Chapter 86 - Capturing the Larvitar!

At the Secret Realm Entrance

Outside the island, the pirate captain stewed over what had happened—and suddenly his head cleared.

Obviously, the kid was still on this island.

And he wasn't stronger than the captain!

He'd only picked off the pirates one by one because he had a Psychic-type Pokémon.

So…

why had he run in the first place?

This was a brand-new Secret Realm, with a pseudo-legendary Tyranitar inside!

If the kid reported this to the League,

the Secret Realm would be gone for good.

He had to go back.

To his credit, the captain could think straight when he wanted to.

He rounded up his remaining men and hunted for Lin Yu across the island.

Before long, they recaptured the people Lin Yu had freed.

The young girl with her Pokémon put up a fight, but she was outnumbered,

and her Pokémon were taken again.

After searching for hours with no luck, the pirate captain set a guard right at the Secret Realm entrance.

Why not go in?

They'd stolen Tyranitar's treasure earlier—walking in now would be suicide.

Inside the Secret Realm

Lin Yu spent a while crafting Ground-type Special Attack Energy Cubes.

He set one in front of Tyranitar and another before Larvitar.

"Tyran…?"

"Larvi…?"

Tyranitar in particular could feel her drained energy stirring just from the scent.

Little Larvitar's eyes lit up completely.

"Go on, try it. I made these from the Sand Gems—way more effective than eating them raw."

As he spoke, Lin Yu quietly scanned the Larvitar with his Inspection Eye.

[Pokémon: Larvitar]

[Ability: Guts]

[Gender: Female]

[Talent: Champion-tier]

[Level: 17]

[Moves: Tackle, Payback, Leer, Rock Throw, Bite, Rock Slide, Crunch, Stone Edge, Endure, Iron Head…]

Champion-tier talent, already in the late-Normal stage.

And shiny!

Perfect.

"Good?"

"Larvi!" (Yummy! So yummy!)

Tyranitar stared at Lin Yu with a complicated look.

"Want to keep having these?" Lin Yu coaxed the little one.

"Larvi~" (Yes!)

Great. The kid was on board. Now for the mother.

Lin Yu spoke plainly. "Tyranitar, I want to become your child's partner."

"Tyran…"

Tyranitar stood up, her massive frame radiating pressure.

She gave a slow, quiet nod—she agreed.

She could tell those Energy Cubes would help her and her child immensely.

Lin Yu turned back to Larvitar.

"Welcome to the team."

He held out a Poké Ball and tapped it gently against the shiny Larvitar.

Capture successful!

Latias watched, confused.

She'd never gone inside a Poké Ball before…

Was that how Pokémon became partners?

Maybe she should ask to go in one next time.

Lin Yu looked up at Tyranitar. "Wanna come see the outside world with me?"

"Tyran…" (I would like to…)

Lin Yu pulled out a Temporary Poké Ball and recalled her as well.

The battlefield was left pockmarked and ruined.

Lin Yu didn't feel like hunting for more treasure. He pitched a tent and settled in for the night.

The Next Morning

When Lin Yu stepped outside with his Pokémon, he blinked.

"Well, you've been waiting for me?"

The pirates looked exhausted, having stood guard all night.

He also saw the hostages tied to trees.

He sent a telepathic message to Gardevoir: free them the second we move.

"You two! Just a brat and a girl! You dare steal from the—"

The captain was furious, but also stunned.

This was the kid who'd made him panic for hours?

One pirate whispered, "Boss, look at the Pokémon with that girl!"

The captain's gaze snapped to Manaphy.

His breath caught.

The portrait their Queen had shown them… it was exactly this Pokémon!

He remembered her words clearly:

"Bring me information confirming this Pokémon, and I'll reward you with a Bagon hatchling!"

From her own Salamence, no less.

That was a hatchling from a near-Champion tier Salamence!

His eyes blazed with greed.

Forget the treasure—this was worth far more.

"Men, move in! Capture that Pokémon!"

Parasect swarmed toward Lin Yu.

"Now!"

Lin Yu gave the order and tossed out another Poké Ball—Tyranitar's Temporary Ball.

The League tracked Pokémon in standard Poké Balls,

but Temporary Balls let Trainers move large Pokémon without official registration.

In an instant, his team surrounded him.

Their strength was no joke—most were Gym-tier, and the captain's ace was nearly Master-tier.

Lin Yu couldn't afford to be careless.

Even Mega Charizard X could win,

but hostages were on the line.

As soon as he spoke, Gardevoir acted. She threw up Protect around Lin Yu, then Teleported straight to the hostages and freed them with Psychic.

"Come out, Tyranitar!"

Lin Yu didn't hold back.

When Tyranitar appeared, the pirates froze solid.

"No way… this kid caught Tyranitar?!"

"Huh?!"

"We can't fight this—no chance…"

Even their Pokémon trembled in fear. They knew exactly how strong this Tyranitar was.

Hatred flared at the sight of the thieves.

Lin Yu knew what they'd done to her in the Secret Realm.

The second she appeared, Tyranitar exploded with rage.

Sand and dust roared across the entire area.

Ability: Sand Stream

Upon entering battle, the weather becomes a sandstorm.

A searing beam of energy built in her mouth.

Whoa.

Hyper Beam?

She was starting with her ultimate move—her anger was that intense.

Lin Yu put on his Fairy Wings, then had Gardevoir Teleport him into the air.

"Charizard, Greninja—cut off any escapees. Don't let Tyranitar get hurt."

This wasn't a fight.

It was a one-sided massacre.

Any pirate who tried to run was cut off by Charizard and Greninja

and forced to face the full fury of Tyranitar.
