Ava's POV
The north alley was clear.
Thirty seconds, Leo had said. The window was thirty seconds and they used twenty-two of them getting from the disabled vehicle to the alley entrance, pressed against the brick wall while Cho checked the angle and Reeves covered the rear and the sounds of the firefight at the perimeter told her without words that Park and the other agents were buying them every second they had.
She didn't think about Park. She thought about the next step. That was the only way to move through something like this one step, then the next, don't look at the whole thing because the whole thing was too large.
They moved up the alley.
The service entrance Leo had identified was a plain metal door set into the brick of the corner building. Cho reached it first. Tried the handle.
Locked.
Leo was already beside him. He did something she didn't fully see something small and practiced, a tool she hadn't known he was carrying and the door opened in fourteen seconds.
