Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: It's Over

"It's useless. Ghosts never disappear. Even if you possess the magic power of the Ten Wizard Saints, you'll eventually be worn down to death!"

Jose, the Guild Master of Phantom Lord, laughed loudly and cast his magic again. A purple lightning ghost broke through Erza's blade defense, instantly coiling around her and trapping her firmly.

"It's over, you brat!"

As the magic circle in Jose's hand rotated, the purple lightning ghost tightened like a python, making Erza scream in pain.

"It's your end!"

Erza grit her teeth and used her massive magic power to shatter the surrounding stone pillars, causing the roof to begin collapsing.

Taking advantage of Jose dodging the falling debris, Erza seized the opportunity and broke through the constriction of the ghostly python in one go.

Moving nimbly, she stepped onto a falling boulder and instantly lunged toward Jose, requipping into her Heavens Wheel Armor mid-air.

Her blades danced wildly, forming a destructive storm around her!

"No!"

Jose let out a Roar of shock and anger. Before he could react, he was instantly swept into the storm, suffering thousands of slashes in moments as blood sprayed from countless wounds.

However, he did not give up his struggle!

His purple magic power surged, and four magic circles unfolded in the sky, indiscriminately bombarding the blade storm.

But how could Erza let him go? If she couldn't completely defeat Jose this time, there would definitely not be a second chance!

"This is the end!!!"

Erza chose to endure Jose's magical bombardment head-on. Even as her armor shattered, she didn't take a single step back. Her sword speed increased once more, and the terrifying storm swept in all directions, turning everything around into ashes.

This blade storm was so powerful that it broke right through the castle. Even those outside could see its terror; everything was destroyed, everything was annihilated!

The destructive storm lasted for a full ten minutes before finally subsiding.

Erza collapsed on the ground, exhausted, while Jose was buried under the rubble, his fate unknown.

Acnologia's figure blurred as he appeared before Erza, casually taking off his coat and draping it over her.

He picked Erza up in a princess carry and praised, "Well done!"

Although Erza was so tired she could barely keep her eyes open, she still whispered, "Don't carry me like this, it's too embarrassing..."

Acnologia, however, didn't care: "You're my daughter, I'll carry you however I want!"

What an overbearing father... Erza closed her eyes helplessly, but without realizing it, the corners of her mouth curled into a slight smile.

Have it your way then... Acnologia looked down at Jose beneath his feet and found him to be quite an eyesore. He kicked him two hundred meters away, sending him crashing into the ruins.

"Separation Augmentation!"

He transferred all of Erza's injuries onto Jose. This old trash could finally be of some use; he could spend the rest of his life waiting for death in a hospital bed.

Once the pain vanished, the sleeping Erza's brow relaxed.

Boom!

Suddenly, a massive iron fist came crashing in. Acnologia frowned and instantly raised his foot, stepping on the fist and bringing it to a firm halt.

Gajeel had recovered his strength. Standing ahead, his gaze swept over the unconscious Jose, and his eyes burned with battle intent: "Alright, if this old geezer is done for, then I'm the strongest in Phantom Lord!"

"Gajeel, you brat, aren't you done yet? Why are you coming after me instead of Natsu?"

Acnologia really wanted to complain: Have you forgotten? I even treated you to a pig's leg when you were a kid.

Gajeel laughed arrogantly: "I can sense that you're also a Dragon Slayer Mage. Are you scared? Put that woman down and give me a fair fight."

Saying that, he rushed forward, his fists turning into iron pillars, striking dozens of times in an instant.

Acnologia's figure flashed as he appeared behind Gajeel, kicking him in the butt and sending him flying a hundred meters to plunge headfirst into the ruins.

"What incredible strength!" Gajeel flipped over and scrambled up. He patted the dust from his hair, his battle intent growing even stronger. This was getting interesting.

"Witness the Roar of the Iron Dragon!"

