Chapter 73 - Forsaken Jester

"So why are you holding that tablet, mistress?"

Elanore gripped the large Tablet of the Forsaken Goddess in her hands. She channeled magic into it, watching as the letters lit up in purple light. With a small tuning, she was able to make them change to pink like everything else in her life. "Well, I have been thinking about something."

"Must you think about this at night time? Why don't we go to bed, mistress? Or do I need to pounce on you again?" The dragoness coiled her arms around Elanore's half-naked body from behind. She pressed her lips against the witchpire's ear, forcing a soft sigh from her throat.

Images of their recent entanglement flashed through Elanore's mind. She conjured up vivid imagery of the nude dragon girl on top of her and everything that happened after that. "You drive a hard bargain, but I don't know how much more I can take. Besides, this is the only time I can actually do anything about this. I feel like we'll be busy tomorrow."

"Will you be okay, mistress? You have to rely on your most trusted maid if you start feeling down, okay?"

"I will."

Naela turned Elanore around to face her. "You have to promise me, mistress."

"I promise," Elanore said while gazing into the not-dragon's eyes. They stared at each other before pressing their lips together in a kiss. When they finally separated, Ella smiled. "How can I not rely on my most trusted maid when you are so cute?"

"Sly little witch. I love you."

"I love you, too."

Naela laid back down behind Elanore, so the witchpire got back to work.

She channeled magic into the tablet and found the other forsaken items in her inventory. Using her pink magic, she connected them together. Next, she closed her eyes once again, allowing her consciousness to slip away from her body like she'd done when searching for her mother.

A floating eyeball appeared in the sky above the dunes, and she moved it towards the temple beneath the sand. After going under ground, she found the door again, and it opened up for her. Once again, she could see the domain of dragons. Her pink strand of magic, attached to this place, and she watched as the atmosphere above changed.

The swirling mass of purple in the sky started changing color, and all of the dragons looked up with shocked gazes. That was until Elanore broadcast her voice to the dragon god.

"Relax, I come in peace."

She spoke no further words and collapsed the spell. When it finished, she had an intrinsic idea of where the domain was. Not only that, several more unknown locations left an impression on her brain. It was like tiny little quest markers proliferating on this planet. And one of them is here in this dwarven city.

[Announcement! Realm of Desecration has been restored to its rightful owner. Welcome back, Forsaken Goddess.]

The chime was not completely unexpected, but it started making Elanore wonder about multiple things in connection to herself. If all of it is true, why did I even abandon this place?

When she'd met up with her first goddess, there was no sign of hostility from the woman. In fact, Synnaria had been pleasant overall. Ella assumed that it had to be a god who'd forsaken her or a group of gods, but there was no such thing. Ella's own memories didn't even compute with Elanore, since the latter was a fictional character in a game anyway.

The witchpire turned to her sleeping lover and smiled. I guess it doesn't really matter that much, but I am curious. Realms don't just shatter on their own.

Sadly, the only inkling she got made her previous self a terrible person. Someone that was all-powerful abandoning an entire realm of people was not a good thing to do, yet Ella didn't consider herself a saint either. After all, she'd arrived at a different world because of her own selfish desires. If I could have a kingdom, what kind of place would I want to build? Ideally, it would be a peaceful place away from the noise of other people. I already create too much of my own noise, after all.

She laid down next to her not-dragon and started stroking her long pink hair. Elanore listened to Naela's sleepy mumblings, which were often about much more mundane things.

Elanore summoned her cauldron companion and stood up, choosing to get dressed early. This time, she wore her casual outfit. "How is it looking on the new energy drink formula?"

Pot flapped his wings in excitement. "It is going wonderfully, Your Majesty. This magic you had me learn has been a huge help."

"Well, I figured it would be good if you could taste things, even if it's artificial. That way, you can become my personal energy drink tester, and I only have to try them when the formula is finished."

"Yes, yes, Your Majesty. Scouring the memories you allowed me to gaze at has been a huge help. By the way, do you have plans of introducing those gas stations in our kingdom?"

Elanore shook her head. "I have a completely different idea for the kingdom. I want to live in a place where we can experience true peace. It will be my family and my sentient items. One by one, I will make so many sentient items that they will compose my entire army."

"What about that other thing you said? Doesn't this go against your other philosophy, Your Majesty? I thought you said..."

"No, this and that don't contradict each other. Besides, it's not like we will be completely isolated. You ever heard of a trading nation? We can simply become a nation that trades with the rest of the world, yet no one will know where we come from. I've actually already started this tradition."

Elanore flipped a pink coin from her inventory into the air. "What do you think will happen centuries from now when only stories of what I look like are passed down? Can you picture it? There will be someone in this city with my coins, and they will be claiming their ancestors saw me."

"Oh...is this another devious scheme you've compiled, Your Majesty?"

Ella responded with a smug grin. "Naturally, everything I do is planned. There has never been a single moment I couldn't anticipate, and nothing happened because of chance." Memories of things happening spontaneously flashed into her mind, but she shook her head. "Yep, nothing at all. The universe is exactly this way because I am in it."
