happened before you entered my life is history now. I don't deny it, but I have no desire or path to return to it. You are my present, and my entire future belongs to you."

"I don't want you to force the past away," Bharsha said softly. "I just want there to be no secrets between us."

The morning passed in a long, transparent conversation.

Arindam opened up about what his relationship with Trisha was really like, why it fell apart, and how broken he had been at that time. Bharsha listened intently. She asked questions, but there was no accusation in her tone.

In the end, Bharsha let out a long sigh. "You know, seeing Trisha didn't make me jealous. I was just afraid—afraid that there might be a subtle crack in our foundation that I hadn't noticed."

Arindam smiled. "If there was any gap, I think our talk today has filled it perfectly."

When the kids returned in the afternoon, the silent house hummed with life again. Ishan ran to Bharsha and asked, "Mom, was there a big storm last night?"

Bharsha smiled and kissed his forehead. "Yes, honey. A very big storm."

"But I wasn't scared at all!" Ishan said proudly.

Arindam placed a hand on his son's head and looked at Bharsha with a meaningful gaze. "We aren't afraid anymore, either."

That night, Rahul called. He shared that after visiting them, he had spent a lot of time talking to Meher. He realized that in his race for success, he had been neglecting his family.

After hanging up, Bharsha remarked, "See? Storms don't just destroy; sometimes they teach us how to rebuild."

Standing on the quiet rooftop under the bright moonlight, they felt the stillness of the night.

"Do you think Trisha will ever come back?" Bharsha asked.

Arindam shook his head confidently. "No. She came to unburden herself. And we are here for ourselves."

Bharsha laughed softly. "Your answers seem very mature today."

"Because I was truly afraid, Bharsha," Arindam admitted. "If I had seen even a moment of distrust in your eyes, I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself."

Bharsha squeezed his hand. "Trust isn't about being blind, Arindam. It's about knowing everything and still choosing to stay."

Arindam decided that from now on, one day every week would be 'Family Day.' No office calls, no social media—just them and their children.

As Bharsha rested her head on his shoulder by the window, the air outside was calm.

Arindam whispered, "Storms will come, Bharsha—that's life. But if we hold on tight, no storm can break our home."

The morning after the old storm taught them a vital lesson: love isn't just a fleeting emotion; it's a conscious, daily decision. And today, they chose each other once again—honoring the past, but building a future together.
