Origin of Naming The name "Belial" is derived from the demon who made a pact with King Solomon among the seventy-two demons. The design team used this name to signify that it is the "source and arbiter of all subsequent models." This naming tradition continues throughout the entire "Seventy-Two Demons" series, with all subsequent models named after the demon, forming a complete MPU family lineage.

Part Two: Development History
Background
In the early 2010s, charged particle technology had reached initial maturity but was not yet widely applied in the military field. At that time, the main equipment of various countries was still dominated by traditional armored forces; however, the need for mobility in urban warfare and complex terrain operations was increasingly prominent. Against this backdrop, the Russian United Machine-Building Design Bureau launched a concept study on a "humanoid combat platform," aiming to develop a new type of weapon that combined firepower, protection, and terrain adaptability.
Design Philosophy
The design of "Belial" revolves around three core concepts:
1. Humanoid Advantage: Its bipedal walking mechanism enables it to traverse anti-tank ditches, climb ruins, and maneuver in densely built-up areas.
2. Modular Armament: All weapon systems are designed for rapid replacement to adapt to different combat missions.
3. Pilot Survival First: The concept of a "capsule-style escape pod" is introduced for the first time, allowing the cockpit to be ejected as a whole.
Milestones
· March 2012: Concept design initiated
· August 2013: 1:5 scale demonstrator completes walking test
· November 2014: Construction of full-size prototype begins
· June 2015: Prototype successfully ignites for the first time
· September 2015: First full-system integrated test
· February 2016: Officially commissioned, designated MPU-00
Relationship with Subsequent Series
As the progenitor of all MPUs, the technical architecture of "Belial" directly spawned the subsequent "Seventy-Two Demon Gods" series: • Functional Prototype: Directly inherits the basic architecture of Belial, with enhancements for specific functions (such as the melee specialization of the "Barbatos" series).
• Enhanced Branch Type: A comprehensive upgrade of the power, armor, and weapon systems based on Belial (such as the "Leviathan" class heavy mech).
• Technological Inheritance: Belial's cockpit layout, operating system architecture, and power transmission principles become the common standard for all subsequent models.

Part Eight: Technological Legacy and Subsequent Impact
Impact on the MPU Series
Belial's technological architecture directly gave rise to the entire "Seventy-Two Demon Gods" series:
1. Barbatos Series: Inherited Belial's close-combat specialized design, becoming Karl's later mobile suit.
2. Leviathan Class: Enlarged Belial's design, becoming a heavy firepower platform.
3. Asmodeus Type: Lightweight improvement, high-speed reconnaissance type.
4. All subsequent models retained:
• Belial's pioneering cockpit layout
· Joint-driven principle
· Weapon interface standard
Technical document preservation
· Belial's complete design blueprints were backed up to the Russian State Archives after the war
· Operational data logs (black boxes) were partially recovered after wreckage recovery
