Chapter 26 - Chapter 25 : First day together.

Third person point of view

Oliver opened his eyes and stared blankly at the wall in front of him. The sunlight slipped from between the curtains and lit up the room. He slowly came back to his senses. He mentally calculated his body's position. It seemed like he moved towards the middle. Everything was fine except that he felt some weight on his waist.

He blinked and lifted the quilt to look inside. Christian's hand was loosely draped over his waist. His eyes widened and he put the quilt down. Now that he was fully awake, he felt the light breathing of another person coming from behind, grazing his neck. His body stiffened instantly. He took a deep breath to calm his nerves.

He put his hand into the quilt and slowly removed Christian's hand from his waist. He made sure to keep his movement as soundless and cautious as possible. He slowly turned around to face Christian. Christian was still fast asleep. His hair was ruffled up and he looked so soft and gentle in his sleep.

Oliver leaned closer to observe the handsome face. He let out a silent sigh after admiring and got out of bed. He went to the wardrobe and picked out some clothes. He went to the bathroom and finished everything. He dried his hair at the counter and walked out. Christian was still asleep. He thought about waking him up but decided against it.

Not like he would get to sleep so much on regular days. So he could just sleep well when he could. He checked the time and it was already nearing 12. He decided to just make lunch. And if Christian wasn't up by the time he was done, he would wake him up. He went to the kitchen and opened the cabinet where the apron was.

He remembered Christian taking it out from there. He saw a black one and there was another one which was still not open. He took it out and it was the same model. His eyebrows shot up. " Did he get it for me ? " He asked himself and was more surprised. There was really no need for a new one with the old one still in such a good condition. So it had to be for him.

Oliver giggled. He was on cloud nine. He took the new one and opened the packaging. He saw the scissors nearby. He picked it up and cut the tag. He threw away the trash and put the apron on. He ran his hands on the fabric. He loved it. It was indeed nice. He smiled and started cooking in a good mood.

Christian rolled onto his back and opened his eyes. He stared at the ceiling and turned to the side but there was no one. He sat up and there were no sounds from around him. He got out of bed and went up to the windows. He pushed the curtain aside and squinted. The floor to ceiling window gave a full view of his backyard. From the sunlight he guessed it was already noon.

Christian walked back and made the bed. Since there were no signs of Oliver in the bedroom, he walked out and went down the stairs. He could smell the aroma from the kitchen and quickened his pace. He could see the back of a person in an apron cooking in the kitchen. His steps seemed to have become lighter.

Oliver heard footsteps and turned around. " Good morning. Ah, no, afternoon ". Both of them chuckled. Christian walked closer and noticed he was already done cooking halfway. " Good afternoon. When did you wake up ? " " Not long ago ". " Should've woken me up ". " It is a sin to disturb a person's peaceful sleep ".

Christian chuckled. " Let me wash up ". Oliver nodded. Christian went up to their room and walked into the bathroom. He finished everything and went back down dressed in slacks and a loose shirt. He rolled up his sleeves as he walked down. Oliver had already set up the cutlery and was going to bring the dishes.

Christian turned Oliver around by his shoulders. " Go sit down. I will get them ". Oliver smiled and went to the table without objecting. Christian went to the kitchen and brought the dishes to the table. They both sat down and tasted it. They were hungry after having a nice sleep and also not eating breakfast.

Christian nodded in approval. " Delicious ". Oliver chuckled. " Anything would taste good when we are this hungry ". Christian laughed lightly. " That does not affect my evaluation. Your cooking is really good ". Oliver gave a polite bow. " Thank you ". Christian smiled and they continued eating.

" Did you sleep well ? " Oliver nodded. " I slept like a log ". Christian smiled. " What about you ? " Oliver asked back, a little worried. For him, it was sleeping in a new place. But for Christian, it was someone invading his space. So he was a little worried. " I also did not wake up even once. I slept very well ". " That's good to know ".

They finished lunch and Christian started cleaning the dishes. " You should go sit ". Christian said when he saw Oliver lingering around him. " You- " " Did you not make lunch ? I can clean these few in no time. Just go sit ". Christian smiled. Oliver nodded and went to sit on the couch. He looked down at the ring on his finger and played with it.

He took it off and saw the engraving. " Ian's ". Oliver said, in a whisper. He smiled and put it back on, rubbing the surface. He wondered if Christian got anything on his ring. He never told him anything about it. His phone vibrated and he saw some messages from his friends and staff who attended his wedding. He got distracted and forgot about Christian's ring.