He opened his mouth to gather magic power, a mysterious magic circle unfolded, and in an instant, a violent Roar erupted.

"Erza is already asleep. Don't be so noisy, kid."

Acnologia decided to teach him a lesson. His figure blurred as he easily dodged all of Gajeel's attacks, seizing the chance to kick him in the butt again.

This time he used a bit more force, kicking him thousands of meters away. Gajeel crashed headlong into the ground and lost consciousness completely.

On the other side, everyone's battles were coming to an end. With the support of Enhancer Magic, very few were injured.

"Erza is so cool, she actually took down the Phantom Lord Guild Master, one of the Ten Wizard Saints, all by herself."

"Mirajane too. It's been a long time since I've seen her use Take Over Magic. Did something happen?"

"Irene really helped out a lot!"

After everyone returned, they all wore joyful smiles. This battle had been truly satisfying.

Suddenly, a large troop arrived with rhythmic footsteps. It was the Rune Knights of the Magic Council. Natsu and the others, who were about to run away, were suppressed on the spot.

"The Council!"

Makarov suddenly snapped out of it. Seeing the devastation, he knelt on the ground and broke down in tears. With the streets destroyed like this, he wouldn't be able to pay for the damages even if he went bankrupt... Next, the Rune Knights stationed themselves and began questioning everyone one by one. It took a full week for it to finally end.

"Why do I have to do this kind of thing?"

By this time, Irene had put on work clothes and a construction helmet, following Erza to haul bricks.

An Ultimate Augmentation Mage doing this sort of work—no one would believe it if told.

Erza hummed softly, "Stop complaining. Everyone is working, you're the only one talking so much."

Irene's muttering filled her ears all day; it was the first time she realized her mom could be such a chatterbox.

Irene was speechless. If Erza weren't supervising, she wouldn't be doing this. Having just finished a fight, she should be having a nice sleep right now.

Irene pointed at Gray and Natsu, who were fighting heatedly in the distance: "Aren't you going to do something about those two? They just smashed the wall that was just built."

Erza was furious: "What are you two bastards doing?!"

"Erza!"

"Run!"

Natsu and Gray scrambled apart and turned to run, only to be caught by Erza the next moment and given a sound thrashing.

By the time Erza returned, Irene was nowhere to be found.

"Lucy!"

Erza suddenly turned around and shouted, startling Lucy who was slacking off. Lucy looked around nervously, "Ah!?"

Boom!

Suddenly, a bolt of golden lightning struck beside Lucy, nearly scaring the soul out of her.

"What are you doing?"

Lucy was instantly enraged and rolled up her sleeves, wanting to go forward and argue, but then she was intimidated by a cold, sharp look from Laxus and slunk back behind Erza.

He strode over and mocked their disheveled appearance, "You guys are so useless, getting beaten like this by Phantom Lord."

Erza snapped, "What are you saying?"

He stared at Erza and sneered, "You know exactly what I mean. These trash in the guild..."

"You bastard, you keep calling everyone trash. Let's see who the real trash is!"

Natsu's anger flared as he charged forward with a punch. However, Laxus turned into lightning and easily dodged, kicking him twenty meters away.

Happy turned his head away, unable to watch.

Laxus threw his head back and laughed: "Once I inherit the guild, all you trash will disappear. I'll create the truly strongest guild!"

"The world's strongest!"

After saying that, he vanished into a bolt of lightning.

Lucy sat on a chair at the front desk, looking a bit unhappy: "That guy doesn't seem like a good person, and what was that about inheriting the guild?"

Mirajane leaned on the table and said helplessly, "Actually, Laxus is the Master's grandson. He's much stronger than me and is one of the strongest candidates. If the Master steps down, he might really be the one to inherit it."

Lucy sighed softly. If that guy inherited the guild, it probably wouldn't be as warm and free as it is now.

Mirajane comforted her, "Don't worry, the Master has likely anticipated this and will make the proper arrangements. We'll just have to wait and see."

"Yeah!"
