Chapter 6 - Staring Into The Unknown!

Sylus was still in the bathroom, looking at the being. He couldn't understand how he could have the same face as him and what was going on in front of them.

"This isn't possible, how do you look like me?" he asked, taking a step back. There was bound to be something that the monster was trying to do. He knew better than to stand there and indulge in anything that would come from the monster that came out of its mouth, knowing it wasnt going to be something that anyone would want.

"You still hold back your powers. Are you trying to let the whole world die?" The being asked Sylus, its voice was calm, but sent shivers through Sylus's spine.

"What in the world are you talking about here?" Sylus turned to look at the being, his eyes were no longer filled with fear, but now they were laced with confusion, knowing that it wasnt going to be possible for him to have any power.

"I don't have any powers, I am a dungeon cleaner and at most nothing among men in this city."

"So you see yourself as nothing?" the being asked, walking close to Sylus, extending his arm to touch Sylus.

Sylus tried to dodge his touch, but he couldn't move as the being placed his finger on Sylus's forehead.

"You have within you the fifteenth element, the element that can bring about the undoing of reality and the end of times."

The moment he spoke, visions were burned into Sylus's eyes. He could see a strange power emitting from what seemed to be a great dragon. The power had different shades, a mixture of shadows, fire, lightning, and void.

"What is this?" Sylus muttered, trying to pull away from the vision, but he was being pulled back in.

"That is chaos, and within you that power lies dormant. Because you believe that you are weak and that there is no need for you to have it, while you hide away here, worrying about nothing but yourself. People are dying, nations will fall, and they will come for you."

Sylus could see the madness; it was consuming he couldn't understand what was happening. But in the vision, he saw a man who stood as tall as a giant, a sword in the man's grip and gauntlets in his hand.

In front of the man stood sixteen pillars, each with a different color and attribute. Standing behind the pillars were armies and hordes of creatures. The man was outnumbered, but he wasnt about to back down. The man leaped up with his blade; one swing brought down two pillars, shattering the earth.

It was a brawl, but the man wasnt the one going down; he was the one destroying them with each attack.

Sylus moved closer to see if he would get a glimpse of the man's face, but when he got to the man's front, the man's face was covered with shadows, almost like they were hiding who he was.

"What is this?"

Sylus asked as he started breathing heavily. He saw the man dash for the army, roaring at the top of his voice. Then a blast of light covered the battlefield, and then there was nothing left.

The being removed his finger from Sylus's head, allowing him to catch his breath. He watched as Sylus ran his hand through his hair, trying to see if he understood what was going on.

"What was that?!" he asked the being in front of him, trying to get him to explain what he had witnessed. "That wasnt a vision or just some image, who was that man?!"

The being remained silent, looking at Sylus. It was almost like he was examining him, trying to see if he would get something clear from him. The being waved his hand, and from it came a small dark storm, bathed in celestial light. Within the storm was fire, lightning, shadow, void, and multiple elements, even some not seen by the mortal's eyes. Black, purple, and blue churned as beastly screams echoed from within.

"This is your power, the fifteenth element," the being turned to look at Sylus, his gaze sharpened. "This is Chaos."

Sylus took a step back. He knew that whatever it was looking at was not some ordinary power, and if he was going to be listening to the being in front of him, then it would mean that he had lost it.

"I dont have that power, I damaged my core when I was younger trying to protect."

"Freya." The being was completing his sentence.

Sylus was bewildered to see that the being knew his sister's name; he couldn't imagine that there was something as possible as that.

"How do you know that name?" he asked, walking to the being. "How do you know my sister's name?"

"The same way I know that you would do anything to protect her, the same way I know that once you saw that Freya was a dual elemental, you gave up everything to make sure she would become a warrior. You were the one who filled her forms, you made her train."

The being moved closer to Sylus, staring into what seemed to be his soul. "You made sure she never felt alone, you clean her armor when she is sleeping. But I also know you cry at night, looking up to the heavens, praying that your sister would never get hurt. Pleading for forgiveness for being a weak brother."

Sylus wasnt talking anymore. He stood there staring at the being in front of him, and he didnt need anyone to tell him who it was anymore.

"You," he moved even closer, slowly raising his hand, touching the being's cheek. "You are me."

He couldn't move, looking at himself, there was so much setting them apart. It was almost like they were two sides of a coin.

"I am you, but if you keep walking the path of calling yourself weak. You will not only lose everything, but you will be a barren wasteland of nothingness, empty and void of anything." The being spoke slowly, looking at Sylus, knowing that there was so much going on in his mind.

"But, I dont have anything within me. I can't feel anything." Sylus looked at the being in front of him, he didnt know if he was going to believe it or believe anything he was told. "I am not sure you understand that there is no way for me to have an element, let alone the power you have. I have a damaged core, so if this is some kind of sick mind game, stop it."

"You are a fool if you doubt what I am saying. Within you lies the powers that almost every great being, every government, every divine being would tear themselves up for. And you choose to believe you are weak?" The being sounded harsh. Looking at Sylus, there was no sign of him even believing a thing.

"Yeah, I thought you were me, but turns out I was wrong because if you were me, then you would know that it is not going to be possible to convince me." Sylus turned, trying to leave, but his mind was now hazy. It was almost like the being in front of him was trying to play a trick on him.

The being snapped his finger, and both he and Sylus were now in the living room. Sylus turned to look at the being. He was about to get mad, so he was trying to avoid anything of that sort.

"I dont know who you are, but you are about stepping on all ten of my toes, and you dont want to see me angry."

Sylus was filled with rage, and as his anger shimmered, the room began to shake, almost like it was resonating with his anger.

"I agree, you are weak, that is why you will stand here and watch Freya perish. You will sit down here with your tail tucked between your legs as you bathe in denial of your strength," the being retorted, his voice was violent, laced with pure rage.

"What nonsense!" Sylus barked, his body was now emitting a dark energy that took the colors, black and purple. The room was now shaking as glasses began shattering. He wasn't sure what the being in front of him was trying to say.

"I am not sure you even know Freya. She is one of the strongest warriors in this city, and nothing can take her down. I will not say it again, leave this place!"

The being turned to look at the television, and immediately it turned on, and there was a broadcast about the behemoth. Freya and Hugo could be seen struggling to hold their own against the monster.

"Then take a look," he pointed at the television, making Sylus look at the broadcast.

Sylus turned to see what was going on live. It wasnt a joke, if it was, then it was too real.

'We are live from the West of Veron City, in front of us, SS-ranked warrior, Freya Cage, and S-ranked warrior, Hugo Mortia, and fifteen more S-ranks have been battling with the beast in front of them for the past hour. They have done everything possible to contain the monster, but with each fall, the creature seems to come back even stronger. The warriors are now holding the beast back, for all the citizens of Veron would be evacuated. They are sacrificing their lives for our betterment.'

Sylus stood there in horror; he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"Freya?"
