Chapter 118 - Chapter 118 Do It, My Dear Phainon

After traversing the lengthy data tunnel, Omnimon emerged into a sea of blossoms.

From the surrounding data she deduced this place was called Aeryn Miseré, and the local calendar read Light-Year 4931.

Hovering above the flower field, Omnimon glanced down and spotted two petite maidens.

At the same time, the girls gazed back at her with open curiosity.

And it wasn't just them—Omnimon tilted her helm, locking eyes across the distance with Caeluslana, who watched from the shadows.

[Caeluslana: I see you…]

[Digi-Na: The amount of data inside you should've burst you apart long ago, yet you're still yourself… (shock)]

What conviction kept her walking onward?

Such a data load granted immense power, but only if you could survive it first.

Yet that body—cracked, tattered, on the verge of collapse—looked anything but safe.

That she still held her sense of self demanded nothing short of reverence for her willpower.

But the reply that came showed exactly how she managed it.

[Caeluslana: Thanks to the group chat, I still know exactly who I am.]

[Digi-Na: So that's it… this chat really is unfathomable…]

At her Current level she couldn't parse the chat at all.

She'd already tried; even one of its side features, the Kiana Tavern, defied analysis.

[Niúmǎ Na: So bored, running all over with the guild master—anyone streaming something good?]

[Digi-Na: I'll start a stream; the scenery here's pretty nice.]

[Digi-Na has started a group livestream]

The feed opened and every Kiana in the chat widened her eyes at the sleek white knight on screen.

[Knight Na: You're the real knight here! So cool!]

[Pretty Cure Na: Yeah, way too cool! I wanna sit on your shoulder—the view must be amazing!]

[Senju Na: Wow… even Susanoo looks plain beside you… (envy)]

"Um… thanks, everyone…"

A faint blush crept across Omnimon's white helm; she scratched her cheek, blue eyes shyly narrowing.

Yet pride swelled inside her.

All these Kianas thought her body was cool—officially certified handsome! Hmph! (hands on hips)

Just then Omnimon felt tiny taps on her foot and looked down.

A pink-haired girl knelt on her armored boot, smiling up at her.

A white-haired girl beside her worriedly tried to pull her off.

"Come down, Cyrene, it's dangerous up there!"

"It's fine, Phainon—this pretty big sis means us no harm~"

Cyrene tilted her lovely face, giving the anxious girl a gentle smile.

Omnimon studied the pure, innocent pink-haired child, then extended a hand, palm up.

"Big one, do you want me to hop up?"

Cyrene tapped her cheek, puzzled by the gauntleted hand large enough to cradle her.

Omnimon nodded slightly and glanced toward Phainon—the girl whose face mirrored the Kianas'.

This maiden looked almost like one of their own.

[Digi-Na: Caeluslana, what's the deal with that girl named Phainon?]

[Caeluslana: She's the 'me' of this Eternal Calamity cycle; I'm the previous Phainon who inherited all the sparks and memories of the cycles before hers…]

[Kevin: My heart aches…]

"Big one, what's your name~"

Cyrene blinked at the huge eyes—each larger than her whole body—and beamed.

The giant felt as gentle as Phainon; she had to be good.

"I am Omnimon, a Royal Knight of the Digital World."

"Digital World? It must be super pretty~"

Though she had no idea what lay there, surely it would be as lovely as Aeryn Miseré~!

Perhaps it waited beyond the sky, and maybe this gallant Omnimon had descended from the stars.

Wonder and curiosity rippled softly inside her.

"The Digital World is indeed beautiful…"

Omnimon offered no denial to Cyrene's praise.

"You came from beyond the heavens, right? Can you tell us stories about your home?"

"Very well…"

Omnimon nodded, agreeing.

She liked this pure, flawless child—a rare light among humans.

Actually, both of them were data life-forms, much like herself.

After all, Amphoreus as a whole resembled a colossal data realm akin to the Digital World.

"In our world…"

Rumble—crackle—

As Omnimon began, the entire realm convulsed.

Light and darkness flickered; everything—life, buildings, nature—blurred into glitching artifacts.

Several black corroded data chunks materialized across the flower field beneath Omnimon.

Yet the anomaly lasted only moments.

A familiar force drifted past like a warm Current, gently smoothing everything back to normal.

"…"

Omnimon stared silently in one direction.

"…Irminsul is this powerful…?"

The soft pink wave that had calmed the world was unmistakably Irminsul's energy.

But compared to the Irminsul she knew, this one was leagues ahead—could a newborn core truly wield such might?

Deep doubt took root within her.

"And what were those black erosion masses? They're absolute poison to data beings…"

She muttered under her breath; even she had to tread carefully or risk being corrupted.

"What just—Cyrene? Cyrene, what's wrong?"

Dazed, Phainon clutched her head; seeing Cyrene staring blankly, she gripped the girl's shoulders and gently shook her.

After a moment Cyrene's widened pupils contracted—she had come back to herself.

"Sorry… I worried you…"

Cyrene stroked Phainon's hair, voice soft.

Memories had surfaced—fragments about herself, about past cycles…

"…"

Omnimon watched Cyrene's evident change and fell silent.

She could see the pink wave had boosted Cyrene's data; the girl now knew something new.

Cyrene's gaze slid toward the spot where Caeluslana hid nearby.

"!!!"

Caeluslana's eyes snapped wide.

In Cyrene's stare she read helplessness, reluctance, pity—and absolute resolve.

Then Cyrene smiled radiantly and parted her lips.

Though far away, Caeluslana could read the words formed by that delicate mouth.

"Do it… my dear Caeluslana~"
